My kids are always losing pens, so to get a 50 pack of pens for around a tenner (at time of writing) is great, because it means they should always have a pen handy, even if they lose one or two of them, and it doesn't cost the Earth.This is a pack of 50 Paper Mate ballpoint pens, all of them black (50 x blue also available). Perhaps they could have mixed the colours with half black, half blue, but black is fine and is the colour most people use anyway. They are different from Bics in that they are circular whereas Bics are hexagonal. The hexagonal design does help with grip I feel, but these have a nice soft rubbery part at the holding bit of the pen to help with making your grip comfortable.

Everyone needs a box full of great pens in their office, be it at home or at work. These pens are low cost and great value for money but have a couple of distinctive features that set them above the competition. Firstly the removable cap snaps into place, so you can tell by the sound that it is firmly on. It's flexible pocket clip is great too, making this pen easy to carry around in a jacket. Secondly, it has a plastic grip to hold the pen with just about 4cm from the end, which is really good for holding the pen in place but soft on fingers. The pen body is slimmer than some of its competitors, which is good for me and the ink runs straight away,

The grip you can get on these pens is good, you can use them for a long time, with light or heavy lean on them without your hand cramping up, the lids dont become detached accidentially easily and they dont roll all around the desk when the cap with its clip is in place to prevent them doing so.The flow of the ink from the pens is good and even, this is consistent throughout all the pens I randomly selected from the box of many, there where no air bubbles in any of the ink reservoirs and therefore no blotting or smudging or drying out of the pens when writing or sketching with these pens.The cardboard box is of very fine card (it was squashed flat inside the bubble wrap packaging that I received it in)

With fifty pens in a box, these are great value for money – useful if, like me, you use a lot of pens. Or maybe it is more that they seem to disappear, but, certainly, I can never have enough of them – at work, at home, for my kids. So, buying a large box like this, might mean I have some at hand; at least for a while.These are ballpoint pens, with a cap and black ink. These are fairly basic in design, but the cap does have a clip – always useful . They are labelled as having a comfort hold, but the ‘soft grip’ part of the pen is not particularly soft. I do have some pens (of another make) which really does have a soft grip, which makes them easier to hold. Still, that aside,

The Paper Mate Fine Point box of 50 pens is very good value and provides a pen that writes easily and clearly with bright black ink. Mine started writing staight out of the box with no scribbling required to get the ink to flow.The comfort soft grip is OK and certainly better than no grip. The cap with the spring finger does a good job of holding the pen in place in your pocket or bag.This is a good quality writing utensil that performs just as good as many more expensive models. It lasts a long time with the fine ballpoint and large quantity of ink in each pen and when it inevitably gets lost or misplaced, it is cheap to replace with the next one out of the box.

These pens are comfortable to hold and use. The ink is free flowing, and seems to flow easier than other brands. The pen feels like it's a a bit finer than normal ballpoints but that's probably more to do with the design of the tip, which is more like a propelling pencil tip than a standard ballpoint. Thickness of ink on the page is about the same, perhaps marginally narrower but I'm splitting hairs really. Good value give how many you get in the box. The only minor negative is that the lids do not stay on the back of the pen very well when in use, so can be easy to loose - when you put them back on the front they clip into place, but not so on the back.

Paper Mate is definitely one of the leading brands in day-to-day ballpoint pens, and you expect very high standards from such a brand. These pens whilst write really well, and I like the smoothness of the ink flow, and that it is a fine point. I did find that they are not any comfier to hold than any other ballpoint pen of the same category which is a little disappointing, and hence 4 and not 5 stars. They are comfier than hexagonal shaped pens (this are cylinder shaped), but a small coasting of rubber or a softer plastic would definitely make this 5 star pens.

Pens around my house disappear at an alarming rate so I'm very pleased with this box of 50 black pens. I absolutely love pens with a fine point and this one I would definitely recommend for that. The pen itself is very thin and smooth so your hand does tend to slide down a bit to easily - so in that respect I wouldn't call them comfort grip. So these pens are probably not great if you are planning on doing lots and lots of writing in one go. If its just the odd shopping list, birthday card or forms you're filling out this is a great black pen.

I may be one of the few people I know that is still using pens. I write in notebooks, jot down drafts for fiction stories, and even still use a paper shopping list. I send cards, write letters to friends, and have numerous reasons to keep a pen handy. Paper Mate is a trusted brand, and these pens write easily, with a good flow of ink. No smudging or blobbing, and no need to shake them around to get started.What more can you say? Great pens.

Good pens, they write beautifully with a nice fine tip even for a heavy handed person! The only negatives I’ve found it the lid doesn’t slot on and stay at the end of the pen when writing it comes off easily. The pen could also be comfier to write with, it’s still quite hard and uncomfortable when writing for any length of time, a little extra fusion on the pen Or coating would make it even better but overall it’s a good quality pen.

There is nothing like a reliable Papermate to give style to any presentation or letter. It might seem as through handwriting is going out of style being replaced by texts and other new social media but there are many many documents that require the formality of a black pen (easy to photocopy)This box should be enough to keep the family in ink for quite a while or a classroom of pupils busyHighly recommended product

very pleased with this product. This is exactly what I was looking for...I love a fine point pen. Ink does not smudge. I did not give five stars because I haven't used the pen enough to say whether the ink lasts long or runs out quickly. Hope this helps! :)

I love love love this pen. I’m a student so I am constantly on the hunt for a good comfortable pen and I’m a fan of a fine nib which isn’t typically easy to get in a store. The grip is nice and the nib and the ink is smooth.

These pens are comfortable to hold, don't smudge and last a long time. A box of 50 is perfect to have around the home or to use in the office.For the price I think these are amazing value for money!
