I remember the original Polly Pockets from the 1990s. They were like compact mirrors that opened to reveal a mini scene with a mini doll called Polly inside and they fitted in your pocket. As I grew older I was surprised when Polly Pocket products became bigger toys that no longer fitted in the pocket. However now it seems Polly is going back to her origins with this set returning a pocket sized compact containing a play area for a micro Polly.I got this for my 8-year-old daughter. She loves it. She has even taken it to school. The set is an “aquarium compact play set”. The design on the outside is that of a starfish. It also has a ring attached which allows my daughter to clip it onto her coat zip for example (and she has done this to show it off to her friends).Whilst clipped to her the contents within are safe as the clasp closing the starfish compact is secure. On the inside is an underwater scene with the base part having a hinged clamshell with pearl inside of it, and the top part having a sandcastle with a hinged door. There are also mini accessories. There is the micro Polly Pocket doll. She is flexible so can be bended at the waist for example and has sticky feet so that she can be attached to the toy even if the toy is held upside down. She also has a pair flippers that can be attached to her feet, a small dolphin friend who fits in the sandcastle door, and a treasure chest that can be opened to see the gold within. It really is quite intricate which has especially appealed to her 4-year-old brother who loves the little hinge on the treasure chest for example. On the negative side is that my daughter is prone to losing things, especially when they are small, but that is not the toy’s fault. Also the Polly does lose her sticky feet after a while, but supposedly applying sticky tape to the feet will get back their stickiness. But overall this is at current available for under a fiver so great value, and my daughter loves it. Therefore a definite 5-stars.

Polly Pocket Compacts have always been a favourite with children and they have become a collector's item among teenagers and even some adults. My daughter used to collect them during the late 90s and I am now delighted to be able to introduce this new range of Polly Pocket Compacts to my three (nearly four) year old granddaughter.Polly Pocket Tiny Pocket Places Studio Compact is one of the very small ones, these do not have the same playfactor that the medium and larger compacts have, however they are very reasonably priced and I think the idea is to collect some of the others in this range and play with them together...your own little Polly Pocket World. This little compact is shaped like a turquoise flower and opens up into a cute dressing and studio area, complete with turquoise mirror and purple chair. There is a single teeny tiny doll (Lila) included. The surprise element that is always so magical in the larger compacts is missing in these small compacts...in this one there is only a secret supply cabinet and closet door that opens. There is also a desk area complete with sowing machine.A purple keyring is included which means your child can easily attach this compact to their school bag if they like. All in all an interesting addition to an already growing Polly Pocket World collection and our little granddaughter has been having loads of fun with all of them.

My daughter has been going mad on these ever since this one came in the post - she has since made me order the whole set of these (12 in total) and have also bought some of the bigger ones from B & M as they are a little cheaper in there. The price of this set was £4.99 which I would say is really expensive for what is it when I bought the others ones for my daughter they were on offer for £2.50 which I would say is a fair price for them.Tiny is mighty is what they are branding these and to be fair they are really tiny but my daughter have fallen in love with them. There are many different scenes but this one was the art studio witch came with 3 accessories ( stool, art supply chest and painting)and a polly pocket no bigger then a 2p piece if not smaller. We have already lost 1 of the accessories and it was so difficult to get out of the packet as it was so tiny. They are very compact and have loads of functions like openings to reveal different locations and secret surprises like this one had a moving pottery wheel and a opening art cupboard. To be fair I don’t like them one bit as you can’t even fit the 3 accessories and the polly pocket inside it completely but like any parent will tell you “you do and buy things to make your kids happy”

I wasn't sure when I first saw these on the shelves next to the full size rebooted Polly pocket sets with their shaped cases and multiple points of interaction but after trying this one out I'm pleased to say I was wrong and these are SUCH a brilliant idea. Excellent as a treat, collectible small gift or stocking stuffer, they pack so much play value into this little compact it's amazing. This one we have is a little fashion studio with a sewing table with tiny cupboard, machine, super chair, mirror, sewing case and a supply cupboard that opens and the mini Lila doll. There is so much play value especially for a child regardless of gender who loves arts and crafts or has dreams of becoming a fashion designer.I love the fact it's not TOO pink, and it's a creative but skilled career inspired set instead of singing or just walking the runway, the design and making elements are stressed too which is fabulous.I love the key ring attachment for bags etc.I will go and buy More of these for my 5 year old, thy are perfect little micro worlds, ideal for imaginative distraction techniques rather than resorting to a phone and requires much less space than colouring in. The price point for the play value is Brilliant.

