Yes, in some ways it's just another hidden object game. There are 3 types of hidden objects, which are always in the same place, though the list might vary: a list of static items, or a group of silhouettes of objects, which aren't always what they seem at first glance, or a hunt for moving items in the scene. You'd think the latter would be easy, but sometimes there's just a tiny flower or beetle moving, or a very slow movement which is easy to miss. I quite often give up and use a hint on the last one, and then think "surely that wasn't there when I went round?" But of course it must have been. There are various games & puzzles, including the inevitable "what's different" in 2 similar photos. All that's par for the course, and as a simple game it may or may not be what you're looking for. But let's face it, it does say it's for age 7+. So not necessarily for adults. But for me there's more to it. First there's an intriguing fictional hunt for the identity of the Ripper. This takes you all round London looking for clues and meeting a mysterious young lady in the process. Second, the actual graphics are surely from real photographs. And you visit places in London where you have visited in real life or have never heard of but now wish you were there. One shop has vintage clothes and handbags and I still keep looking enviously at some of the bags. I've been to Pollocks Toy Museum many times and experience pure nostalgia every time I end up there in the game. Been there, seen that, etc. Having been round the Whitechapel Bell Foundry several times in the game I suddenly found myself looking at the identical pictures on a TV program about bells, which visited the Foundry. I got quite excited. So for me it really brings London alive, and may even persuade you to visit some of the places mentioned.I can't say "buy it and you won't regret it" because you might. I've played it several times and will continue to do so, as I enjoy, it even though I know what's coming. Though I wish I'd been able to get it at £3.97 instead of whatever I paid at M....'s. It's worth it to me for the graphics alone. At 70+ with typically declining eyes I've long had to give up decent games which swing around all over the place, like Harry Potter chasing Malfoy on a broomstick.

This game is different and suspect it's probably a sleeper which will become a classic game later on. The photo quality of the graphics is different to other games and because of this you've to pay quite a bit of attention to the details, look a things and spend some time. The feeling is that you've gone into a place or a room so you get to look around the room you're in - floor, ceiling, walls from different angles. I loaded this game up, thought 'what's this?', initially didn't understand it, had a bit of a go at spotting the groups of items or specific objects, felt that this as quite a difficult game, played other HOG games, came back on a rainy day and then disappeared into it for hours.I've still not finished. No idea what any of this has to do with Jack or any plot of that kind and there's not a lot of logic in how the scenes are progressing, nor it is set in the Jack time period but having visited London some, I'm enjoying recognising the places, plus getting some history nuggets of information, and just dipping in and out of this game. Mad cheap price too.

This was one of the first hidden-object games I've played, but I've played many more since. This one still stands out as one of the best, as whilst there is minimal problem solving other then finding hidden objects, the hidden object scenes are superb. Ok, there is some repetition of locations, but the locations are excellent - some very interesting places around London - my favourite was the bridge of HMS Belfast. The scenes are highly detailed and you can zoom in and out to find all the hidden objects - something I've not seen on many other hidden object games.Whilst this is not the hardest game of all, I found it very entertaining and thoroughly addictive.Liked: the detail of the hidden object scenes, the background music, the pretence of going on the underground between scenes.Disliked: the narration between scenesGreat for hidden object fans.

I am not a seven year old - more like a pensioner - and do not go in for computer games, but wanted a winter-time distraction so I bought this game, and I'm glad I did, it was great fun. I am sure that it would not be challenging enough for hardened game fans, but for novices like me it was just right. Amazons pricing ( I bought it in a three game set) and delivery time was - as always - excellent.

This is the best find the object game I have played. The 360 degree views make it much more interesting and entertaining. I like the idea of finding a number of "types" of objects ie 10 purple things, or 10 birds and animals and finding shapes as well. The mini games are good fun and break the searching sections up really well. I found this game completely absorbing.

I had played this game on line before I purchased it so knew I was going to like it but I hadn't realised that for me it was totally additive and I really spend far more time playing this game than I should. What a bargain price too.

This must be the best ever hidden object game....and there is an excellent storyline to the game as well. I found it extremely addictive and definitely worth a place amongst anyone's PC's games.

Very happy with this product as you can bring it up on computer very easily and play for just one hour as a bit of light relief. Puzzles can be tricky at times but always interesting!
