Excellent value for money. The only point to look out for when using on gas hobs is down to the fact that the diameter and height of the base is not all that big, this puts the handles close to any flame should it be turned up really high, this can heat the phenolic handles which causes a smell. The answer is to ensure the steamer is centred and gas is not turned up so much as to cause this problem. Other than that these are just right the right size for me as I usually just cook for myself, but are large enough to cope with those times when there is house full.

I have used this steamer for cooking potatoes, carrots and sprouts (the last two at the same time) and had no issues with it unlike some previous reviewers. Providing the pan is on the correct sized ring, you put in enough water for steaming (about a quarter or third of a pan) the heat is turned down once steaming starts and you don't leave it to boil dry by timing then I don't see what can go wrong. The vegetables were cooked beautifully, there was no funny smell, no burning and no hot handles. The steamer sizes are good and it cleaned easily. Very happy.

Well built, sturdy steamer.Although it says 'induction' it's fine on ordinary electric hob. Good solid base, decent size containers for large amounts of vegetables and/or large size items like half a cauliflower. Handles are quite large which makes for easy handling (you don't need to use over gloves, or anything like that) but requires more space for storage. It takes up quite a bit more room than our previous one whose base got damaged when we let boil dry. As long as we don't do that again no reason why this steamer should not last for years.

So far, I can't find any flaws in these at all.I had some like it already, however they had no plastic on the handles and I was forever scalding my hands when getting the pans off the hobs!!So as much as it pained me to spend on similar plans, I do feel it was worth doing...as I've not once burned myself when using these. The handles do feel warm, but not hot!! Even the knob on the lid has a plasticky bit, so I don't burn myself when picking that up either!!I'd definitely recommend these!

Very pleased with this item which I am using more and more. It needs a little practice to find out what temperature is needed to keep it hot and also how long different foods need at different levels. For example broccoli cooks quicker in the middle pan that the top so I need to swap them around sometimes when cooking the same item in both layers. I am glad that I didn't buy a larger version as there are often only 2 of us and this works really well for 2 or 10.

Just right sized steamers for hob. I use electric and it steams my veggies to perfection. Also gives them that lovely fresh taste. I have been eating more vegetables since receiving this steamer. Have had one before, but th e handles and lid got hot. As these are a type of Bakelite, so they stay cool. You can lift the lid off to stick a knife in to see if veggies arte done. PURRfection

I liked the product very much except for one thing. I have a gas hob and the handles smell when the steamer is being used. Even when the correct flame is used there is still an unpleasant smell of burning. This is diminishing with daily use but is still detectable after several weeks. Otherwise the product meets all the needs it's supposed to.

An excellent product which works well on our ceramic hob. Most important feature is the heat resistant handles which allow the user to handle the unit safely. Some manufacturers fit metal handles to their steamers which necessitate the use of oven gloves/cloths which reduce the level of grip and can introduce the risk of danger from slippage.

We bought this steamer to replace one which served us excellently over many years. Looked at very many models, which really didn't seem to be as good as our old one. But this one has been excellent in the first 3 months of use, and we are so pleased with it. We even wonder if it might be better than our old loved one in the longer term!

Good steamer. Food cooked nicely but handles are low down and heat up fast. Had to put on back of stove as the big gas ring was reaching the handles and almost melting them. Not very sturdy but not very important for a steamer. Cleans well and is easy to use for the most part but make sure gas isn’t reaching handles.

I always associate the name "Morphy Richards" with good quality, and this steamer is no exception. I used it the day I bought it and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. It is easy to clean and looks strong and durable. It was a very reasonable price and so I have no hesitation in recommending it as a very good buy,

When i bought this i was concerned that it might be a bit small, but it cooks enough veg for a family of 5. The stay cool handles make it very safe to use, it comes out of the dishwasher looking shiny and new and the lids fit really well. I have an induction hob and its fine for that.

Good quality and value. Smaller than I expected but i would say perfect for portions for 1 or 2 people. Steams quickly so keep an eye, as I ended up with soggy Leeks on my first attempt. I find the taste of the vegitables much better than boiling and I am positive better for me.

I read all the reviews saying the handles get hot, handles smelling, and I must have been sent a faulty set of pans.NO smell, perfect results with broccoli and asparagus.Just lower the temperature after the water has started boiling and steam away.Easy, right ?

I like the stay cool handles, they were the main selling point for me. I find it impossible to use the holes in the lid to strain the water from the base pan. I have to use a colander and add to the washing up. A small niggle, otherwise it does the job well.
