I'm not sure what is going on with the rest of the reviews on this page, but be assured this review is for the Mooer Noise Killer pedal. All in all, this is pedal is great and does exactly what it should do. It should be placed before your noisy pedals, such as Overdrive and Distortion pedals. This pedal can be left on alongside your noisy pedals and it will stop any of the normal hum you hear when they are on. Then, when the pedal detects a signal (in other words you strumming the guitar) it will open up and allow the signal through, and then engage when the signal is gone and prevent any hum. This works great if you commonly use lots of gain but you also want a tight crisp sound. However, note that if you place this pedal after time based effect pedals (delays, reverb etc.) then it would shut off the trails those pedals give you abruptly. This could be something you want, but if not place the pedal before any time based effect pedals. The pedal has a knob labelled 'threshold' that controls how much signal the pedal allows through. This will differ for everyone and therefore you need to get the level right yourself. In order to do this, all you need to do is start the knob at the -70 mark and then increase it until you hear your guitar as loudly as you would if the pedal was not engaged. Then the pedal will stop the hum but not decrease your volume, unless you want it to. This pedal in theory could be used as a kill switch, which would shut off your signal altogether when engaged. The pedal also has a switch with labels 'hard' and 'soft'. This relates to how much the pedal decays your signal and how quickly the pedal acts on your signal. The 'hard' setting will shut off your signal almost immediately; the 'soft' setting will wait around 2 seconds and then shut off your signal. In terms of size, the pedal is very small. This means it will easily fit onto almost any pedal board and not take up much needed space. It has a metal casing which is very robust and could definitely endure some drops and stamps. In terms of looks, I guess it looks pretty nice. It has a shiny grey metallic finish that you could say looks quite smart.Lastly, I would encourage those of you who are looking to purchase this pedal to have a think about what you want from it. The pedal cuts off unwanted noise but also will decrease the sustain of your sound, so if you rely on long strung out notes or other long sounds then this pedal could be detrimental. Many people say that this pedal will suck a lot of tone, but I haven't heard a great deal.So the pedal has it's good and bad points, but if used properly it will give you exactly what you want: no noise!

This review is for the Mooer TrelicopterI have just downsized and upgraded my pedal set up, I thought I could do without a tremolo and then changed my mind so was inclined towards one of the various mini pedals now on offer - this one and two more expensive USA made ones.I opted for this one based upon features, reviews and yes, price. I am very pleased with it, I like it more than the Boss TR-2 that I had previously, it has a more natural sound and I think it is significantly quieter (in terms of hiss and so on). There is no loss of volume when it is switched on, if anything there is a very slight boost which you can hear if you turn on the pedal with the tremolo depth at zero but when you set the depth for the effect the boost is not noticeable.Exact unity volume for the ears seems to be a tricky thing for tremolo pedals but Mooer seem to have got it right.I haven't owned an optical tremolo before but this seems very natural and amp like, perfect for rootsy music which is what I tend to play although it will also do the thing for that Smiths song if you want it. The bias control seems to take the effect from sine wave to something a bit more choppy, I like it at about 30%. I guess some people won't like those two tiny dials for depth and bias but I am pretty much going to set and forget those so they are fine with me, the compromise of something that takes up so little pedal board space. It seems very well built and solid, very well thought out, even the packaging. Excellent value for money, I wouldn't have been surprised if I tried it in a shop and it was twice the price.

This review is for the mod factory pedal. It arrived promptly In good condition. It is tiny, less than half the size of a normal boss pedal. I would recommend sticking it down with velcro as it is easy to kick one of these things over. It dose not take a battery, so you need an external power supply. It has 4 dials, one 11 way big nob for the effect used, one for depth, one for rate/level and one for depth/ sensitivity. The switch is very well built, you can really stomp on this thing. All the effects were usable and VERY tweak-able, from subtle, thickening chorus to whacked out ring modulation. One minor complaint is that when turning the large dial it dose not always register the change so you can end up with funky wah when you want atmospheric chorus. Also if you are gigging the small nobs are occasionally hard to see.Overall this is a great pedal and any one of these effects alone would be well worth the money. Takes up no space on your pedal board an costs very little. Buy it!!

A great pedal. I had been considering either this or an MXR Phase 90 for some time. While the MXR is "The original" it has a much larger footprint and IIRC only the expensive ones had a power jack, or the power jack was in the wrong place to conveniently accommodate it on my board, so the Mooer won. From a sound point of view I have tried this along side a friends Phase 90 and, to my ears, there was no difference. The Mooer also has the advantage of the Classic/Modern switch which provides some reduction in impact over the MXR if required. A feature I like a lot.All or the features I have come to expect of Mooer (this is my 3rd Mooer pedal); tiny footprint and rugged casing for relatively small money.A Phaser isn't something I use a great deal, and I have deliberately elected for a compact pedal board, so it uses an appropriate proportion of the available space for the amount I use it.Compared to the MXR I am very happy with my choice.

