This is a great idea. I used to use A4 sized page dividers for separating out pages within ring binders. The problem with these was that I would keep needing to change what was written on the tab, and that had to be done by either liquid paper or a small piece of adhesive label. Plus, I would not always need to use all the dividers in one ring binder, and spread them out between different binders, which often looked odd. But this way is far better – use the exact number of tabs you need, stick them to the appropriate pages and replace them as and when needed. There are two versions of these Post It index tabs which I have tried. This version comes with three colours (orange, green and pink),which are kept in a handy slim plastic dispenser. This allows you to write what you need to on the tab and then pull it away, leaving the next one ready on the other side. You can write on them in biro or – my preferred way – CD surface pen.The corners of the tabs are rounded and the clear sticky area is large enough to stick on the paper and not come away too easily when you use the tab to turn the pages. When you do peel it away from the page, it comes off easily and does not leave any residue. This also means they can be used, removed and reused several times, which is excellent. For the other type of Post Index tab I mentioned, see the link below.

I am a longstanding fan of the ordinary page markers, tabs or flags. 25 years ago I was a junior staff officer in the Army, and it was part of the job to write “briefs” for senior officers that would enable them to read just the most important parts of a series of documents, all “flagged up” precisely, we had dreadful old string-reinforced paper tabs that were gummed, tasted disgusting, and damaged the paper if you tried to remove them later. These are just streets ahead. Easy to stick on and remove, and made in a matt plastic on which it is easy to write with a biro, they are ideal for tasks whether they involve simply identifying a page,or drawing the eye to a particular line or paragraph.I was intrigued to see what these “strong” ones would be like. They are of a slightly thicker plastic, and are a bit less likely to get bent. In practice I doubt that they will last any longer, but they may look good for a bit longer. They come in multiple colours, too, should you wish to colour code your tabs – this particular pack came with three sets of colours.Whether a reader, writer or a bit of both, these are a handy tool to have to hand.

I am reviewing the Post-it® Strong Index Flags - 3 Colours (Pink, Green, Orange) - 25.4x38mm. Here are my thoughts:^^ These luminous pink, orange and green flags are simple but for me they are great to have. I have a lot of projects on the go and these are just so handy to mark where I am, or important notes I need to refer to quickly.^^ You can write on them. I've often used these for diaries and work projects.^^ They stick well in books, diaries, yet can be taken off and used again.^^ You get a fair amount in one pack and as much as I use them , they seem to last a long while. There are 22 flags of each colour. Aha!Overall:I've bought these before and really like how they are reusable (to a certain extent).I like them for diaries, so I can write the months on them and then put them on so they stick out at the sides and find the month I need easier. I use these at work and for lots of other projects too. Bought them before - will buy them again!

These are perfect for me. Colours exactly the same as the picture except for the pink which is a touch darker. I love these for text books at school (I'm a teacher) or anthologies so that I can index the sections I want without having to turn over pages or use big "normal" post-its. The area is enough to write a small piece of info (such as "next week") but nothing more than that but like I say I don't use them as such for writing on more for identifying a section in a book. The different colours can be used for me for different year groups or different classes so if I'm reading a book with a class I can index where I am with each teaching group. The actual flag part is very strong and does not seem as though it would easily be torn or bent and are much stronger than the ones that come in the plastic dispenser. The container for these flags is good and is a folded clear plastic wallet with one flag of each colour already out ready to use.

These are really good for marking places in book when you want to refer to them - you can even use them as a bookmark because they will unstick and restick several times. The three colours mean that you can mark things several times in the same book and easily distinguish between them. The markers are made from a very thin plastic and don't wilt at all. The part in the book (or on the map or document, or whatever) is clear with the coloured area being about a centimetre high and twice that in width. The sticky stuff really doesn't leave a residue and you can use it several times without it losing its adhesive properties - I'm up to over ten times on one with no issue. The come in a nifty holderwhich stops them getting dirty and means that you can remove one at a time which is always useful.Well thought through and very useful.

