I'm genuinely surprised at some of the other reviews on here for the Pampers nappies in general. We've been buying Pampers Premium Protection from Amazon and Tesco (depending on price and how quickly we've needed them) for the last 4.5 years, and have never noticed any difference between the two other than the packaging and pack sizes. They are the same quality and work the same, they don't leave marks on our daughters' skin and the tabs work fine. Leaks happen with all nappies, again we've never noticed any difference (make sure the frilly bits around the legs aren't tucked inside and you can fold the back over 1cm to help stop poo shooting up their backs as some other nappies like Mamia or Lupilu are a bit more elasticated across this back bit,so this is probably the only fault I find with these nappies). We use Pampers despite them being more expensive than supermarket own brands because our daughters are allergic to other nappies (eczema and extreme nappy rash with any other brand). I really like the wetness indicator, particularly for newborns because you can quickly see through a vest leg-hole whether the nappy needs changing, rather than poking them and waking them up or having to undress them. Amazon track the supermarket prices quite well so it's worth comparing before you buy. The boxes they come in are quite useful for storing baby clothes etc in, and the plastic packaging can be recycled in your local supermarket carrier bag collection boxes.We do use the other Pampers nappies at night - Baby Dry - because they last longer without leaking, so if baby sleeps through the night (ha ha), you don't want to be waking them up just to change a nappy. The main difference seems to be that these Premium Protection nappies have the wetness indicator, which the Baby Dry don't, but the Baby Dry have channels so that if baby is sleeping in one position all night the channels spread the wetness evenly across the nappy rather than it collecting in one point and then leaking when it's full.The one thing I would say is don't bother with the Size 2 nappies for Pampers as the absorbancy isn't much better than the Size 1 but they are more expensive. You would be better off staying in the cheaper Size 1s until baby outgrows them (all babies are different so this may not correspond precisely to the weight guide on the packet) and then go straight to Size 3 as they are consecutive weight-wise (Size 1 is 2-5kg and Size 3 is 6-10kg) but the absorption of the Size 3 is much better than Size 2. We bought one of the jumbo packs of Size 2 and barely got through them all before needing the next size up.

As nappies go, these do exactly what the are supposed to do. As long as they are placed and securely fastened they will not leak (took about 2 nappy changes to perfect the positioning). There is sufficient absorbency material to soak up the contents of the fullest bladder. The colour changing wetness indicator lets you know at a glance that it is time for a change. I periodically check the nappy regardless of indicator, but after several hundred changes I have only had one instance where the indicator failed to change colour, so it is pretty trustworthy. Wetness is locked away, but obviously the liner isn't completely dry,but if you are caught out and can't change the nappy straightaway you do have a bit of elbow room before the soiled nappy becomes a skin problem.Some of the moisture of bowel movements are drawn out, but as with any nappy there is no way to keep this off the skin, so a change asap is required.The elasticated sides are soft and easily follow the contours of the skin and help to keep unpleasant odours from becoming overwhelming - not that there is any escape from what needs to be done! The internal lining is soft and the external shell is tougher and has attractive gender neutral designs and colours. They come packed in a plastic sleeve which keeps them compressed and they are folded in half to form a slim package. You can easily pack a days supply in a small bag with all the other essentials.One thing I will advise is that when purchasing these look at the different pack size options and cost. Prices on Amazon fluctuate and sometimes you get a better deal if you buy a smaller pack size. At the time of review the size 2 nappy 1x240 pack is 33GBP where as 3x80 packs works out as 30GBP. Same number of nappies for 3GBP less.Bottom line (no pun intended) a secure and quality nappy at a reasonable price.

Before receiving this pack I had never used Pampers before, I had used Huggies (no longer manufactured in the UK) and three different supermarket own brand nappies - which I'd been quite happy with. I had been put off using Pampers because of reviews I'd read which complained that they had an overly chemical smell.I received 6 packs of 40 size 2 nappies (making the 240) and when I first opened them up I wasn't too impressed - they seemed to be much thinner than the nappies I was using and I wasn't sure that they'd be that good.However, I've been more than pleasantly surprised. They didn't seem to have a stronger chemical smell than any of the other nappies I've used. Though thinner than other nappies,they seem to absorb both wee and poo very well and probably better than other nappies I've used. The wetness indicator is great, especially at night as it means I haven't had to take the nappy off to see if it's wet - I can just look at the front of the nappy to see if the strip has changed colour. The waistband of the nappies is nice and wide which I think makes them a more comfortable fit and I like the different pictures used on the front of the nappies. I am seriously considering having a small supply of Pampers to use at night.The but... part of the review comes in on the price. I don't think I can actually afford to switch to Pampers. I think the design and the quality of the product is there and if I had more money I'd almost definitely change brands. But with supermarket own brands being so much cheaper I'd have to be using considerably more own brand nappies in comparison before I could justify a change to Pampers. I would also be cautious about buying 240 nappies when your baby is getting close to going up to the next size as you could easily find yourself with a lot of leftover nappies.