Love it!Been striving for the Andy Summers Flange/Chorus sound with my Boss Flanger but never quite getting there. Read quite a few reviews, and watched demo's of this and the real Electronic Mistress. Was tempted to the real thing but it runs at a different voltage, no true bypass, and volume drop swayed me to take a punt on the Mooer.Very happy with the sound options, build quality, although the size is shocking (In a good way as it takes hardly any space on a pedalboard.)It as near to the Electro Harmonix as i need and i have read reviews saying that the original builder of the Mistress helped in the recreation with this pedal. It may not be true, but the sound is lovely warm and sounds analogue.True bypass, no volume drop that i can hear and lush Flanging and Chorus. Plus the filter switch to manually set the Flange. Also half the price of the Electro Harmonix. What is not to like?

OK, now this is more like it! A simple-to-use pedal to get those lovely old echo sounds.I used the Mooer Ana Echo for a few gigs and was highly impressed and then tried the MDD1. I bought the MDD1 because it has the old tape echo sound, which is very good indeed and which I need for the music I play, mostly 50's and 60's.Trying to get an old Copicat or Binson is nearly impossible now, this pedal comes very close indeed, and is very compact. Also, being solid state, has none of the vices of the old mechanical units. There are three modes on this pedal, Analogue, Real and Tape Echo. The Anologue echo is similar to the Mooer Ana Echo; the Real echo has an interesting "spacey" sound. For me the Tape Echo is what I was seeking, it has the mild sonic imperfections of an old mechanical unit, without the hassles.A winner.

I am using this into the front end of overdriven Marshall 1W 50th anniversary amps (JMP-1 and JCM-1) to provide a bit of ambience for solos (Gordon Smith --> Delay --> AB box --> Amps). Neither amp has an effect loop so it has been quite a challenge to find a delay that doesn't sound rubbish in this set up (both my Wampler Faux Analog and Boss DD3 failed). This actually sounds really natural and organic in my set up, with a nice natural tail off for repeats, perfect for 70's rock. Whilst the sound is 'warm' like analog delays it is actually much clearer, particularly past 300ms where BBD chips struggle (MXR Carbon Copy owners will probably recognise this). All in all, good value at less than £60,and hardly takes up any space.

I bought this for it's size, price and price having read some pretty favourable reviews generally of Mooer pedals.I already have an Electro-Harmonix Double Muff Nano on my board, which is great for grungy Black Keys type fuzz/distortion, however the Mooer promised a smoother, 'Tone Bender' (which I used to have) type tone.It works well, seems well built and my only complaint is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of volume on tap. I guess a smooth sounding fuzz is always in danger of getting lost in the mix when playing live, unlike my Double Muff which always cuts through.I'll keep it though, as I'm sure there will be some situations that demand that sound!

I have just received the Eleclady Guitar pedal, which I am using with my Bass guitar. The pedal is an "Analog Flanger", which means that it oscillates your sound with a strange electric sound, which is exactly what I wanted.I would highly recommend the product to both Bassists and GUitarists if this is the sound you are after. Only down side is that the pedal is to small to have space for a battery, so you have to get a 9v power adapter.I knew this before purchase and so it was not a problem to me, just something to be aware of.Overall a great sound and a great price.

I plugged this in using a daisy chain of Mooer pedals. I have the "Wahter" ,the green mile , Hustle Drive. Adding this to the daisy chain and it sounded like a "squadron of Biggles" was flying overhead. I connected it to a spare 9v output of my T Rex Fuel and the noise completely disappeared. This pedal don't like to share its power supply with the others. I actually have 10 Mooer pedals and I can power 9 of them using 2 isolated power outlets from the T Rex and a 3rd for the funky monkey.

Having owned the MXR 1974 CSP026 phaser I can honestly say this one is every bit as good and the fact it has true bypass and LED make it a Steal for the money buy with confidence you won't be disappointed!

This pedal gets me that mistress sound without the size and noise of the original. To my ears it sounds closer to my 79 deluxe electric mistress that i used right up till the 90's.

31.12.2016

Lovely sound, but not ideal for bass except solos: the lack of a depth control, and the fact that the depth is set at a tasteful level :) means it gets a bit lost in the mix.

Check out the various youtube vids for this pedal - if you like the sound, get one. well built and sounds great with strats or humbucking guitars. Shame no power supply...

23.5.2019

Good sounds and great value. Only negative (but can overlook this given the price) is a noticeable volume boost when the effect is turned on - hence 4 stars not 5.
