I bought this motherboard as part of a new build, replacing an old MSI Z97 Gaming 7 motherboard, and can definitely notice a difference or two! I really appreciate the 5 system fan headers (as I've used them all), and the integrated (futureproofed) WiFi 6 for a motherboard at this price point is very attractive. The futureproofing doesn't end there; as being an X570 board there is support for PCI 4.0 across multiple lanes, and Zen 3 CPUs will be supported straight away. I'm definitely pleased with the degree of USB connectivity, with 2 x USB 2.0 headers and 2 x USB 3.0 headers, in addition to 2 x USB C ports (one via header, another in the IO). It was also nice to discover that the IO shield is pre-installed,saving me that little extra bit of hassle when fitting it into my case. The BIOS is reasonably familiar to me, having migrated from an older MSI board, although with some great additions. The board explorer is great for checking everything on initial setup as always, and the hardware monitor was incredibly helpful, enabling me to set up a secondary exhaust fan at the top of my case, plugged into the pump fan header. It was simple to switch this fan to DC mode and enable 'smart fan mode' , setting up a custom curve tied to system temperature. The 'Memory Try It' feature seems quite appealing, offering a way of testing out some preconfigured memory overclocking settings while restoring memory settings back to defaults if the system can't post, without needing to reset the CMOS. I was able to confirm this restore feature worked, although sadly was unable to reach a workable RAM overclock beyond the supported speed with XMP — this would appear to be my memory die rather than anything to do with the motherboard, however. The VRMs really do seem to be as good as reported, and I feel more than happy that I would be able to do some heavy overclocking in the future, without worrying about whether my motherboard will handle the temps. The chipset fan is there as a backup, but the temps have been low enough thus far that it has barely needed to move.A CMOS reset button might have been nice, but at this price point the current feature set is more than enough, and more features would no doubt come at the expense of others. It would be helpful if mystic light control were a standalone application rather than being integrated with MSI Dragon Center, but I did not buy this motherboard for RGB. If anything, I appreciate the generally sleek and industrial black and grey look, which compliments my other (RGB free) components rather nicely.

At the time of writing (Sep 2020), this motherboard is the best bang for the buck you can get for the X570 chipset. YouTube streamers have been gushing about it but let's talk about what I, as a regular user felt about it:Pros:1. M.2 PCI-E 4.0 slots: This comes with heatsinks but me being a newbie, ended up buying an SSD with the preinstalled heatsink. But thankfully this motherboard comes with extra m.2 screws specifically for these instances.2. USB Type-C Front Header. The ASUS TuF gaming rival doesn't have this. So Tomahawk was my clear choice here.3. Good VRM. I can't confirm this but Gamers Nexus says the Voltage Regulator Modules for the CPU is on par with £300 motherboards and blows away all the rival motherboards in this price range.4.USBs: Compared to other MoBo in this range you get a lot of USBs.5. WiFi: This was crucial for me at the time of purchase I don't have an ethernet cable in my room. In my old system I was getting 2 bars of Wifi, but now I get full signalCons:1. 20sec BOOT post lag: It takes 20 seconds from the time you press the power button to hear the post BEEP, let alone get to log in screen. Had to take a star off for that. My OS is installed on a Nvme PCI-E 4.0 SSD and I got 32GB RAM, so this was quite disappointing. I tried disabled boot logo, setting boot to UEFI mode only, and all recommended settings on the internet. But alas the 20 second POST lag is unavoidable so far. I will update if I find a solution.2. No PC Speaker supplied: The motherboard doesn't come with the little PC Speaker that allows you to hear the BEEP when you turn your PC on. This is a minor niggle because you don't need the BEEP for debugging as there are debug lights on the motherboard. For diehard fans, this might be something to consider because if you do transfer a PC speaker from an old machine or buy your own, the resultant beep is MUCH louder than it should be and this volume cannot be adjusted.3. No DisplayPort: If like me, you are going to delay your GPU purchase and perhaps want to use the integrated motherboard temporarily before the new 3080 comes out and your monitor requires a DisplayPort, this Mobo doesn't have one. However, it does have HDMI 2.0 so you might need a DisplayPort to HDMI convertor. This was a minor issue for me. I just stuck my 8 year old gpu on it for now.

