I received these as a Christmas present from my wife. We live out in the sticks where there is very little light pollution. The regular night vision works great and I can see well up to 100 yards. With the IR turned on they work even better. I was able to spot the neighbor's dog at around 75 yards and it was like seeing in the daytime (without the night vision he was completely shrouded in darkness). The graininess of the green image can cause focus to be a little touchy, but patience and small adjustments bring great rewards. I was able to get a sharp focus on our mailbox at about 100 yards from the house. These binocs also work great if you want to look at the stars, altough they are a little heavy to hold over your head for long periods of time. One improvement would be a tripod mount, but that is a small thing.Outdoor lights on neighboring houses tend to light up the screen quite a bit, so I'm not sure how they would work in urban or suburban areas. However, they would be perfect for camping.Overall, I thnk they are a great set of entry level NV binocs. They are exactly what I was hoping for.

I bought these binoculars for my dad's 80th birthday. We have a holiday home in the Scottish highlands and we wanted to see what was around during the hours of darkness. During the latter half of 2020, we have seen lots of red deer, barn owls and wildcats. Things we wouldn't have seen without them. There are only a couple of complaints.First of all, the focusing wheel is rather stiff and difficult to turn. Secondly, the binoculars work best on moonlitnights, but moonlit nights are cold, and the heat from your eyes steams up the lenses when you are looking through them. You get around 30 seconds of perfect vision and then the lenses steam up.You have to hold the binoculars away from your face for around 40 seconds until the condensation on the lenses clears. This is a problem for all binoculars in cold conditions and is not specific to these binoculars however. On the whole I am reasonably happy with them, but for another £300 I could have bought my dad a decent thermal imagingmonocular, and if i had the choice again this is the route i would go down.

Only one night of experience using this device, for research and recreational purposes. Saw a Potoo (nightbird) preening and scratching with its leg in good moon light and close distance. You can see in good detail (like a tarantula eating a beetle) in total darkness using the built-in infrared (IR) beam at close distances (it can focus as close as about 1 meter!). Not sure yet if when using the IR beam some animals are able to notice it, somehow it gave me that impression. Focusing can be a bit difficult when events happens fast and subject moves, but this just takes some time for getting used to it and for learning the technique for a handy focusing.Had a low performance only at highly contrasted shadows of full moonlight (IR beam off), but this is probably due our visual capacity limits, I would like to see in the near future a thing like this with high dynamic range capability, in real time (not in recorded imaging/filming) if possible of course.

Just delivered .Night Owl Binoculars. Easy to set up and after a bit of twiddling ready for use. I had years ago bought a one eye piece night vision binoculars and in one word RUBBISH. don't waste your money.I turned off all the lights and went into the garden. There in the pitch darkness was a mouse sitting on the bird table, enjoying bits the birds had left. It was a wonderful thing to see. You can see details of his bright eyes and long whiskers. These are the best Night Vision Bins for the money. For any animal or bird watcher a great treat. Would make a wonderful Christmas pressie. I just bought my present to me early. So happy Christmas to me . Best buy yet .Highly recommend.Just need an anorak and I am complete.

I just purchased these binocs from Amazon and before I received them I was fearful of what I ordered. I was more than pleasantly surprised by what I got. First, it took no time at all to get them(2 days!). Second, these things do exactly what they're supposed to do, let you see in the dark. We watched deer for hours in total darkness. It was a 3/4 moon and they gathered so much light, they did not have to be switched on! The infrared is also great! I watched mice running around a brush pile in pitch black. Well worth the money! I compared prices and this is in line with other sellers(better than most).

these binoculars really work well. i had purchased a monocular, with little magnification, and was displeased (returned it). this has enough magnification, but not too much (otherwise your field of view becomes very small and hard to focus). the "high beam" infrared is also real nice. we've been watching nocturnal animals from our second story window with clarity and ease.

I've never owned any night vision product, but always wanted one. Decided on the binoculars for night viewing of animals. These binoculars are awesome. With some ambient light, you can see clearly for hundreds of yards. In complete darkness, the IR works great. I was not sure about generation one technology, put these are great for what I want them for.

Good View- no batteries included - Really? One would think that for this much money, one battery to enjoy the unit upon arrival is not too much to ask.As for product quality, it seems to be rugged enough. The viewing quality without LED Illuminator is ok - very bright with the illuminator. For a Gen1, this is a good viewer.

I was blown away at the hundreds of yards of view with these night vision binoculars! Unmatched, as I also own night vision monocular or single sight IR which can barely see 10 feet! I live next to a very large cranberry bog and watched a cayote, at 300 yards in complete darkness, walk along the far bank. Amazing

Major draw back is that there really isn't a instruction manual with this. Granted this isn't rocket science but it would be nice to know, for example, what kind of battery these need. Other than that they are performing well. I got them to spot owls at night but haven't had the opportunity to do that yet.

Great bit of kit for the sale price. Spent hours watching where hedge pigs go in the garden so that I know what they want to feed on, and whereFamily of Tawny owls teaching their sprigs to hunt in the ash trees behind me occupied many hours last night.

I purchased these for my husband for Christmas. He loves them! They are very easy to set up and the range is really good for the price. The only drawback on them is the battery price.

I purchased these about a year ago, and WOW. They are very easy to set up and the clarity is amazing. Just don't forget to buy a battery was not included.

Got these to see dozens of deer crossing our property at night in southern Indiana. Both my wife and I love them. Focus is best with minor adjustments.
