The last time I bought Post-It notes, they either came in single pads or in blocks, but always individually wrapped in cellophane. Clearly things have moved on a lot since those days and the cellophane has now gone, to be replaced with a much more environmentally friendly cardboard box. In some ways, this feels like quite a positive change, as cardboard is much more easily recycled and it also reduces our reliance on some of the most scarce natural resources. However, at a very minimum, 3M might want to rethink the design of the cardboard box and incorporate a tab to keep it closed, as the box I received had opened in the post and some of the pads had become very slightly damaged (albeit,it's easy to see that this damage could have been much worse). In relation to the Post-It note pads themselves, I've always been a bit of a sucker for them and in particular, the brightly coloured versions (such as these). As you will be able to see from my picture, the colours are quite strong, even though they are described as pastel colours. Out of the total of 16 pads, there are a total of 6 different colours - 3 of each of the orange and green coloured pads and 2 each of the blue coloured pads. The quality of these Post-It notes are no different to any other variants which you may have used and being the traditional rectangualr shape, they are able to accommodate a reasonable amount of information.I appreciate that you might look at the price of these pads and think it is extortionate however, you have to remember that you are getting 16 individual pads and based on the current price of £26, I don't think that £1.63 is overly bad value (albeit, you may wish to hold out for a bargain, given that CamelCamelCamel shows that they have been priced at £0.77 per pad, earlier this year).Irrespective of the price, I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed with these pads and I'd wholly recommend them

We all know what Post-It notes are. Like Kleenex or Hoover (formerly), the brand name is so successful as to have become virtually synonymous with the product. We seem to get through quite a few post-its at home, using them for memos, shopping lists, book marks, and all sorts of other purposes – my partner even uses them for in-class exercises with her university students. These ones are 76mm (about 3”) square, which is a good size for lots of purposes. You can fit quite a bit of text on here, as we found using them for notes during a board game (see photo). The paper quality is good – not too rough or shiny – and the fairly muted colours generally show the text clearly, although the dark red could be a problem. One thing that’s a bit of a pain, however, is that rather than having a pad where the sticky tab is always on one side (the top), here each note joins to the note below on opposite sides (top to bottom to top). This might not sound like a big deal, but it does have drawbacks if you don’t have a dispenser. (Reading the detailed product description, it does say they’re designed to be used with one, though I didn't realise this before ordering since it isn’t clear from the title or key points.)First, it can be harder than you’d expect to pick up the pad; if you only grab the top half then the bottom half doesn’t come with it, you simply get a concertina effect of paper notes (see photo). Perhaps this is why they're called Z-notes. Second, if you want to write a bunch of notes in succession, and have the sticky tab on the top of each one, then you have to rotate the pad between each note. I think the latter would still bother me with a dispenser and, to be honest, I don’t really see why anyone would need a post-it dispenser anyway – I prefer the traditional pad design myself, hence 4* for over-complicating a very simple product.

This is a pack of sixteen 76 x 76 mm square post it Z-notes and the size that I use most often for jotting down short phone notes that I scan into records or to add guidance to clients on paperwork, where they really stand out and thus do their job. I used to wonder what all the fuss was about Z-notes, as they seemed no different to the ordinary post-it notes that come in a pad format. Z-Notes are post-it notes that are glued alternately at the top or bottom so they can be used in a dispenser where it is easy to remove one at a time one-handed whilst on the phone. The notes are neatly dispatched in a cardboard box that makes storage easy and also provides protection as these do not have the usual individual plastic wrap. The notes adhere well to paper and a number of other surfaces but can be removed easily without damaging whatever they have been stuck to, no matter how long they have been say, between the pages of a book. There are many dispensers available and they are often bundled up for little (or no) additional cost with a multi pack of Z-notes. Unless you use a dispenser, there is actually no difference to the user between Z-notes and the ordinary sort, so if you don't want to have a dispenser I would stick with whichever is the cheaper at the time of purchase (normally the pads). However, a dispenser increases the utility of the notes, means that you can easily take one note from the pad single-handed whilst on the phone and ensures that you can always find them when you need them, which is a priceless attribute if your desk looks like mine does. There are alternatives but I haven’t found one yet that is as versatile or reliable as the Post-it brand.