*Review Updated*Cannot review the Motherboard as the title says I received a used board. M.2 screws loose in the box, Sata cables removed from the plastic packaging, Motherboard not in an anti-static bag and the chipset fan plastic sticky cover stuck on the front of the box. Did not want to take the chance with it as somebody seems to have returned it. Issue quickly resolved and a replacement is on the way. 3 star for now as I received a used board, will update the review when the new motherboard arrives.Updated 06/02/21Received the replacement motherboard and was a new one! so finally got around to installing it. Motherboard has a good layout,USB 3.2 type C header near the centre of the motherboard righthand side so no issue with the case USB C cable reaching the motherboard header. Board also has 2 USB 3.2 gen 1 headers and 2 USB 2.0 headers. Fan headers all at the bottom of the motherboard so made it easier to route the 4 fan cables so a good layout for cable management. Motherboard chipset fan is set to be off until temperature reaches 59oC out of the box so have not heard the fan as temperature of chipset currently reported around 40oC. Excellent VRM setup on the motherboard so any future upgrade to a higher power drawing more cores CPU catered for.Installed with a Ryzen 7 2700 with an arctic freezer 34 cooler and Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G36C16U4B 3600 MHz 16GB kit running at 3600MHz (set XMP profile in bios). WD Black NVME drive also installed with a couple of sata ssd drives all running no issues. Ran prime 95 for 4-5 hours no issues with memory or system stability. One small incompatibility issue due to using a 7 year old sapphire radeon R9 290x graphics card. On a cold boot the motherboard reports an issue with vga and will not boot up, but found if the power supply is switched off and only switched back on when wanting to use the computer it boots up fine. Not a motherboard issue as I swapped out the graphics card with a HD5850 (even older!) to test and computer boots up okay. Not a major issue as planning to replace the graphics card at some point when availability returns to normal.

After some time spent researching x570/b550 Motherboards, found that the MSI X570 Tomahawk ticked all of the boxes.Pro's:WiFi 6 - Future planning for when this WiFi standard becomes more of the norm.USB BIOS Flashing - Essential now if you're getting a Zen3 CPU and don't have a Zen2 CPU to hand, you can flash the BIOS without having a CPU/Memory/GPU installed.Plenty of PWM Fan Headers - With most cases being able to hold 5+ fans, having plenty of PWM headers is great to have.Upgraded Cooling Solutions - Reading stories about the MSI X570 series having poor VRM cooling, the Tomahawk board has improved on this to what reviewers suggest is almost best in class performance.PCIE Gen 4 x2 - Pairingthis motherboard with a couple of Gen4 NVME drives is ridiculously quick.RGB Through Motherboard - After a couple of days, the RGB in-case lights I have began to grind on me, the MSI Dragon Centre software in windows allowed me to shut them all of with a single click thankfully.USB-C header - Some motherboards still don't have a header for case USB-C connections, this one has a single connection on the back and a connection on the board for front of case USB-C connections. The Cons:Can't think of any to be honest. The board was easy to install, plenty of headers for various connections, documentation for the board was complete and easy to identify.

I have bought The MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk Wi-Fi based on spec and advice I have received from my IT Son and Forums. The choice was not easy because the last 3 MSI Motherboard were not very great (website research: overheating)My choice was between:- No1: Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO and MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI- No2: ASROCK X570 STEEL LEGEND and TUF GAMING X570-Plus and Gigabyte X570 AORUS EliteNevertheless, I have been amazed by the specs and the forum advices for that Tomahawk’s Motherboard. they seem to have resolve the heating issue and the specs are very good. The other Motherboard are very good and very similar, but the low temperature in stress test, the number of Fan connection which are all hybrid and the Bios Qflash have balanced my choice.I have just bought today The PSU (Corsair RM850) because the Fan will turn up only at 40% (340w) The fan seems to be very quiet and the very good Kudo. .and I am also interested by That DRR4 Ram (KLEVV BOLT X 32GB kit (16GB x2) DDR4-3600 MHz). I will invest some money into A Ryzen 5 3600 to complete all my purchasing and I should be able to transfer SSD /HDD /Graphics Card from my old gaming Computer)I will review my comments when the build is completed and fully running, I will let you know what are my comments. In mean time I have taken Some Pictures.

As a casual PC builder, I make lots of mistakes when plugging wires in wrong or pulling them in and out. For example I plugged my case fan in to the radiator pump fan and spent all day wondering why it was running at full blast.Anyways, I gave this board a good test and took it in and out of the case multiple times. I wouldn't have been surprised if it didn't turn on with the amount I battered it.But it's an absolutely beast of a board. I love that it is solid. I use MSI a lot and trust the brand. My current GTX 1080 card is still tearing through games today. The board has everything I want. PCIE-4 was most important to me as I want to invest in an high speed NVME soon.I didn't even need Wifi but now I have the freedom to move my PC around. I will also be connecting my PlayStation controller to the PC to use as a controller. The product is simple to use, the manual is clear and it is idiot proof to some extent. If I had to pick a downside it would be not having another NVME slot but for the price I paid I can't complain.Overall a solid product. Recommended.

Not much I can say really that hasn't been said already. Specs explained etc. And yes I bought this board for the same reasons every other reviewer is raving about. I'll just add my own experience on first boot. This was at Jan 21. Installed cpu/ram & switched on....the mobo debug led for the cpu came on which meant it still didn't have the latest bios to recognise my cpu..which is a 5600x Already prepared for this so connected usb stick with latest bios....all went smoothly & cpu now recognized. Just to note....you can do this without cpu installed but equally as I found out..you can do it WITH cpu installed. Memory...I wanted low profile as I have a huge Noctua air cooler & so I took a gamble on my usual goto memory.(On this case...Corsair CMK32GX4M2D3200C16 Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz C16 XMP 2.0) 32 gig probably overkill but memory works just fine with this mobo. Just need to make sure xmp is enabled in bios settings to get full speed. The programmable flashy led's on this mobo is pretty cool too if you're into that sort of thing!

