The pen is superb, feels solid, looks the part and you know its a Parker. But when it comes to the ink refill (even the one that came with the pen), a 20p Biro beats it.Scratchy, inconsistent flow. Something so basic, yet, Parker have let a great product down.I've tried looking for British made refills, but no luck so far in high street shops, their all French. Ordered a box of 12 refills, hopefully one of them at least works.Just a huge disappointment. I remember having great experiences with a Parker pen at school over 20 years ago. Now, it feels like Parker have gone for profits over quality. Shame.I purchased my Girlfriend the Ballpoint Metallic Pink version. Wish i had done the same,it works flawlessly, unlike my Rollerball version.Bottom Line:The pen (minus the refill) is superb. The ink refill (which contains the ball contact point for writing) is worse than a 20p Biro that you've been writing on sandpaper.UPDATE:Been in contact with Parker support (who are great). Turns out the refills have a "shelf life", although there was no mention from Parker what that is, or, if there is any way to check a refill. The UK factory was moved to France around 2007. So if you find a UK refill, your very lucky.Parker have now sent me a free refill, and, it works flawlessly. If you have issues with the refills, get in contact with Parker directly to resolve it.

Smart rollerball with a good solid feel to it, at a price that doesn't break the bank, and from a pen maker with a historic British association (albeit also French and US). Coarser chiselling than e.g. the silver Chisellé (but much more expensive) range. Appearance and reputation matter for me because it's for signing a guest book, but value too, because it might also get ... pocketed ... by an 'inattentive' guest. Came from Amazon .de and delivery was perfectly fast enough. Well packaged. Came with a Black M refill which is tucked away inside the box: the pen itself comes empty, so don't dump the packaging without checking it first! I've replaced the black M refill with blue as that's my preference.Takes a standard Parker refill. I have several 'keeper' pens, including some 40 year old fountain pens still giving sterling service, and this Parker IM hits the 'Goldilocks' price/value point perfectly in this instance. Recommended Parker IM as a model line, and this seller's service.

My pen came in a cardboard gift box, gold cover with black and gold insert, so nicely presented for the price paid. I see some people have complained there is no refill - it is cunningly hidden away in the base of the insert in one of the sides. The pen is good looking, a nice gloss black plastic finish with gold coloured metal trim and area to grip when writing. It feels nice in the hand and fits my preference of a slightly heavier pen (35g with lid, 24g without). The pen itself is 138mm long with cap, 120mm without and 12mm diameter at the widest point, 9mm on the grip. Being a rollerball it writes well with nice even ink flow. The pen is new and the cap fits with a nice reassuring click.I would recommend this pen for your own use or as a gift.

Amazing pen, I suggest you to buy the blister pack, mine arrived with black with refill, I'd say it is medium but I'm not sure, it doesn't looks like an ordinary bic trait of course. The cap snap into the pen with a click, the only annoying part is when you unscrew the pen to put the refill as it does some hiss, but other than that is a superb pen well worth the price (blister) I insist on blister pack since having ordered a gift box one time ago it arrived in a cheap paper box. I'll update this review should any problem arise at a later time, my main concern is about the painting, I'll let you know in case. If you have any questions leave a comment I daily check my e-mail box.

This rollerball pen is a decent weight and is very comfortable to use and grip. The gold metal is highly polished and includes a nice pattern engraved in the section by the nib. The lid fits on very securely so it doesn't feel like it could fall off at any moment. The black glossy body of the pen doesn't seem to pick up scratches easily which is very handy if placed in my pocket. Overall this pen looks very, very nice and is comfortable enough to be used all day. It also writes fluidly without thinning the ink out, even with little pressure exerted on the pen; this produces an even finish on your writing.

This is a beautiful pen, has a great feel and at the time a bought it was amazing value at just over ten pounds. It is a top quality pen in my view. There was no refil in the pen and I was very annoyed at first but found the refil hidden out of sight. You have to lift out the card on which the pen is mounted, and on the underside along one edge the refill can be found, but because the cardboard surrounds it, you can not see it is there!!! I note a lot of reviewers say the pen came with no refill and I wonder if they made the same mistake as I nearly did. Such a shame if that is the case.

I really like this pen. It looks classy and several people who have seen me use it have specifically commented on how good it looks. I like rollerball pens in general as I like the way the ink flows when writing with them ... though the replacement ink is a little expensive. The pen has a nice weight / feel. I also like the fact that the top stays nicely in place while in use.... this seems such an obvious basic thing but in my experience not all pens manage this.Overall I have been using this pen for months and still like this more than any other pen I have ever used.

I bought this for my Dad for his 50th, seeing as he isn't a fan of tacky gifts with reminders of his age.As soon as I held the box I was impressed; the pen is neatly presented in the pictured box, which has a sort of velvet lining and has ribbon in too. When you pick the pen up, you can feel its weight and the chiseled detail. The product, to my surprise, also comes with one rollerball cartridge. If you pull out the ribbon where the pen lies and take it out, on the inside of a cardboard part is a Parker cartridge. It saved me the trouble of buying one with the gift!

really like this pen, the only reason it has only four stars and not five is because 1. it doesnt have to weight of a really good quality pen (im sorry parker but your quality is slipping slighty)......and 2. the fitment of the actual pen nib looks quite shoddy, i mean you can see the plastic edge to refil and it just screams CHEAP.....come on parker! after building up a name for quality you do dissapoint....i was looking at a freally expensive one but i am so glad i only bought this otherwise i would be devistated if it was the same quality

The pen is absolutely fine, the metal work and craftsmanship is exquisite. However, after searching everywhere I could think of in the package, I could not find the rollerball refill that was supposed to come with it.After turning upside down the package content I finally spotted the refill, hidden on the back of the carton support on which the rollerball is seated. The refill is the "Fine" version and sometimes the writing is smooth but there are often the instances where the writing is scratchy.

Nice and weighty for a pen and the carved markings in the accurate gun metal grey case and actually made of aluminium is heavy enough to know your holding it but comfortable enough to use on long periods... i know i have to do law essays and exams, the pen is fluid in ink but took a little while to get it all in the nib. after that it is perfect and does not break in ink dispense and isn't rough over the paper.. Well recommended and is £25 in WHSmiths, bargain here!!

I have had this Pen just over a week now and must say it looks gorgeous and is much more glossy than in the picture which really looks great against the steel , I did think may be prone to scratching but so still looking great .Very happy with this pen and is a very good price for such a high end looking pen a bit of a steal as I have seen this in WH Smith up for £35 , which I very nearly paid as I liked it so much but thought I would check Amazon and glad I did .

The pen is delightful, and exactly as described. The packaging is perhaps a little too good, as it neatly hides the refill within its folds (under the main pen (within the folded card). At first glance it looks as though there is no refill, but look a little closer into the folds of the card and you will find it. I wanted a pen to encourage my son to enjoy the pleasure of writing, I am sure this will do the trick,

Bought this as a present - looks elegant and has a nice weight to it.My only minor gripe is that the ink cartridge sits too tightly within the shell, straining the thread.Don't be shocked when you pull the cap off, but find no ink cartridge inside the pen. The manufacturer has decided to hide it away in a small side compartment. You need to flip over the inlay holding the pen to get to it. See attached picture.

Sturdy construction, feels really solid.I found that as a lefty I needed to adopt a more upright writing grip, as angles that are a little flatter don't work as well with this (Bic pens allowed me to write with a very slanted grip)it's lasted for ages and looks fantastic.would recommend as an entry level pen (so if you're used to disposable pens, this'll feel great, can't speak for the pen connoisseur though!)
