The Pilot G2 pen has been around for a long time, and I've been using them for at least the last 20 years! Throughout that time they have been the best roller ball available, in my view, and great value for money too.Although listed as gel pens the ink is more fluid than most, but it flows a lot better as a result, and feels more like a fountain pen than a biro in use. Be prepared not to touch your writing for a couple of seconds, or it may smudge. Unlike a biro you don't need to apply pressure to the tip, and that makes your writing more elegant and places less strain you your wrist. Your best writing experience is always with a nib pen, using traditional ink - it gives you a flow and lightness like nothing else. The closest I've come to that is with these G2's, and I find them very enjoyable and rewarding to use when the full fountain pen experience is not practical. These days there are lots of colour inks to choose from but I recommend you stick to the stronger solids like black, red, blue, green. The inks are light-fast too, unlike a biro. The pastel shades and the white in particular will not show up so well on paper. Remember that these are inks, so the white will not stand out well on black or dark card. If that's what you want you need a paint pen instead. A lot of the negative reviews here are due to this misunderstanding rather than the pen itself. Finally, and to the credit of Pilot, the barrel of these pens unscrews, allowing you to fit a refill. That's an excellent feature and helps prevent the waste of chucking out an entire pen when only the ink has run out. The less plastic pollution can be achieved the better, and Pilot are to be applauded here. These are excellent pens, and I long ago threw out my old ball-points in favour of them. Highly recommended!

I wanted to make labels with white text on a black background and couldn't find a suitable transfer set so I went with a white pen. I chose the pilot because I really like there pens - I have packs of G207's in other colours which heavily influenced me decision to choose this pen.Externally, the pen is almost exactly the same. The clear bits are clear and the coloured bits are the same colour as the ink.Well, I say 'ink' but it seemed more like corrector fluid. I know that my other G207's are not as colourfast as the average ballpoint but this was particularly bad. Of course, I wasn't writing on paper or card. I was writing on PVC tape which might be why it didn't seem to set at all and could be wiped off after 5 minutes. In the end I put clear tape over the top to protect the text. This might have been necessary had I been using my other pens so I'm not penalising Pilot too much for this. The pen is still really comfortable to hold and generally flows well.

I used to buy these for use at work as they were such a pleasure to hold and write with. The ink delivery is flawless, they do not ‘gunge-up’ like the cheaper alternatives, and last quite a long time. Don’t bin them when they run out, just buy the refills and keep using. My only complaint is people keeping ‘nicking’ them because they are so good (that includes my wife!!!). I find my writing is a lot clearer when I use these pens as they are so pleasurable to use - the grip is so ergonomic in shape that it is sculpted to be perfectly balanced when resting between your fingers. the pen is very light (not heavy to hold). I used to look forward to taking minutes in meetings just to use this pen!!!I have bought cheaper alternatives, but ink leaking over my fingers and hard rubber resting sleeves just put me off so I returned to buying these. You get what yo pay for I suppose :)

After being one of those people who are constantly finishing exams last (or not at all in some cases), I decided that enough was enough and so bought these pens after reading the positive reviews. They don't feel heavy and bumpy in the hand like most pens and they don't feel like they're actually scraping into the paper - instead they glide quickly over the paper and don't give me a dead hand. With the first time using them, I actually finished my exam second (never done that before) and managed to get a very respectable grade. Not even joking, I owe my exam results to these pens (haha). Will never go into another exam without them ever again!

I love the way these pens just seem to glide across the page, making the chore of writing in this digital age a pleasure rather than a chore. I always have one or two on my desk at home and in work and hate writing with anything else except a nice Parker I keep exclusively for client meetings. Since they do seem to run out quite quickly and go missing occasionally, I decided just to buy in bulk and save money in the long run!The ink does stay damp for a while so is prone to smudging when writing on greetings cards etc. but other than the fact they do seem to run out quite quickly these pens are just a joy to write with.