With the arrival of our new born son, we refrained from buying lots of disposable nappies in order to be able to test a few of the different products available on the market, so as to ensure that we made the right decision and got best value for money. We found that pampers nappies were much more effective over Huggies and that of some of the generic brands.The pampers new born nappies are very compact, lightweight and very absorbent. The large 240 box of nappies are conveniently broken down into 4 individual packages which is useful for storage. Like most nappy manufacturers though, these packs are tightly vacuum sealed which can make retrieval challenging for the first few nappies!The sides of the nappies have good sized wings and form a good fit around our son.They peform really well for wet nappies and we have rarely seen any leaks of wee but in the early days of loose breastfeeding poo they did leak poo up his back on more than one occasion, although having spoken to other parents this doesnt seem to be any more than any other brand and I accept that some leaks may be inevitable. The wetness indicator is a bit gimmicky but nevertheless helpful. They are quick and easy to use and the tabs stick well to the nappy, although we have had a one or two isolated instances where the tabs have broken off when trying to free them from the nappy.Overall though, these nappies are very good value for money, easy to use and will keep your new born dry and happy!

To say these nappy are thinner than normal nappies but work just as well if not better is good news for the baby's comfort. The yellow thin through the middle front to back changes colour from yellow to green to let you know if the nappy is wet and needs changing.The softness of the elasticated leg cuffs is perfect for the baby's comfort, some we have bought have been a little harsher we found. The entire nappy seems soft and so must be better for your baby.I like how thin they are it is easier to pack more for travelling instead of taking a whole bag. I couldn't smell an chemical smell like some have said, so some must have a keener nose than me.I mean no nappy smells like talcum powder so I cant see the fuss unless they were harmful to the baby.The wide soft band that allows you to close & reopen, has a good grip and stretchy tabs to get the nappy to a perfect fit.I have always like all types of pampers and find them better than cheaper ones especially when they are teething as it locks away the strong 'p' that smells of ammonia, so seems to be kinder on the baby.They work out at a bag of 40 nappies for £5.

Got these new pampers for my not quite born grandchild, so have to be honest and say they haven't yet been used in a real life situation. However, here's what I can say about them. They are made out of very soft, absorbent material with elasticated sides to prevent leakage. They are held in place with velcro-type fasteners - not as strong as velcro of course, but strong enough for their purpose. A useful innovation is the stripe running the length of the nappy that changes colour when wet, this showing when the nappy needs to be changed. They come in packs of 40, each pack weighing about 900g according to my kitchen scales. Buying online in bulk seems like a sensible way of buying nappies,which can add a lot of bulk to the weekly shop. A pack of 240 works out at a very reasonable 12.5p per nappy. If any more worthwhile observations come to light once grandchild is born, I'll let you know.ps. July 2013. My daughter, who is now using these nappies on her newborn son, confirms that they are truly wonderful, and is particularly impressed by the wetness indicator stripe.

Although Pampers nappies are relatively expensive (a lot of my friends swear that Aldi nappies are just as good as Pampers at half the price!) I use them for my 5-month-old baby because they are soft, strong and gentle on her eczema-prone skin. However, they do need to be changed frequently as they get wet quickly, unlike Pampers Baby Dry (which I am not really a fan of). I do like the little blue urine indicator and find it extremely helpful!As a busy mum with a busy husband, I was getting tired of buying new nappy packs every few weeks. This looked like a fantastic deal as I usually buy approximately 100 nappies at Tesco for around £14.I'm pretty sure this pack will be enough until baby moves to size 3.PICTURED: This pack comes in a big box with 3 bundles of 2 packs with 40 size-2 nappies each!For Pampers parents who want to save time and make sure that baby doesn't run out of nappies for at least one month, this is definitely a useful and inexpensive deal.4 stars because Pampers themselves can be a little too pricey!

Having stocked up on Huggies before our newborn arrived, we quickly discovered that Huggies were to cease selling most of their products in the UK.What to do?We pondered several brands, including several supermarket own brands, but read a lot of good things about Pampers.The switch between brands could not have been easier, and our little man didn't even notice - and he can be very sensitive when it comes to nappy matters :-)I've got to say that I actually think that these are better nappies than Huggies. They are incredibly absorbent, and our little one does like a good wee! And the strip on the front of the nappie turning from yellow to green is the perfect indicator for when it is time for a change.Be aware that these 240 nappie boxes are huge,but are conveniently split down into 4 packs of 60 - so be sure that you have space to stash them. We worked out that each of these boxes would last for close to a month, and at 0.12p nappie, these are amazing value for money!We could not be more happy.