This is my first pack of Post-it index flags. These are are made of a fine grainy plastic and are 2.54cm by 3.8cm (or for people who prefer imperial measures 1in by 1.5in). Each tab has a coloured end that takes up a third of the the length (half an inch) - it is the clear section that is sticky. The image on the packaging shows a white tab with a fine coloured border and writing - there isn't anything about whether you can write on these on the packet but I tried it with a gel-pen and it seems to have dried okay. I use these for marking up note and project books, so I can find particular sections.I think they work really well and I like the packaging - the labels come in a stiff fold of plastic which lets you pull off one label at a time and leaves the next label ready to be used.

These are the Bee's knees of index flags as they are so strong. Unlike the usual flags that get tatty very easily these stay looking pristine; they cost a little more initially but in fact one saves money in the long run as they last so long.As a mature student I use an awful lot of these: e.g. 24 tags for each book of the Odyssey plus more for the introduction etc.!I also stick them at the bottom of some of my slimmer files and binders as I have a horizontal multi-layer desk tray; so I am able to thumb through the index flags making it easy to find a particular file. There are a 101 uses for the tabs as they are so strong and long-lasting - not to mention they come in a range of attractivecolours.

These things are fantastic. They're very strong, hold in place well, easy to remove (leaving no residue) and can be re-used.They're big enough to write on, but you do need to use a decent biro - rollerball takes ages to dry, pencil doesn't show-up, and fat blobby biros go a bit smeary.Photo is of a technical book I covered in these tabs to speed up finding relevant parts for an Open Book style exam in 2011. The book has been in regular use for work ever since. Not one of those tabs has fallen off, the colours haven't diminished, and the writing on the tabs hasn't faded.Love these, and I always carry a few in the back of my pocket notebook. They're brilliant.

These differ from the standard index tabs by being significantly more robust. They're about the same thickness as plastic lamination film, whatever it's called, so they wont bend, curl, warp, etc. Ideal for folders, filing, etc rather than the other sorts which are more for temporarily marking pages. The included dispenser is effective but it has no mounting points or way of putting it anywhere, so it's a very "light" version of a dispenser. You could stick it down with double sided tape or something, if you wanted. The colours are distinct and bright, and you can write on them with ball point pen.All in all, very good,

These tabs are the best type I’ve ever used and I won’t be going back to any others. They are strong and rigid. The adhesive is very good - you can even move them a few times and they reckon strongly adhered when you refix. The strength is good enough that you can easily use the tab to open pages in your documents without worrying that it will come off! There is also a good range of colours available (I have also used to yellow, red, blue packet).I’ve knocked 1 star off purely because I think they are slightly overpriced. But you definitely do get what you pay for.

I'm a huge lover of post-its, especially index flags, as I like indexing important parts in my bullet journal. the Post-it make's index flags are always great quality, but I have to say these are far superior to their usual ones. They are extra thick to prevent tearing, and making them extremely long lasting. The colours are lovely and bright, and they all come on a handy little strip. I have tried out lots of index flags in my time, and these are the best I've ever found. I will definitely be replacing these when they run out.

These are really good for demarking pages/things of interest in books, especially as they are larger and have a bit of room to do some writing. Wife and I both found these essential kit when studying and I still use them now when reading manuals on building websites etc. Brightly coloured and very strong, once in place they don't just fall out as teh adhesive is good, unlike cheaper non-branded ones. Available in other colurs too which helps with colour coding.

I really like these index flags, they are extra strong and don't go wrinkly like the normal ones because they are much thicker. They stick well, and are really useful for marking places in books (which is what I usually use them for). They're handy to write on, so it's quick and easy to refer back to something you've already read. A great invention for avid book readers and students alike.

Brilliant tabs with a variety of organisational uses. I use them for marking books at particular pages which I will want to consult again. They adhere well but when they need to be removed come off easily without leaving any residue. You can write on them to add notes to yourself about what the index flag is highlighting.Simple, effective and terrific

These index flags come in lovely shades and are ideal for marling pages. I have used these in the past and they are re-useable. Just peel them off, keep them clean (I stick them on the front of the book) and then you can re-use them. If you want to write on them, subject to space, the Sharpie pens are best in my experience.