Absolutely loved these pens, brilliant for general use.I found myself at a loss looking for pens that I could use for taking notes and general work. The market seemed flooded with so many different options, all of which were 'quick drying' and 'comfortable for extended use'. Having gone through a few pens, and made rather a habit of using different pens, I have found that fantastic pen that I was searching for.Look no further than the Pilot G2s.My only (slight) negative was that they seemed to run out a little quickly, but maybe that's because I was writing with them so much because I enjoyed using them!

These pens are pretty much the only thing I write with, sure they're kinda expensive, but honestly, I find it difficult to use anything else after using these for so long. They write so smoothly and quickly that everything else feels slow, like they have a fault, to the point that these don't give me hand cramps when writing huge essays. My only complaint is that they seem to run out quickly, but being a student at college, I tend to write at least 3-4 pages per day, so that's probably why.Final verdict? Great for everything from occasional note taking to writing 10 page essays, would definitely reccomend

These are great pens, they always start (unlike some inexpensive ball point pens), you can leave them in your car, or a pocket and they do not leak...they don't seem to dry-up either. The writing action is smooth, consistent and dense, so it photocopies/scans perfectly. The ink does not generally soak through cheaper paper and never "blobs" and dries quickly/instantly on most surfaces. These pens are really fabulous value from Amazon...if you don't believe me buy one and you will soon be convinced! This retractable version is in my opinion preferable to the capped version as you do not have a cap to lose!

Very comfortable to use. Well built, solid, reliable. However, it was purchased for adding highlights to drawings - and is not best suited to this, since the ink is not opaque enough. It would be better to use this pen on dark card for card craft, as the ink flow is fast, smooth, and the writing can be very fine.Given 4/5 as it didn't fit the purpose I'd bought it for. I'll hang on to it for card writing, etc as it can cope comfortably with that.Uni-ball Signo UM-153 Broad Rollerball Pen turned out to be better, and others say gelly-roll pens are good too, for adding drawing highlights.

I have the neatest writing in the world, at least that it what people say. The font you are reading now is pretty much how I write. Like a computer. These pens are the only ones that are worthy of my skill. I even feel that I should be asked to officially endorse them. Card board cut outs of me beside every shop display, with a speech bubble exclaiming them to be the best pen in the world! In all seriousness they are great to write with and the only pens I use. I have them in three colours for flips sake. Just don't ask me to lend you one of them. That includes my own kids.

Nice feel, strong purple, lively colour as opposed to any other purple, violet, boring pen out there. I used them for marking as per my school marking policy. Unfortunately my school stopped buying them. Too expensive to supply then on a regular basis to over 200 teachers. They are buying now some other brand that does not do the same job in my opinion. I bought one pack myself after the ones given to me run out of ink but I guess I cannot carry on buying them. Marking is gruesome. One does need a lot of ink.

I bought these to compare with the Mitsubishi Uni-ball Gel Grip, which we were not completely happy with. My Mum much prefers to use a soft grip gel pen, because of her arthritis.I liked that the G2 has the advantage of being retractable, delivers a slightly neater script and lasts longer. The pocket grip may also be stronger, but is not something that we use. To be fair the Pilot G2 is more expensive than a Uni-ball, but I think is worth paying a little extra for.

Lovely pens.Comfortable to hold and write with, Helpful for those with arthritis.Unlike many similar pens, the ink dries very quickly, so little risk of smudging. Also is more water resistant.Good strong red ink.Retractable mechanism has proved very reliable.I bought these red pens to be used with black ink refills, as I wanted pens that are easier to find in a handbag.Don't expect the ink to outlive the pen itself. It is wise to have spares in stock.

I like these pens most of all because when you pick them up, click them open and put them to paper they write straight away: no more grinding them down until the ink bleeds out all over the place just to get them working!I find they are easy to hold (a bonus because I have somewhat over-sized hands) and they just write so nicely.I can't find a single thing to moan about as far as these go.Except to say it would be nice if they only cost a penny each...

These pens are great, particularly if you're left handed. Gel pens normally smudge easily which is a pain if you're left handed like me as your hand naturally moves over what you've written. Cue a hand covered in ink and a page in a mess. But not so with the Pilot G207 - the ink looks like it'd smudge easily but just doesn't. Writing is fine, the pen is comfortable and is noticeably better quality than most standard-priced pens you can buy.