Attached is a pic of Polly embracing an almond (for size perspective).I love the fact that my daughter too is able to play with something that we grew up with. There is a 'but'...This is more of a miniature version with the doll height measuring 3cm high - a little taller than an almond.'Mini Pol' - as we call her - can and has, been lost in little nooks and crannies when we are travelling with her. Confusingly, travelling is what she is designed to do.There is an included keyring loop to keep Polly's pocket on my daughter's favourite backpack. This particular range of Pollys are made from rubberised material with her soft flexible (but not bendable) legs. She does have a tendency to go 'boing'when dropped rather than 'thud'.Sadly with the "boing" comes the erratic bounce ..especially on hard floors. Thus panic ensues!Alas, Polly doesn't spend much time in her starry, garish, illuminous yellow sciencey lab. Most of the time she's clasped firmly in my little girl's palm.Fingers crossed! As the rest of the kit is a bit redundant if poor Polly gets lost again.

This little play set is micro sized, but still manages to pack in a considerable amount of content. Folding up into a small locket (or more precisely, compact mirror shape), contained within is a miniature art studio for the included mini doll. There are several accessories, including a paint box, chair and an easel. It’s just the right size for a child to cart around with them and would be a useful item to keep them amused during a meal out or a similar occasion.I like this, along with similar sets from the same range that I have tested, but one star has been deducted for this one as I have been unable to find a way to fold it up whilst containing all of the supplied accessories. As with other Polly Pocket sets, the only real downside is that due to the very small bits this would not be a suitable present for a very young child. To be fair, the age on the packet says 4+ and that is probably about right. My daughter is three and whilst I’m sure she’ll love this, I will be keeping it back to give her when she’s a little older.

As the name suggests, you expect something pretty small from Polly if she is going to fit inside a Pocket. Whilst Polly herself can fit, the cases that she comes in do not always as, although they are not massive, they are still big enough that you will need a sizable jacket pocket to fit them. 'Tiny Pocket Places Awesome Art Studio' is the first outing that the entire thing can fit. You can have an entire art studio in your pocket. With the reduction in size, it does mean this is one of the simplest ‘Polly’ toys you can get. Even so, you get a little art studio, picture, cupboard and art supplies box. It takes what makes the bigger sets fun and manages to squeeze some of it in.The entire toy closes and looks like a charm so you can attach it to a bag with the included clip. At the price this is a proper pocket money toy so a child can pick one up when they please. It may not be as in depth as the bigger sets, but as something to mess about with as you wait in the car or on the bus, it is great.

I never had the original Polly Pockets and my daughter never came across them until now, so I can’t compare this to the original toys. However, she loves these sets so far and we have been happily testing a few of them out. This is one of the smaller sets. Polly Pocket comes with a closet, which opens to reveal clothes, a table with a sewing machine, a chair (with clips, so she stays seated), a mirror and a small sewing kit. The actual compact/locket, comes with an attachment, which allows you to link this to a bag/backpack, so you can take it along with you. These little Polly Pocket sets have sticky patches, allowing the dolls to ‘smart stand,’ unaided. In this set, there is an area in front of the sewing machine, where she can stand. Obviously, this is one of the smaller sets, so the play value is limited, but being able to attach it to a bag is fun and great when you are out and about. Sadly, the chair doesn’t fit inside, which is a shame. However, a nice addition to the range.

As soon as I saw these appear on the Vine I knew I had to have them.I loved Polly Pocket so much as a little girl and these took me back to my childhood. The sets and pieces are quite small but as long as these aren’t given to toddlers/babies there shouldn’t be an issue.I gave this to my 6 year old daughter who absolutely loved this.It is small and there is limited play to this. However, if you invest in a couple other sets then there is tons of fun to have.£4.99 is a fantastic price and with Christmas just gone they would have made great stocking fillers as well as great gifts for other children.Myself and my daughter had loads of fun playing with these sets.I would definitely invest in more. The set itself is excellent quality, well made. Well worth the asking price. These took me straight back to my childhood and I love the fact I can share this with my daughter. Well worth the money for the memories it creates.

This has been another hit with our 5 year old daughter as were the last couple of Polly Pocket toys we got her.Just when you thought they couldn't get any more compact and tiny, this is an ultra small key ring style which is even better for on the go and currently has a permanent home in the little side compartment in our car.Very small and fiddly but when you've got 5 year old little fingers that's no bother at all. This one is a science theme but really the appeal is the rocket and the ability to put the character in and out of the rocket and "fly it around". It comes with little accessories which are just itching to get lost never to be found again but that's par for the course with alltoys at our house at present. For now the set is all intact in the back seat of our car and the little telescope in particular is fun for pretending that the character is looking out of the window and spotting different things.

As an adult I'm impressed with this playset as it is small & tidy, can be played with straight out of the package, it's colourful and requires creative thinking. Also I liked that you get a dolphin companion for your Polly [a Polly doll is included in this set] and a few other little play pieces. As for ages it's untended for I can advice that our 11 year old became bored with this set in little over an hour and branded it as "a kiddie toy", whilst it's popular with our seven and nine year old.At the end of the day this is a children's toy, so I don't feel as though I can judge it too harshly; the peace and quiet I get as this is enjoyed speaks volumes to me.I really recommend this set as a gift too; I think it's especially great for girls in the 5 - 10 age bracket; the colours, designs and creative idea appealed to our girls. Plus it is something that gets played with every other day.
