This is a really good quality educational game. Its so much fun my 5 year old doesn't realise he's learning while playing! Different age groups can all play together but actually he is the best at it!It consists of lots of picture cards which you look at for 10 seconds- egg timer provided for extra suspense- then the card is removed and you answer a question based on the picture. It is a rehash of the old memory cards games but in a really fun format. The pictures on the cards are very varied and cover lots of different elements- eg counting, colours, etcThe cards and the box they are in are very sturdy and good quality so I am hoping they will withstand many hours of play.Highly recommended.

The game consists of memorising the information on a card - pictures (although words are also shown) in a given time. The egg timer used to limit the time creates lots of fun suspense. The player then roles the dice to show the question number he/she has to answer. There are questions such as 'How many...?', 'Which animal is shown...?' 'How many stripes on the umbrella?' etc. The questions are ideal for 5-7 year-olds and makes them really think. It's an incredibly simple, effective game that has been our greatest hit this Christmas. We buy lots of educational games but I only write reviews when the game is exceptionally good. This one gets our full recommendation to others!

Being a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, I bought this game for my young students. They loved it from the very start and are really enjoying it. I find it is an excellent combination of fun and learning at the same time since they have to read and speak in English, and also enhances their memory skills. It retains a quick rhythm throughout and the pictures are interesting and funny so it is easy to keep children's attention and interest. Overall, it is an amazing game, my students are having a whale of a time with it, and I would strongly recommend it to any parent or teacher. I play it, too, I have to say, and it's real fun.

Our 4 year old grandson loves this game and we play it often. Each card in the box shows various things beginning with the same one, two or three letters. On taking out your card you have to study all the things on the front of the card and take note of everything you see. Matthew needs help to see and note all the things on the card, enjoys the shake of the dice and usually comes up with the correct answer. Obviously, at 4 years old, he also needs help reading the questions for other people. The questions are on the back of the cards so it dosn't matter if you help to read out your own question, you still have to remember the front!

My daughter is 2.4 so we are just playing as flash card/pictures cards these cards are good quality. The pictures of the alphabets are good but what I really like about and these will be very useful when she start pre-school and reception year. i.e. Ch - cherries chocolate cheese and chimpanzee, Pl - plaster, plums plate and plugs, Cr- crab, crackers, crayons and crocodile. there are just an example there are gr,sq,dr,br,sw,cl,sm,th,fl,str,sh,fr,gl,sl,st,bl,pr,sk,sc,tw,sn,tr,sp and kn- knee, knickers, knife and knight. I even found it is very good for my son 7 for spellings, the picture for the words are clear.

I work in the Foundation stage in a primary school and we were bored of all our games. Searching the internet I came across this game which I thought looked different and interesting .The children love it , it encourages speaking and listening, it can be adapted through the questions you ask, so can be used with a wide range of children. It doesn't matter if a child leaves the game ( as often happens with our 3 year olds !)as it is not a traditional type board game. A great game which I have reccommended to many people. Other friends have bought other games in this series which are apparently as good.

We love brainbox, it's unusual to find a new game which is educational and interesting enough to convince children that they're not learning, just having fun! We have played this as a family since my son was 3 and it's really helping him with learning the alphabet. It also includes sounds on some cards like 'gr' and 'sh' which is great. We let him read the card for every player which means he has more practice with the sounds than if he just did his own. I'm going to get him a different one for Christmas and I'm sure we'll all enjoy it.

I quite like the Brain Box games and this one is no exception. In a nutshell you have a card to view for 10 seconds and then answer questions about what was on the card:- package includes everything you need - ie the cards and a sand timer- card quality is good and durable- nice illustrations and the questions do make you think about what you saw!Overall I quite like this - note that once you have one Brain Box game you probably won't need another one (there are several different themes in their collection).

I was looking for something to travel with, even though the box is a little bulky (I actually put every thing in a ziplock bag to travel with on the plane). This was brilliant entertainment and could be played on the fold out plan table. My daughter was engrossed and loved the challenge of remembering and was very proud of herself when she did. At first we didn't use the timer but gradually introduced it to the point where she now insists on it. Hightly recommend for entertainment and education.

These BrainBox games are fantastic, and there are many themes to choose from. They are effectively a memory game - you pick a card, look at it for ten seconds, and have to answer questions on what was on the card - get them right and keep the card, and the winner is the one with most cards. The cards are brightly coloured and nicely illustrated, and the nature of the game means any age can play - great for memory boosting and recall, and just great fun to play with all the family.

My 4 year old is enjoying this and has played with 6 and 8 year olds who also enjoy, so think it has wide age appeal. The questions are not obvious, e.g. What is the background colour of the card and how many leaves on the flower, so is more challenging than you would imagine ( a good thing). Even without being able to read it is possible to play. Especially like that it is a short game which is perfect for little ones with short attention spans, a 15 to 19 card game is perfect.

Bright and colorful images/scenes plus made of sturdy cardboard make these a hit in our house! With no words, these 55 cards allow the young child to concentrate on the different items on each card. Most of the cards are themed for e.g Animals on a farm, up in space, a clown juggling etc.In our family we work one on one with the child allowing them time to study the card. When they say they are ready we then proceed on to ask the 6 questions on the back.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We have a number of the Brainbox games and we really enjoy playing them as a family. The box contains a number of cards and a timer. You have a set amount of time to look at the picture on the front before turning the card over and answering questions. As the questions are all based on observation, even young children can play and win. This is s great way to improve observation and memory. This transport edition has really appealed to our son and he’s already beat me twice!

I am extremely pleased with this product. It's a wonderful game to play with my 4 year old son who is in his first year at school. It's helped with his concentration skills and he feels really proud when he get's an answer right. It's pitched perfectly for the 4-6 age range in my view and great for adults too. I'm planning on playing it with my parents on a family holiday as they often worry about their memory skills- this game may or may not put their mind at rest!

My first pictures brainbox is a great fun game to play with children. I have used this game with hearing impaired children not only to help to extend their auditory memory but also their confidence to ask questions about what they see. I am also able to assess childrens ability to understand question forms whilst they are having fun.I am intrigued with the other games in the brainbox series which cover other areas of the curriculum and hope to try them out.