Good board quality is good in terms of solidity, bought it to replace an ASU’s I bought which had no flashback facility which I feel is essential for any motherboard. As of 15th jan 2021 it still needs a bios update to use the latest gen 5*** ryzen 7 and 9 cpu though, which is no hardship as it has bios flashback, so as long as you are able to download to another device copy to usb and stick insert into top left usb 2 slot in back and push the button to flash the new bios. Has a decent number of usb sockets on the back, including the new red sockets for usb 3.2 and a usb c socket. I like that it has a solid feeling shield for the rear panel built in as I have a case that doesn’t sit well with those push on shields.Well designed voltage regulation means the board runs much cooler than many others out there. Using the kraken 360 water block from my now sold threadripper 3950x temps on the r800x never go above 65 deg cel, case interior is way less hotter overall. Beat budget board I have found.

First off and first thing that surprised me is how weighty this thing is! due to the huge amount of material over the IO, there to help with the cooling of the VRM's. Weight is usually a good thing in PC components so we will see.I bought this as it was the best in terms of features for the £200 price point, I see very little point in spending more than this nower days. As before you know it you are buying a new motherboard again for a new CPU. Having the WIFI built-in was a big bonus for me.On the features, I would have maybe liked to see a third NvME drive (getting greedy I know, but still). The other aspect for me was the understated nature of the designs on the board.I prefer my motherboard to be greys and blacks and just blend in. Alot of boards seem to be trying to be too flashy. Leave that for the RGB ram and the GPU's!Overall I am pleased with the board and hopefully when I get to use it some more it will be a decent overclocker.

This mobo has been a pleasure to set up, bios is so easy to tweak things, and it's generally great in everything so far as I can tell bar two small things:1. WiFi was choked and no amount of refinement in settings bios or drivers would sort it out. Ultimately this was the only reason I chose over an Aorus so MSI can consider themselves lucky that it wasn't returnable by the time I discovered the issue. Putting in Powerline Adapters and hooking to LAN now delivers ultrafast connectivity but frustrating that it's not WiFi.2. The audio jack on the back of the board doesn't seem to work at all. Again, I've tried all sorts but hadn't noticed until well after purchase as I was using my headset off of the case audio jack. This is so irritating as I can't run my speakers from the rear jack. Also: MSI have a crappy splash screen on bootup that looks dire. Not the best for my hugely expensive custom rig, but hardly a deal-breaker.

I was asking a 5800x to this so I had to flash the bios without a chip installed. You download the correct bios file onto a USB memory stick, name it correctly, plug in the power supply into the correct ports to power the USB ports and the motherboard itself, then just press the relevant button. It's scary in that it all flashes for a while and then just stops and you don't know if it's worked out or not until you try to boot your built machine. For me, I found out it didn't work and had to do it again. Eventually got the right bios and away we go.Aside from that, everything was smooth and simple. There's a wealth of ports, the nvme drive was simple to install and the entire thing runs cool and quiet. The onboard wi-fi and Bluetooth made some of my peripherals redundant and are very simple to use.The other high point is a heavily reinforced pcie slot for your graphics card - useful when you have a heavy card!

Great board. Neded a motherboard for a new ryzen 5xxx build so i was looking for something where i can update the bios without another cpu and after seeing multiple people successfully doing it with usb sticks on this board on youtube i pulled the trigger after checking the other features too.Memory compatibility is pretty good, looked up the MSI reddit before i decided on the ballistics RGB 3600MHZ sticks. Also checked out some people reviewing this on youtube, and everybody recommended it. For the price range this board is the go to Ryzen build board for 5xxx series if you want lots of power stages and good termals. The Mystic light rgb is coll as well.

Excellent board for the price point and competes with the more expensive boards in VRM temps. This is the obvious x570 mobo choice unless you have very deep pockets for the Aorus Extreme or Godlike.Features include WiFi & Bluetooth and it was good to see a USB 3.2 Gen C header on the board as I have the the BeQuiet 500DX case which houses a Type C connection at the front. It only has 4 system fan headers though so a splitter may be required for some. I have hardly seen the mobo fan spin as it only comes on during times of very high load.I'd also recommend some cable extensions - Grey/White/Black ones work well with the colour scheme of this board.

This board is working great alongside my 5900x.The build quality is usual MSI, so very good. The BIOS layout hasn't moved on from my last MSI board which has an identical looking layout. No bad thing in a way, but its just not added anything new. If anything some options which existed on the old board are missing now.The software has been simplified, just Dragon centre is needed now. Which is good and bad. Dragon centre is not a brilliant bit of software. IT does the job, but its options are limited the UI isn't brilliant and it seems relatively sluggish.Overall would recommend the board highly. Just the software isnt as good as it could be.

Good MoboNeeded to update the bios for and 5800xDoesn't work with my old m.2 SATA drive which is disappointing.Only has 4 system fan slots which considering this is a gaming mobo isn't enough, I had to get an extension as I have 6 case fans. The extra 4 pin connector for the CPU boost is a waste of time.Overall this is a good Mobo if your looking for something cheap.I can get from pressing power to windows 10 login screen in less then 8 seconds the post is super quick.
