I grew up with the 90's Stretch Armstrong and I absolutely loved them. I collected them all, kept them all in perfect condition through my childhood and still have them on display (they were my childhood favourite toys). I was delighted to hear of his return going back to his original design and decided to get him for old times sake! Hes great looking (perhaps the face is missing a few minor paint details the original 70's version had) but its fantastic to own this. i could never afford an original and even custom fan made versions can be pretty pricey so this release feels like a great way to own a little piece of history at a very affordable price. With any luck they might do Stretch Monster and Evil X-Ray next and i would absolutely get them! I hope a new generation will love Stretch in the same way i did (Some kids are actually capable of looking after their toys!)

This arrived in super quick time!!Old Armstrong takes me back to when I had one when I was a kid, but it wasn’t as well made as this model. My son is a heavy handed 7 year old, which makes this the perfect toy for him and he absolutely loves it and no matter how hard he is playing, pulling this muscle man one way and the next, it stretches over 4 times it size and it can be tied in knots with no risk of damage. My son had finally put his computer tablet down to play with something else, and this is it, good old stretch Armstrong saves the day and makes my son use his imagination more. Well worth the money and an amazing crimbo present which your kids won’t expect on 25th December!!Go on startyour crimbo shopping early!!??

oh god, my son was so delighted. One of his "friends" destroyed his other version, and this was a bought as a kind of chance birthday surprise. I'm so glad I risked it because he was so pleased with it.....especially the fact it was so much bigger than his original Stretch....we had got him some other stretch toys and these had been ignored until Giant Stretch arrived and suddenly they were all 'rediscovered'.....he was actually more pleased with this than the other things he had asked for....its really nice in these virtual/computer days to actually find a physical toy that is so satisfactory.....have to admit I've even had a few goes during particularly stressful times!

What a wonderful Christmas my son had with this toy....for a few years I have been searching for stretch Armstrong just missing out on purchases, mainly because my son has extreme dexterity difficulties and this is the perfect toy to help him improve without him knowing he is exercising his hands, arms etc... He has had hours of fun twisting turning pulling, getting all the family involved to see how far he will stretch. The abuse poor stretch has undergone is unreal and he is still in one piece. Excellently made toy, giving hours of fun.

I had the original Stretch when I was a kid back in 70's & 80's and have fond memories of it.When my son asked for it as one of his birthday gifts I was pleased to get it.I think the idea of something virtually unbreakable is a real challenge to a kid and my kids have loved trying to stretch him as far as they can.Its as good if not better than the original. Which is unusual as often retro toys are not up to the old standard. We have stretched it a lot, even adults and its always gone back to its original shape.

I bought this as a suprise gift for my 5yr old son. When he saw it, I was greeted with a huge smile and laughter! My son has a great old time stretching Stretch Armstrong and he also uses it for roleplay with his other toy figures. It is now his number 1 favourite 'go-to' toy.Manufacturing is of a good quality and, in my opinion, excellent value for money.I cannot hesitate in recommending it for a child or even a adult (i.e. believe me, it is great for adult stress relief).

Bought this toy for my Grandson despite reading all the awful 1 star reviews elsewhere .I do remember the original version but I can’t say if this is different/better/worse than that one. Like all toys given to children don’t expect it to be treated according to the instructions on the box and as a result don’t be surprised if it:Falls apart/bursts/goes off bang!So far it’s lasted best part of a week and counting. What more can you ask for?PS. He doesn’t need batteries!!

Stretch hangs around our living room. Every now and then someone will pick him up and we will all have a laugh stretching him. He is very stretchy just like the 1 I had as a kid. He always smiles no matter what you do to him. I made sure I told the kids not to pierce his skin because he will have to go into the bin. Great fun for 5mins 10times a day. But at least we interact with each other with this toy which gets top marks from me

My little boy aged 8 bought this with his birthday money to go with Stretch's arch enemy Vac-Man!He has really enjoyed playing with Stretch and has kept him amused using his imagination to come up with different poses and see how far he can stretch him (so far so good - he is still in one piece!)He is a good size and quality and anything that uses their imagination and gets them away from a screen is always worth investing in.

Had the original in 1978, which was one inch taller and slightly heavier, but this new version is just as good, only problem is that the painted on trunks have started to fade and the dye gets on the skin of the figure in other areas and on your fingers, and you have to wash it off, would have been better with the original material pants, but apart from that, all well, great memories from my childhood.

Brilliant toy brought back from the 80's or thereabouts. I gave this to my 9 year old nephew for his birthday and he played with it all day, more than anything else!! Very durable, has long stretchy arms which he said feel super to touch and stretch. All of the children played with it. Lots of fun and now my son and his friends would like on too! Definately a hit with children 6 to 9 years of age.

My brother had one of these when we were growing up one of his favourite toys until some little girl bit it and it broke!! I could think of words... but however To my delight I saw this back in the shops again so I bought it for my son for Christmas It's heavy and very durable - we have tried to stretch everyday to loosen him up but it's still fun to play with and we have all enjoyed

Not as stretchy as you see on the advertisement but our 8 year old loves him. Doesn’t get much use now the novelty’s worn off but she plays with it every now and again.Comes in a box, his arms and legs were a bit bent when he was first taken out, but they went back to the original shape after a few hours. He’s also quite heavy and I think a young child might have difficulty stretching him.

This is probably the greatest toy I've ever given to my kids. I have four boys and they absolutely love it.The actual toy seems to be extremely robust. After some rough play sessions it feels like the insides are damaged, but after sitting overnight it's magically as good as new.I occasionally test the toy, as well - just to make sure it's still working...Thank you Argos!

I bought this for my son who has autism, hoping the texture and feel would help him with his sensory requirements. The figure itself is exactly what you'd expect, though is quite hard to pull without using strength so mightn't be suitable for younger kids.My little boy didn't really take to it sadly, but I still think this is quite a good toy to keep kids entertained.
