I ordered this pen on line from Amazon based on reviews only. I had never actually seen one in person because it is so very difficult to find local Mont Blanc retailers in my area. I'll admit I was a little nervous about making such a grand purchase "sight unseen".Holding this pen in your hand proves that it is well worth the investment. Mont Blanc pens make a bold statement about the owner and has major "snob appeal" for those that are in the know about the price tag usually associated with Mont Blanc. My husband has three Mont Blanc pens and will not write with any other pen. He always has his at the ready. I have always liked his pens,but I'd never seen one that caught my eye enough to make me want to pay the higher price for the Mont Blanc line. That is, until I saw the Starwalker pen on line.... I then started to try and locate one in my area before making this level of commitment to a pen. I pondered the decision for a few weeks before I bit the bullet and made the purchase via Amazon. It's a trusted retailer, so I gave in and went for it.The color selection on the pen is stunning and it feels perfectly balanced in your hand. It has just the right amount of heft without being too heavy and is incredibly comfortable to write with. This is not a light weight pen. It has a substantual feel to it and it is larger than some of their other lines. The Starwalker is in a class well beyond anything available from Cross or other high end pen makers. Of course, it writes wonderfully---just as all Mont Blanc pens are designed to do. The black and gunmetal finsh are stylish and understated. This pen is classy and elegant and seems designed for the person who wants to be subtle with their "excess". It doesn't scream "Mont Blanc". This pen is one that you have to really look at to notice the elegant Mont Blanc touches. I can honestly say that I have ZERO regrets on this purchase and truly enjoy it for my everyday use. With the built out grip, I have greatly reduced the tired feeling in my hand at the end of the day. This pen is perfect in every way.If you are on the fence, go ahead and make the purchase. When you hold it, you will understand... :)

I chose this line due to its reputation. I had bought a Waterman last time.My husband was very impressed when he opened this gift. He finds the weight of the pen, as he writes and holds it, very importantThe weight is just right, it feels substantial but comfortable. The shape keeps his fingers in place just above the bullet-shaped end.My husband remarked to me, a few days after using the pen, that the ink was fluid and dispels with no effort whatsoever.He finds this pen to be the best he has ever had, Better than the Waterman. He has always pressed hard when using a pen to make his writing ( he usually prints) legible and to compensate for his slight tremor.This is not necessary with this pen.The grip is secure and writes everytime, with notable ease.I must tell you that I am so pleased that I chose your company, to insure quality and function. My husband uses this pen for hours on a daily basis. I see him admiring this pen frequently.Thank you again for making this gift to my husband a treasure.Pamela [email protected]

Fantastic pen! Montblanc never disappoints. Yes, they are pricey but the quality of the pen and collectability makes them sought after pieces to add to anyone's box of treasures. This one is simply brilliant, I love the gun metal look. I know some say it makes the pen look less noticeable but I disagree. The gun metal gives it a distinction that contrasts with typical "fancy pens", some of which are just cheap throw aways. I plan on collecting the complete line of this style.One other thing, anytime you buy a Montblanc product, always check to make sure it's original. I know, duh, but if it's your first one you may not notice and there are more fakes in circulation than real.Check the "snow flake" at the top by looking at it's edges, they should be perfectly smooth (not rough or jagged) and it should be perfectly centered in the acrylic dome. Look at the small details, if you notice any pigment or other imperfections, it's probably fake. You can also find examples online that are very helpful.

This Mont Blanc is not the typical showy and stodgy fancy pen. It has a contemporary linear design made of easy to grip special resin, their proprietary plastic that has a warm, soft feel but retains its hard and shiny finish. No other pen company matches this material. What really makes this pen special is the treatment of the metal trim, namely the clip, rings and ferule where the point comes out. These are not coated in shiny gold or platinum like other Mont Blanc pens. They are instead plated with Ruthenium. This renders the metal trim shiny but dark, somewhat difficult to describe but incredible in appearance. Personally, I don't like fancy pens that really look fancy and pricy.When the pen is in your pocket it does not stand out as a silver or gold shiny object, rather it is understated in your pocket and really, really eye catching when out in your hand or on the table. Low key but still a stand out, what a combination.

Amazing pen! the weight is balanced and perfect for writing for long periods and the colors in my opinion are much more modern and stylized than the older plain black model.It comes with a black ink cartridge while I would have preferred blue so I had to go to a showroom to change the cartridge.The only issue I had is that the warranty came not stamped, but I don't think this is related to reviewing the pen itself and that's why I didn't take away a star due to that.

My middle son wanted a Montblanc pen for Christmas from the age of 10. This from a kid who wanted a 3-piece suit with dress shirt and tie, a hat, and a trench coat for his third Christmas. But I couldn’t bring myself to get it for him. Until he was 25. The joy, shock, surprise, and gratitude overwhelmed everyone in the room. So if you know someone who wants a gorgeous writing tool that screams “CLASSY!”, this is THE ONE. They will love you for it.

I've been writing with an older model Mont Blanc for about 10 years and always liked its feel and quality. I've been looking at newer models for some time and cane across the star writer and read the reviews. I received the pen today and think it's very elegant. It writes beautifully and feels very balanced in my hand. I would recommend this pen and the merchant.

I ordered the fineliner, and it just wasn't right for me. I don't use markers, so for me it felt uncomfortable. I have a heavier hand more suited to ballpoint. Also, the fineliner bled into the page, and I could see the markings on the reverse of my Moleskine pages... I returned the fineliner, and got this really nice ballpoint pen. Very happy!

This is my 3rd Mont Blanc Pen.Other I have are StarWalker Highliner and Maisetrsruck. This one is very easy to use. Other I have to remove and screw the caps. This one is just rotate.I am trying to get use to the bulky grip vs the other ones. Had to change the ink to Blue. I hate black I think it is a bad luck!

Very pleased with this pen. Nice weight, writes really well and looks great.Had seen an earlier review reporting the purchase of a fake but having checked the pen thoroughly I can confirm that it is genuine. Maybe this is because it came direct from Amazon and not from a third party seller.

Absolute perfection! The minute I opened the package I knew that this was going to be a real treat. The pens arrived in the cases with their service guides. The look was absolutely pristine as though I was the only one to handle them after the were manufactured. Couldn't be more delighted!

I love this Montblanc StarWalker Ballpoint Pen!! It is fluid, and clear. I highly recommend this pen if you want perfection in a writing instrument. I have 2 other Montblanc pens and this is as good as they are. If you want quality and supreme writing experience this is the pen for you.

Love this pen. Very smooth when writing. It just glides effortlessly across the paper. lol It came in a nice looking box also (can double as a gift box). All in all, I was very happy with this purchase. I own a few Montblanc before (forgot the models) but this is the best one yet!

Awesome pen!!!!!...looks better than the picture....you can get (transfor) the ballpoint into roller ball if you want with a Monteverde Refill and works great.the issue with Montblanc is that you must buy two pens if you want to have a roller ball and a ballpoint.

I was told that the pen would have paperwork and a serial number. Mine had none of that. The pen its self is great and my husband loves it. Shipping was a breeze and all went as it should, just missing the paperwork and for that I can not give it a 5 star
