I remember the original Polly Pockets from the 1990s. The sets were like compact mirrors that opened to reveal a mini scene with a mini doll called Polly inside and they fitted in your pocket. As I grew older I was surprised when Polly Pocket products became bigger toys that no longer fitted in the pocket. However more recently it seems Polly has been going back to her origins, back down to micro size, just like here in this medium-sized set.I got this for my 8-year-old daughter. She loves it. It is called “Pamperin Perfume Spa” and has the perfume bottle design on the outside with a squeeze bit at the top.On the inside is the spa.The bottom has a stylist chair that can swivel and turn from one end to the other so that Polly Pocket can move between treatments. There is a sauna room, and a healthy food area beneath a towel massage table. There are then steps up to the upper area where there is a shower room at the top and lockers that fold out into a pool area. The pool area is a really cool feature as the spray bottle can be filled with water and then squeezed to release water into the pool (see video attached to review). There are also mini accessories. There are a couple of Polly Pocket micro dolls, Polly Pocket and her friend Lila, plus a golf buggy for them to go out and about in. The set also comes with Polly Stick Stickers which are little stickers that Polly Pocket can stick to. Applying these stickers to the set means she can stand anywhere, even if the set is held upside-down.It really is quite intricate which has appeal, plus it can be put away very easily with all the pieces being stored inside the set which can then be closed and put away taking little space, plus it is portable so can be taken and played with in other places or while travelling. On the negative side is that my daughter is prone to losing things, especially small things, but that is not the toy’s fault. Also the Polly does lose her sticky feet after a while, but supposedly applying sticky tape to the feet will get back their stickiness. But overall my daughter loves it and gives it 5-stars.(My daughter also gives a tour of the set in the attached video to this review, also on YouTube on her channel TheMightyRoast.)

Polly Pocket has been rebooted again, not quite as tiny as those of the late 80s early 90s but certainly smaller than the last reboot which put her on par with happyland figures to prevent little ones choking risk. This set comes from a range of the more premium reboots with multiple play value or adjustable settings within the world however is great for ballet and dance fans with plenty of interactive value from performance to rehearsal to vending or just attending here are play hints and room for free imagination too which is an excellent value to the toy. However as good as it is I don’t think this is as amazing play value as the ski lodge for example as the play more limited and you would need another set to play out a story. Also the large sticker on the backdrop is prone to damage - ours arrived damaged with a tear/badly applied dent which could ruin the experience for a child who is particular about their things.Polly and her red haired friend are dressed in dance outfits ready to perform in the ballet. There is also seating for 4 guests plus theatre boxes so you could get friends from other playsets to attend the show too paying for tickets and refreshments at the booth or playing the white grand piano as accompaniment to the show.Or Polly and her friend can train and rehearse backstage in the ballet school if you release the crown catch and lower the backdrop to make the ballet studio floor. Here is a barré and boom box plus a throne and wardrobe/secret room to add to the imaginative play value. There is a horse and rideable carriage as a loose accessory too. Not sure how practical that is in the theatre though compared to other loose accessories from other sets in the range. There is a Polly stick sticker on a platform on the stage which can be rotated using the cog device located in the front of the stage which adds a real ‘performance’ value to the product.Overall this is a good set with plenty of play value but it’s not amazing, I would pick others in the range first but this will please little ballet dancers- though shame they didn’t include a boy dancer too.

The toy is presented in a double plastic mold attached to a colourful cardboard. There are two very very tiny figures; one dressed in blue and one in pink and black. The tiny accessoriues are a sledge and a snowboard. The figures are rubbery but don't have moveable limbs so they remain in the same position. There are two parts to the snow globe; One part contains a ski lift which slides in a groove cut into the plastic housing, it doesn't come out of the housing so only moves about 2 inches in total. A picture of a ski lodge and snow covered trees is stuck on the back of the housing. A plastic slide with an igloo and a heart shaped platform inside an ice rink lay beneath the ski lift. The igloo opens to reveal a tiny snowman and If you place a figure on the platform and turn the snowman, the platform goes around the ice rink so your little figure skates around. The other half of the snow globe is the ski lodge interior. Upstairs, the bedroom has a bed, bedside table with lamp and a bathroom with opening door that contain a toilet. Downstairs contains an armchair and a fireplace with a heart shaped rug (paper). The front door swings open and a staircase unfolds to extend the lounge and leads down to the basement (nothing in the basement). The two halves join together with plastic lugs. There is also a clear plastic dome that covers the top half of the housing and makes it look like a snowglobe when it is closed; this also has a plastic lug that hinges the whole toy together. A small set of stickers and an instruction sheet are also included in the set.The very tiny parts in this toy make it unsuitable for small children. The manufacturers suggest 4 years up but I would say 5 years and upwards would be more suited to this toy. The figures are so cute and the toy is very collectable. There are other globes scenes available to collect. My ten year old granddaughter loves miniature dolls and I think this would make a nice birthday gift or stocking filler for her.