I'm a big fan of the humble post-it note, a common sight in offices, schools and homes around the world. The idea is simple yet ingenious - pads of paper which can be stuck and then removed when no longer needed. The dream of being "paper free" is for many still just a dream, and even in our increasingly digital world, there are still many uses for the "post-it" note. As a teacher, I use them in the classroom for all sorts of activities, and for individual students, they are also a great way of annotating learning materials in a flexible way which doesn't permanently mark the books etc. This size of note (rectangular rather than square) is ideal for making short "to-do" lists" or for leaving phone messages etc too.Unlike some other post-its, this set arrived in a cardboard box which serves as a dispenser; no cellophane to battle with which was good. They are made from recycled paper, with the sticky adhesive made from a renewable resource, so this is an environmentally friendly product. The colours are lovely, slightly richer than they appear on my computer screen and they will definitely stand out against most backgrounds. A great addition to my post-it collection and definitely recommended although I would say check the dimensions before you buy because there are lots of different sizes of "post-it" available, so make sure you get the size you want. There are imitation sticky notes on the market, although I haven't yet found any that are as good as the "post-it" original.

Firstly, note the dimensions of these Post-it notes before you buy; they are about a quarter of the size of the standard ones. That’s no bad thing though, because they are useful around the house; on the fridge or front door for shopping lists and must-remember in the morning type things, whilst being small enough to prevent your home looking like an office. There are of course more specialised uses for Post-it notes, as anyone in software development will tell you (the larger sizes are used extensively in Agile development).I do some freelance web development at home, and that is what I use mine for; a little Kanban board (Google is your friend) on the wall behind my monitor.Years ago,I also used to write for a living (books on web development) and Post-it notes were used extensively to flesh out chapter contents, and the ones here are just the right size for that (and idea generation in general); write your ideas out on the Post-Its then move them around to form a structured plan. They also look useful for making notes in books and documents, or sticking notes on boxes (for example, we have one on the flea drops for the cat, telling us when she needs the next one).Who would buy these? The small size of these Post-its make them less useful for office meetings and planning but more useful for personal things; in the home and kitchen, by the phone or for a home office.Smaller, less obtrusive and even a little cute.

These notelets, made from recycled paper and packed in a cardboard box that is also made from recycled fibre, with no cellophane or plastic wrapper, are surely the way all such notelets should go in future. At the retail level, ‘superfluous’ packaging is needed to prevent shop-soiling and theft, but for on-line purchases there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way in which these pads are presented. The pack contains twenty-four 100 sheet pads, each sheet measuring 38mm x 51mm (1.5” x 2”), That’s 2.3 square metres (almost 25 square feet) of paper. The full list of colours is Green (2 shades, 11 pads total); Blue (2 shades, 5 pads total); and Orange (2 shades, 8 pads total).Or they are in my pack; they may vary.People have been known to paper whole rooms with Post-it notes. Despite its size, this pack would barely make a start on the first wall, so better to use it for writing notes. Then you can use most of the reverse sides too (all but the adhesive strip); just fold the note back on itself. As with other Post-it notes, black marker pen soaks through to the other side (mind what you rest on if writing with one of those!); normal felt tip, ball point and fountain pens do not.The appearance and feel of the recycled paper is a little different from the standard Post-it product, but not a lot – and in practical writing and sticking terms I haven’t found any difference.

This is a great set of environmentally friendly Post-It notes, you'll receive a cardboard box containing 16 pads of 100 sheets each measuring about 3 by 5 inches (the same size as normal rectangle post-it pads). The cardboard packaging doubles as a display / storage unit (as seen in the Amazon picture). The pads come in 6 different colours - 3 x light green, 3 x dark green, 3 x light orange, 3 x dark orange, 2 x light blue, 2 x dark blue - so they're great for colour coordinating notes or just make a nice change to the normal yellow post-its (please note that although the picture looks like it contains yellow notes they are actually the light green ones). Both the cardboard and the post-its aremade from recycled paper and they're even more environmentally friendly because each pad isn't individually wrapped in cellophane (there was no cellophane used in the packaging at all). The paper used for the sheets is good quality and practically indistinguishable from normal post-its and they're just as sticky as their counterparts too.Yes this box is more expensive than some brands but I think it's worth paying a little more to consider the environmental impact we have and 1600 post-its are going to last most home users a very long time! The easy grab tower makes them perfect for an office stationery cupboard too