These are right up in the market-leaders pack for a reason - they are easy to put on, comfortable for baby, not too bulky in use (quite a slim profile) absorb semi-solids and liquids very efficiently and most importantly THEY DO NOT LEAK! OK, if you don't change them as needed then they eventually have a point of no return - but in my opinion these are the best you can get. I know there's an environmental argument for going right back to towelling nappies, which need soaking then washing, but frankly if you do the audit of water use, electricity consumption, wear-and-tear on a washing machine and so on I doubt there's much in it in real terms, and for a busy parent these are the cat's pyjamas.They do have a colour-coded patch which shows when the nappy is getting too wet, but most parents can soon see when a change is needed. For baby poo they do a resonably good job of smell containment but even then, you'll still know! Economise elsewhere at your peril. Steve Riches, Northampton, UK.

Amongst the best nappies on the market, definitely get what you pay for. Pampers expertise speaks volumes, snug fit no accidental leakage and easy disposability. The design of the nappies helps keep the obvious mess a baby makes in these away from a babies skin thus avoiding skin irritations and discomfort. A wetness indicator will show you howIn addition to the quality of the nappy products when compared to other nappies they are great value for money. The 240 pack should last a while for most babies and does away with the need to regularly. I wouldn't trust my money on another brand they great nappies and at this price a steal (almost).Get them you wont regret it and if your baby could talk they would probably agree.Pros:-Soft-absorbent-easy fastening-easy disposable-good value-wetness indicatorCons:None so far!

As a newbie I was very surprised by the size of the box that arrived when I ordered this. Who knew that 240 nappies could take up so much space? I guess I'm just lucky these were the newborn size (2) as otherwise it would have been even more alarming. Still, I am glad to have a large storage space to put these as the box is not an insignificant size.So what's inside? The nappies are packed in sets of 40, with two sets attached. These are a much more handy size for packing away in cupboards. The nappies themselves are high quality. The wetness indicator is a huge bonus when you compare it to cheaper value brands.I will definitely be buying Pampers again. Despite the higher cost,the quality is good and the bulk pack does make the purchase more economical so this is a good way to go.

There is no denying that for many mothers, the choice has to be supermarket brands in these harsh economic times. However, there is no denying that Pampers are the superior nappy. Having had three children, I have tried all brands, including Pampers, Huggies, Boots, Morrison's, Tesco and Sainsburys and Pampers are better by miles, particularly for new borns. They protect their extremely sensitive skins, are able to hold significant amounts of fluid, (that's wee to you and me!) and none of my children have had nappy rash wearing these. They are very easy to fasten and unlike other nappy, the Velcro bits rarely tear. They are not the cheapest nappies, though Amazon usually have good offers,but they are the best overall!

I've used Pampers nappies on all of my children (2 year old twins and 5 month old) since birth and they've never failed me. New Baby ones in the first sizes and then Baby Dry from thereon. The new baby nappies have a wetness indicator in the form of a yellow stripe down the length of the front which turns blue once baby has wee'd. If it is a patchy stripe then its not very full and can be left on baby a bit longer. They absorb a lot of wetness though we never leave more than a few hours between changes in the early weeks. They have a cut out on the front where the umbilical cord is so that the nappy doesn't cover it, it can still be folded down at the waistband if necessary though.

This product offers great value for money and quality. It comes in quite a big box but is packaged well and it always works out better value to buy in bulk. Saves you a heavy trek to a supermarket/child store also. These nappies are divided into packs of 40 attached in twins (80 nappies). Three lots of those all together. I have tried other brands of nappies on my baby and pampers are by far the best. They have a wetness indicator and the material is soft and comfortable for baby. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend these for any newborn. You might want a pack of the next size up on standby though as you can never really tell how quickly your baby will grow out of them.

Great value for money and a great product! What more can I say?As the size says, these are suitable from birth, specifically 3kg-6kg (or 6lbs-13lbs if you prefer).As there are 240 nappies inside the box, you can imagine it's quite a large package to take delivery of. Luckily we had space to store them and ended up leaving everything in the box in the hallway. So be sure you have room to keep them somewhere.The nappies themselves are nice and soft and with a smell of sanitation. They fit well, are elasticized around the legs and the waist is adjusted simply by sticking down the tabs where necessary. Highly recommended.