Polly Pocket Compacts have always been a favourite with children and they have become a collector's item among teenagers and even some adults. My daughter used to collect them during the late 90s and I am now delighted to be able to introduce this new range of Polly Pocket Compacts to my three (nearly four) year old granddaughter.Polly Pocket World Cupckake Compact is a beautiful one to start with...very colourful and very pretty. This compact playset is shaped like a yellow cupcake with purple icing and opens up into a wonderful pink, yellow, turquoise and purple cafe world. There are two teeny tiny dolls (Polly and Shani)included and a little purple scooter and silver microphone.Inside the magical world of Polly Pocket Compacts there are so many exciting things to discover, each world scene so different from the last. In this Cafe World there is so much to reveal. The kitchen has a fridge door that opens and the upstairs door opens to reveal a large picture of Polly's dog.And there's magic too...Lifting up the table in the cafe reveals a stage where Polly or Shani can perform with the microphone. Even better...when Polly is on stage performing you can move the button left to right and watch Polly move to the music. All of the new Polly Pocket compacts come with stickers that you can stick to various areas allowing the teeny polly pocet dolls to stand wherever they want. The dolls repeatedly stick to the stickers, however I am not sure how durable this element will be long term.My granddaughter was so excited when I opened up the compact and she saw the little world within...she actually squealed with delight. This toy has been played with constantly for the last week or so (as well as a couple of others in the range). Wherever my granddaughter goes so does her little Polly Pocket Worlds...that's the great thing about these compacts they are small enough to slip into a bag or pocket.Brilliant and well worth the money.

I used to love Polly Pocket when I was little so it's been my absolute pleasure to review this new version and share the love with my three year old. I'm pretty sure they have made Polly a little big bigger than previously so she's approx 1" tall now and the other thing they have changed is that they have removed the slots that Polly fitted into and have introduced Polly Stick. Now this had me really flummoxed because I cannot work out how it works. There are stickers pre-stuck in the house and Polly and her friends do STICK to it however the stickers do not feel sticky to touch! There are no magnets involved either. It simply seems to be that Polly's legs are now made out of a flexible silicone that only stick to the special surface of the included stickers.I also do not know yet whether the 'sticky' will wear off. The set does include 9 spare stickers which you can stick wherever you like! This Polly Pocket set looks like a handbag and turns into a shopping mall when opened. Then there are loads of fun things to do inside. The wardrobe door slides across. There is an upstairs 'theatre' that opens to reveal a popcorn stand and a sofa. There is a lift that really goes up and down and the door opens and closes. There is a fixed till. An arcade bike that Polly can actually ride backwards and forwards. And a folding hotdog stand. There are 2 Polly Pocket dolls included to play with as well as 2 individual scooters (that look like Segways) one for each doll. As is always the case with Polly Pocket everything fits neatly inside the box and closes up with a clasp. I do have one grip that this particular set keeps breaking apart at the hinge. I have to fix it every time my daughter opens and closes it. There is obviously a slight fault with how it's attached and not as good quality as the other sets in the same range that we have. Just a bad design. Highly recommended and good value for money though.

The Polly Pocket Music Box is a self-contained, all-plastic box which comes with two little figures, a pony and carriage and a sheet of stickers. It is important to note that the box does not play music when opening the lid nor when moving any of the parts. It would be more accurate to call it a Theatre Box because it has a theatre, a stage and a rehearsal area. The stickers are surfaced on the visible side so that the feet of the little figures 'suction' on; this gives the figures a very strong grip and they don't fall over. The figures have soft, flexible legs and firm plastic arms. They stand independently but really grip onto the stickers' surface so that they stay upright but 'dance'when flicked. The brown rehearsal area pops down from the purple curtains of the stage to reveal a practice bar and a sound system. These are fixed to the floor and are not removable. On the blue stage is a spotlight area with a white heart sticker already applied. This part rotates so a figure can be 'stuck' to the heart and twirled on the spot. In the theatre area is a drinks bar with a moving counter top and a grand piano with a lifting top part. Behind the stage is a dressing area which has a wardrobe with an opening door. The figures and pony and carriage can be stored within the box when it is closed but there is not specific, dedicated place to put or to hold them. One thing I would have liked is a 'resting' place where I could put the figures to sleep when the box is closed. As it is, you have to lay the two figures and the pony over the seats to be able to close the lid with everything inside. This is a fun little box which is well-made with no sharp edges and lots of play value but I stress again it does not play music despite being described as a 'music box.'

