I thought this fragrance was going to be somewhat 'old fashioned', something one of my old aunts would wear - but no, this is a very modern take on the smell of roses. The Eau de Perfum comes in a pleasingly simple, classic bottle, with a good spray function that arrives in a nice, plain presentation box.The fragrance itself was a lot 'deeper' than I expected. Certainly roses are the 'top note' but there is something more substantial that makes for a very pleasing experience. A spray on each wrist, but the perfume did not last quite as long as I expected, so applied again half way through the evening, as I do with my usual (and more expensive) choice. It is quite difficult to review a perfume, however I loved this fragrance and would find it suitable to wear for most occasions - including the more 'sophisticated' outings (supper parties, drinks parties, theatre etc). This would also make a terrific gift.

This eau de parfum from Miller Harris is like a rose garden in a bottle! None of that old ladies' toiletries smell, this is really reminiscent of the smell you get when, on a warm summer's day, you inhale the scent from a fragrant rose in the garden and it fills your nose. It's such a multi-layered smell, that makes me keep wanted to smell my wrists and imagine myself in my mother's garden in the sunshine. The bottle is simple, but lovely - a simple square-shaped bottle, but with a black floral (not rose though) pattern on the back, so that when sat against a plain surface, like a plainly painted wall, you can see the picture perfectly. The lid has a weighty feel and the box is understated, but lovely, with a little saying on the back: Rose Silence For the intimist. A personal, reflective Sunday morning moment.

Whilst I always loved the smell of roses I had always been rather anti rose perfumes as they seemed rather flat, sort of papery, old fashioned and mono dimensional. Then along came Jo Malone with her Red Roses and a whole generation of perfumiers were inspired to create new and exciting based rose fragrances that are surprisingly different. This is an excellent example, lots of lovely rose smell but a whole lot more not too obvious oomph. Slightly spicy/peppery top notes that give it a bit of sparkle plus a warmth to the rose that deepens it and makes it richer, I think that is the sandalwood. It's feminine without being old fashioned and lasts well. If you are a rose aficionado definitely worth a go.If you are looking for a present that will surprise and delight someone go for it.

This is a seriously sensual scent. The first hits of this is a gorgeous summary Rose fragrance. Not deploying sickly sweet smell that you sometimes get in fragrances but a soft fresh powdery sexy scent. At first this is all I could smell then after an hour is when this perfume really comes into its own. The Rose fades and the softer notes come in bringing with it offence of a rose garden in the rain, wet earth and leaves. This fragrance immediately transported me back to the souks in Marrakech, where the perfume shops smell of Rose Oud, sandalwood and moss. It's a very complex sophisticated s ent and it's so hard to put your finger on all the different components that make up this fragrance. This is definitely a feminine scent for those who like florals.A very sensual scent

Subtle feminine fragrant. Possibly the best affordable rose perfume I've ever sampled. Most rose perfumes are either air freshener or very expensive French perfumes which don't smell particularly nice but are recognisably expensive. They're like signature smells that announce that the person entering the room spends money for the sake of spending money and has lots of it. This scent occupies the middle ground between air freshener and arrogance. Surprisingly more of a day smell than I would have assumed. Mature but not matronly. This a is a grown up rather than girly. Tried on the same day with Vetiver Insolent and it's a lot more wearable and subtle. Neither weak nor overpowering.Basically bordering on perfection.

This is, unquestionably, one of the finest 'Rose' fragrances I have ever had the pleasure of wearing.Quite simply, it is elegant, evocative and pure class. The rose scent is fresh and clear, with a soft sweetness - no chemical harshness. It is uplifting and lasts a good 6-8 hours, mellowing out nicely as the day or evening wears on.It's suitable for day and night, and it's an absolute winner. Subtle, yet lasting. Cannot recommend more highly.P.S if you're a fan of Rose (as I am) then look out for THE 7 VIRTUES Noble Rose of Afghanistan Eau de Parfum as it is another pure fragrance but without the lasting wear of this one.

