The cap is good, i use it with a 1,5 L nalgene bottle and it seals the bottle ok. The hook or ring shape of the lid is strong enough that i can carry the bottle by the cap. Usually when i do this i also engage the safety metal ring in the front.Only cons is the price.

Bit more fiddly than I was expecting but can still open it with one hand and much easier to drink from than the original nalgene caps