POST IT=======Post-it note come in a variety of shapes and sizes. These little gems are square. They are just under 8 CM x 8 CM. They are the standard colour. Yellow.RECYCLED PAPER===============There are Post-it notes markers which are plastic which I like, but you need a special pen to write on with. These were taken into work and everyone tried them out, the following is a montage of our views:ROGER:...much preferred the pastel colours because they're not as 'glarey' as the neon ones and he liked that they stuck to everything. We tested them on painted wall, white board, plastic dado rail, computer monitor and.....human skin....which is useful on Roger's training workshops where sometimes an icebreaker game is called for!SHEILA:...liked there was a wide range of colours and picked the blues because as someone with dyslexia she finds it easier to see the writing on that colour (also on the darker green and orange).KATIE:...didn't like the orange as it wasn't as 'crisp' and 'clean'to write on as the paler colours. Her favourite was the green. She also found it worked well cutting a Post-it in half for her needs. We ALL liked that they were made from recycled paper and that the dispenser meant that individually sealed cellophane packs weren't needed. Better for the environment but just easier in general.I prefer the bolder colours and like that there is enough room to write down a phone message or label something clearly. This size pack is ideal for an office where people can help themselves as and when they need them.

These ARE Post-It Notes. They are not some fake copy of my beloved trusted brand. They come in a recycled cardboard case. Perfect for all storage. I have mine next to the fridge so i can leave messages to the family on the fridge. After all its the first place they go when they get in the house. Cant tell im addicted to these Post-It Notes. Ive been buying these post it notes for years. This is a new colour range to me. But nevertheless these are so on trend with young ad old alike. Mainly i use them as book marks, leaving notes for the kids, or for markers on my knitting patterns. These are the small tab size so perfect for anyone to use as under liners in books, magazines,or as i use them to follow complex rows in knitting patterns. . The larger size are perfect for all my notes to leave on the fridge, computer, or windscreens of my kids cars. They have a low tack on the back of each one, but this is enough to adhere them to most surfaces. The colour is pretty drab. Yellow is never the colour i go for as a rule. But i needed this size and the only colour was basic yellow. . I love them for fridge notes. The yellow is bright so you cant miss them when placed on the computer, fridge or door.

Post-it notes have become a mainstay of home and office life and whilst there are alternative copycats, I invariably return to Post-it notes as they seem to stick better and for longer than alternatives that I have tried.Everywhere around us we are reminded that we should all be striving to use less paper or recycle the paper we use more efficiently and this product ticks the boxes of the greener paper product in that these self-sticking notelets are made from 100% recycled paper, the cardboard tower is made from 100% recycled cardboard and even the adhesive has been thought about and 60% of the adhesive has been made with renewable resources (namely a plant that grows annually.)The cardboardtower is one of my favourite parts of this product as I really loathe the cellophane wrappers that most post-it notes come wrapped in - partly as they are difficult to open and partly because it's really horrid wrapping, which I'm sure takes hundreds of years to break down. This tower is simple and effective and allows you to keep a ready and handy supply of post-it notes to hand without cluttering up your workspace or your drawers. Neat, environmentally thoughtful and good value for money.

Finally I can use Post-Its without feeling too guilty about the cost to the environment.I am getting older - I know that we all are so it is a mute point. I should rephrase it: I am getting to the age where I need to write things down to remember all that I need to do. Post-Its have been in this context indispensable for quite a while, but they have up until now carried a penalty of adding to the downfall of the environment in terms of resources being used wantonly. Now we have these new Post-Its which are made from recycled materials. Even the glue is from renewable sources which is brilliant. In use there is no perceptible difference in how well they take ink (from my recyclable corn starch pen - feeling very virtuous!).The glue is as effective as anything else on other Post-It products, and so given these two elements, combined with the still highly visible colour of the paper, I would say these are excellent news for the forgetful souls like me, who nonetheless cannot forget that it is better to live a little more lightly on this planet we call home.Price wise I don't think there is much of a premium to pay for the privilege of feeling a little more virtuous.

For practical purposes these 100% recycled Post It notes work as well as regular Post It notes, and you get enough pads in the cardboard dispenser to keep a busy office happy for a long, long time. You can write on them just as well and they stick just as well. It's only when you look very closely at them that you can see the flecks and speckles that give their 100% recycled nature away. Given the short life cycle of a Post It note – you write on it, you stick it up, you do the thing you put it there to remind yourself about and then you bin it – it's hard to argue why anyone with a choice of regular and recycled would not go for the recycled, all other things being equal. However, the muted pastel colours of these notes are not as eye-catching as regular brightly coloured Post It notes, and that could be a problem for some.It all comes down to how you intend to use them, so whilst I might have removed a review star for the pastel colours, I added it back again for the plus point of it being a 100% recycled paper / renewable resource adhesive product. You'll have to weigh the two points up yourself to decide how much each matters to you.
