Great value multipack for school or office use, easy to write with and doesn't smudge as i first thought they would but still longer than a standard biro (it will if you swipe at it within seconds of writing). The nibs are really thin and if you write hard then you will definitely dent the paper or scratch it so i think these will not be for every one. Pens are definitely marmite for most people, but i don't mind writing with anything as i don't do it hours a day.I agree with some other comments that sometimes they make a squeaky noise when writing in full flow which isn't too annoying to be honest. They are definitely quite dry to begin with until you get writing a little, and i do feel the ink will not last as long as a standard length biro, in saying all this i would use them again, nice to hold and strong lid!

This is a value pack of 12 fine tip (0.5mm) gel pens from Papermate available in Black or Blue. I got the black ones. The nib is fine and they write very smooth. The body of the pen is plain transparent plastic with a series of ridges near the tip for grip. They are ok to hold but not as comfortable as pens with a silicone grip area which I prefer. The ink flows nicely and is great for regular writing as well as fine work (annotations, highlighting or even sketching) but being gel ink it does take a few seconds to dry so you have to be careful not to smudge it. All in all a decent set of budget pens but if you are writing a lot I'd recommend getting ones with a more comfortable grip area.

Very reliable pens, allow for smooth and easy writing despite the fact that I tend to press pens too much when writing. I use them for grading papers. Not quite red and yet distinguishable from almost whatever my students are using to write. As a side story about their reliability - I was trying to fill some forms and paperwork while flying and a competitor's gell pen refused to work. In the end, I had to use my purple grading pen to finish that paperwork. Out of curiosity, I did another test when next time being on a flight with the same results against a different pen.Of course both of the other pens were working Ok when on the ground again.

Review of the needle point (0.5mm) gel penThe needle-point Paper Mate gel pen writes reliably with no interruption to ink flow and it produces a precise line as you'd expect from such a fine nib. The body of the pen is ridged to allow grip and it's probably just personal preference on how comfortable you find it (it's great from my perspective). There's a small rubber insert in the pen cap to protect the nib and it's fallen out in a couple of the pens I've tried and is difficult to replace properly but that's a small quibble in a pen that's priced at around 40p (i.e. Amazon are currently selling at £4.20 for 12).

Based on the first one I tried I was going to write a negative review as it was very scratchy but I tested another four and they were much better - only a little bit scratchy. I am not convinced they are an improvement over previous gel pens I have tried but they write fast and produce a smooth line without frayed edges and it doesn't smudge. Overall a cheap looking pen but decent pen for rough work.

Love the fine nibs on these pens. I am always on the look-out for the finest biros I can find, so these are just up my street. It may be just a personal thing, but I think my writing looks a lot better when I use these or similar, in comparison to my usual scrawl. Also, they are made by PaperMate, so I know they are more sturdy and going to last longer than the cheapo ones I usually get.

These pens have good ink flow and comfortable to hold with a nice non slip print but they are quite scratchy sounding. They are product very thin Mark's and I feel its improved the look of my writing I've also used them in my colouring books to add detail. At the price on review and the amount you get I feel these are good value

If you enjoy a superfine pen, whether for a handwriting choice or for artistic purposes, you couldn't do much better than these for value for money. The pens are comfortable and light and draw a tidy fine line.I shall be taking these to work as a worthy addition to my personal stationery drawer!

I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme. Good value gel pens, currently £4.21 for a dozen = 35p each.0.5mm nib, the pen writes smoothly, has a light finger-grip moulded to it and an effective pocket clip.Good product, good price: 5 stars.

Love the style of the pen and the structure of the pen but they bleed so much it's sometimes such a mess I need to start over. I bought them to be able to use with journals but won't use them because they will ruin them.

I love Gel pens, these ones are great to write with, thin but gliding on the page, and they are much cheaper than any similar ones!
