I bought these chains ahead of a car trip to Alsace in Feb 2012 as the quick fit appealed. However, not only were they really difficult to fit (took c. 30-45 min and was very hard work) they did not stay on(!) despite taking care to order the right size for our car (VW Passat). When driving through heavy snow fall in Alsace we were pleased to have brought snow chains on our trip. However, they proved to provide only a false sense of security as we had to stop and re-fit them every 200 meters and eventually one of them fell off completely and we got stuck in the snow. Having been stuck in the blizzard for over one hour - saved by locals - we drove off in shock without the snow chains struggling to stay on the road and praying we would make it back to the base.