As soneone who usually dislikes floral scents but who loves the smell of roses I was intrigued to try this.It comes in fairly simple Packaging no fancy red about it but more understated and elegant which is how I would describe the scent. You can definitely make out the rose aroma but importantly it is well balanced with wood and fruit scents. The smell lasts well and thankfully isn't overbearing. I was pleasantly surprised having never used this brand of perfumes before and am intrigued by the tag line on their site which advises its part of a range of scents that you can mix.perhaps time to buy another one to try

My fiancee has never used Eau De Parfum and has always stuck to Eau De Toilette as it is much cheaper but maybe that has been a bad decision, this gorgeous smelling Miller Harris fragrance is something very special, it requires about 2 sprays to last the day as it is so strong compared to a watered down EDT. Don't be put off by the Rose flavouring thinking this is old fashioned and something your granny should wear as it is really isn't and although very floral is very modern floral with it. She loves it and have just bought another Miller Harris product because we were so impressed with this. Excellent.

Well, this is just lovely. A fresh, modern daytime fragrance, with a subtle rose top note - more like a rose actually smells, rather than a 'rose perfume' if you see what I mean, with latent tones of sandalwood, though I couldn't detect the earthier patchouli notes. Like being in the garden first thing on a dewy morning, if I was being poetic.Damned classy packaging as well, with a very understated monotone box and a clear glass bottle embossed with a simple flower drawing which shows up beautifully against the virtually colourless liquid.A sophisticated, contemporary fragrance.

This is an eau de parfum, so is more concentrated than an eau de toilette. The 50ml will go a long way.The fragrances was pleasantly surprising, I thought that the rose scent night be a bit overwhelming but it was nice and light. It lasts all day on the skin too.Although it is a bit pricey, it is concentrated and will last you a long time. Looking at that the value is quite reasonable. The box and packaging is lovely too. Plus my other half likes it.As a comparison I have a few other items by Chloe and Marc Jacobs, I like a floral scent, which this supplies.

This is a fabulous perfume, my new favourite. I forgot to take perfume with me on a recent trip abroad so decided to buy some. The salesman in duty free was excellent, and this was his suggestion. There was a great deal on and, although it was much more than I intended to spend, one smell and I was sold. It's a delicate but quite strong fragrance, smelling of the true scent of roses. It lasts all day and definitely lingers. It will be on my Christmas list , as I rather expect I will have run out by then.

This perfume really does live up to its description. It is light and airy and after you have had it on for a while the perfume releases its deeper notes of sandalwood - one of my favourite scents and a very light musk. I am not keen on musk in general but it is very light in this perfume and not overwhelming as it is sometimes.I can see that this perfume is going to become a favourite of mine and it is likely to appeal to anyone who likes flowery scents of any kind.

Once again, I passed this to Mrs Scoop for evaluation. Her verdict was that is was a very good, fresh 'everyday' fragrance but on that basis, a little expensive. From my point of view, it was a little bit to flowery but perfectly pleasant. I would have to say that I agree about the price. Just too high for this type of perfume. Interestingly it does mention that it is for Women AND men. Hmmm, way too 'in your face' for me. So anyway, nice but too pricey.

I got this for my sister-in-law who usually wears Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb - probably one of my favorite smelling female fragrances. The initial scent of this Miller Harris Rose Silence appears to be quite strong, but it settles after a couple of minutes to present an airy and subtle smelling sweet floral rose fragrance which is quite nice. We both agreed that it's not quite as nice as Flowerbomb, but it's still a good choice for the modern woman.

This arrived in a simple box with an attractive square bottle. It has an atomiser on top and looks clean and attractive without really standing out. The scent is fresh and clear, with a definite hint of rose but without smelling too sweet and avoiding the "old lady" rosewater smell. It lasts all day and my wife was very pleased with it although did question whether it was a bit expensive.
