I did spend a little time feeling like an idiot trying to get ink to flow from this pen, and so my advice to others would be to find an innocuous hard surface you can use. Keep pressing the tip in and out on the surface until ink eventually flows.When I finally got it going though, the Pentel wrote very smoothly, evenly, and clearly on various plastic items. It dried much faster than I expected it would, and is very visible. Slower writing will produce the most vivid white.The ink has been outside on those plastic items in wind, rain and sand, and thus far seems to be holding up just fine. I bought this to write on my wheelie bin as I was fed up with getting the wrong bin back on collection day. The effect was a bit watery to look at, more due to pen colour being white and being applied to black plastic. That was a few weeks ago and I notice that the 'paint' is starting to flake off now. Bearing in mind that the bin is out in all weathers I half expected this and, in a backhanded way, I am pleased as it means my next attempt will stand a chance of being neater!

I wanted to write on mains adaptors (black plastic) so I knew which appliance they were for and therefore needed the ink to be opaque and stand-out, it does! Also it needed to be tough and if you let it dry, which is fairly quick, you are left with good, clear wording

Purchased this to write our house number on the rubbish bin. The instructions were easy to follow, but make sure you wait long enough for the paint to come out. If you press too hard too long, there will be a leak, so be careful!

Needed to get it working before using it on a very large rubber doormat which took a minute. It is paint in small cannister with a wood-like 'nib'. That said it writes like a pen and is nice and wide/visible for marking/

Used to write on the plastic bin and pumpkin eyes for Halloween. They lasted the rough weather and the pumpkin is still going strong.Needs shaking and pressing down to release the ink at first but works really well.

Writes on most surfaces, i use it for writing on windscreens and various car parts and as long as the surface is clean, it sticks well. Bright, durable and visible marking.

Thick tip. Great to use for writing in plastic boxes as this was the use I purchased it for. Cap is sometimes difficult to take off since it gets sealed on. Waterproof.

Arrived quickly, was nice and thick. Hopefully nobody will be stealing my recycling bins any longer now that I have written all over them! Just what I was looking for.

This product is fine - although the white marking could be a little stronger. It worked very well on my horses plastic feed bowl but wasn't defined enough on his rug.

Brilliant item the ONLY down side is some things may need overwriting a few times before the white stands out but I will buy it again when I need to.

Very useful for marking darker objects, obviously. Remember to shake the pen a lot and prime to tip to get more white from it! :)

Good marker but only 4 stars because the top is so tight that my daughter-in-law (who I purchased it for) cannot open it herself.

Used this to write our housename on a bit of slate. Worked a charm and has last up against the inevitable Scottish weather.

Bit short for a fine writing, detailed picture , as its small and hard to control it.Good price , does the job