I was always intrigued by Polly Pockets the first time round but was too old. Now, this revival sees me with a 7-year-old daughter and gives me the perfect excuse to own one.The snow-globe compact houses Polly and her friend Shani in their bijou chalet and winter playset. As with many children’s toys these days, it takes a reasonable amount of time to remove from the packaging and assemble. The compact sections need to be pushed into the metal bar to make it hinge and this would need adult help. I would recommend assembling it first, before gifting it to a child.Once constructed, open the clear case to access the chalet front with opening door. Then open further to reveal the inside of the chalet on one side and a winter scene on the other. My initial thoughts are of disappointment as Polly has rubbery bendy legs with sticky feet. Her feet stick to the stickers provided and she can even hang upside down or stand on the roof! I’m sure the original Polly Pockets had dainty legs and feet. The chalet has a living area with a chair and hidden fireplace. Upstairs there is a miniature bed, bedside table, lamp and bathroom. The bathroom door amusingly opens out with the toilet attached to the door – refreshing! The snow scene has a cable car big enough to fit one doll inside with a clip for her snowboard. There is a slope and a tiny sledge to use on it. Open the igloo to reveal a snowman, that when turned, spins the platform so that a doll can “skate” on the ice.My overall verdict is that it is quite cute, but not as good as the originals. I could imagine carrying the older little dolls in my pockets, these ones will just get fluffy feet! My daughter thinks it is good, but I question the longevity and opportunity for creative play.

The 'dance machine' which actually moves left and right, The arcade machine, and the separate scooter. The other loose piece is a karaoke machine. Otherwise everything else is fixed. You receive 2 dolls in the set Polly and her friend who has darker skin and brown hair. The dolls are rigid but with flexible bendy legs. You cannot make them sit. The house has movable parts. The front door opens and closes. The fridge opens and closes. The oven opens and closes. The table lifts up to reveal a dance stage which is sticky. I've already mentioned the dance game which moves . As is always the case with Polly Pocket everything fits neatly inside the house and closes up with a clasp. This house turns into a giant cupcake. Highly recommended and good value for money.

This is part of the premium reboot of the micro Polly pocket Range and is closer to the Polly Pockets of my childhood before the Health and safety brigade ended all that gorgeousness. This set looks like a cupcake from the outside but is a cupcake bakery with seating inside. It’s pretty brilliant. There is a upstairs entry, with a till and space for Polly to bring up the bill. Under the staircase is a brilliant interactive kitchen with a fridge that opens sink area and range with an extractor and an opening door. this is fantastic play value by itself. In the bottom half of the set is a rating and entertaining area- the seating and table is next to a dance game like those from the early 00s thatwere so popular but if you lift up the white clothes table it becomes a stage to perform or do karaoke. To be honest, as a grown up who had original Polly pocket sets this is a disappointment, they could’ve been so much more creative than resorting back to singing and dancing when in doubt. However my daughter thinks it’s brilliant and really that’s the opinion that matters in playability however it’s worth noting if your child isn’t a ‘performing’ type. The old Polly used to have little recesses to stand in, this has cubbies and special stickers that Polly can stick to regardless of angle or support. This is a little more freeing but could be a waste of stickers and loss of functionality if your child is careless with them or thinks they are normal old stickers.Overall, this isn’t my favourite int he range (that’s the snow lodge) but it’s till offers outstanding play and imaginative value for young children- I would and have bought here sets as gifts for the right fit of child.

Polly Pocket GCJ88 Pocket World Ballet Compact Play Set, Multi-Colour is another great item in the Polly Pocket range of toys, our little girl loves playing with every item she has in this range but I would have to say her favourite is the ballet one as she is able to turn the small Polly figure on the actual stage and with all the hidden extras within this great play item makes it one she seems to have great fun with.Personally, I like them as they are so small they can fit in a small bag therefore perfect for taking with us when going visiting or even going out for the day.She loves the full range of this play item and I love how the manufacturer has really added to the full range of products.Polly Pocket GCJ87 Pocket World Deep Sea Sandcastle Compact Play Set,Multi-Colour is one play item from the Polly Pocket range which I am happy to recommend. The intricate detail within the toy is fantastic and the imaginative fun our little girl had with it was good. She has a few other sets from this range and she has enjoyed bringing them all together.I loved how the manufacturer has thought of everything, not only when the toy is wide open when closed the detail which is enclosed in the plastic casing continues with the beachside theme.Polly Pocket is a range of toys which I remember from my childhood and it is great to be able to show and play with toys that I had when I was a child actually playing with the same range with my own child and even better is the fact she is enjoying playing with them just as much as I did.Happy to recommend.

Polly Pockets have been around for years and they deserve the current relaunch they are getting with some cool new environments for her and her friends to play in. The 'World Ballet' set is ideal for any ballet obsessed child you may have as it has an entire studio hidden in a tiny foldaway space. The box is a Polly version of the well known ballet music box you can get, but once you open it, you get more than a single ballerina turning on the spot, but unfortunately no tune. There is an impressive play space for a relatively small box. You get a stage and auditorium to play with. Rather than having just the two elements though there is a clever section in the middle that can be moved to reveal the seating/orchestra pit and a new extended stage. With the right type of imagination you could play all the way from rehearsals to the the first night on this one set. Polly is included as is one of her friends, both in ballet regalia. You also get a mini horse and cart, which is a little random, but a fun addition. Perhaps the part in Cinderella before it reverts back into a pumpkin? What I like about this Polly Pocket is that some clever engineering and imagination has gone into making good use of the limited space. The one box contains several different elements of the stage from behind the scenes to the big day. It is all made out of colourful plastic and will last a lot of playing with. For an imaginative child, this will provide a lot of adventures and it does not take up too much space. You could even play with it in the car.
