A friend helped us review these as they were unfortunately too short for me.We both like the jeans a lot and here are some of the things we like:Fabric:97% cotton/3 % elastane, so not quite as dense and isolating as denim, but on the other hand cotton makes it lighter and easier to wash. And with the mix with elastane, the jeans should not expand as much as if it had been 100% denim or 100% cotton (Cotton threads expand, but do not retract, so jeans with an elastane mix will expand less and retract better). This is a good mix and the materials feel strong and comfortable and we expect them to wear well. They can be machine washed.Tapered fit:These have a quite loose tapered (wider at top and more drawn in at bottom)fit which fits our friend who is slim, but has quite muscular thighs.Stitching and finishing:The stitching (yellow front and back and white inner and outer legs) looks good and strong. Especially the yellow stitching around the pockets/zipper/belt hooks provides a nice and authentic design. We are not quite as crazy about the white outer leg side stitching, but we’ll take it. The finishing is good with no loose threads and the stitching is tight. The Lee brand is sewn in a couple of places on the back (small black label on right hand side back pocket and leather label at the top in the belt line) and shown on the button as well. All look good and very much like we know the brand.Sizing:They fit to size in the waist. Length-wise they seemed just a little bit short (32 length seemed to be regular-to-short rather than regular-to-long), but they fit our friend (who is 177 cm/5’8 tall) perfectly. As a general rule, he goes for jeans where he can fit in two fingers between the waistline and stomach and still be comfortable. Sizing that way will allow them to look good and fitted even if they expand a bit as expected. As mentioned above, these are mixed with elastane, so these will not expand too much, so don’t go too small on these.Overall we are very happy with the jeans. They are good quality, feel comfortable, look nice and will wear well. They are a bit on the short side for my taste, but otherwise I think they are great.I do think that the current price of £60 is maybe a bit high.4.5 stars

The Amazon listing says these Lee Extreme Motion straight jeans contain 3% elastane and 97% cotton but the label inside them says 2% and 98%.When you look inside the waist band it's a stretchy piece of fabric sewn into them which makes them very forgiving of a variety of waist sizes, and tolerant of moving around in a way that a more rigid waist might restrict. I suspect that the waist band isn't the only place where elastane appears in these jeans though, I think it's woven into the cotton mix of the fabric and this presents recyclers with a problem a number of years in the future when these jeans reach end of life - it's really easy to recycle cotton, it's biodegradeable, and the stretchy waist band can be removed and dealt with in some way, but if there is elastane mixed in with the cotton then it will just sit in the earth and remain.Design-wise these jeans are fairly anonymous, the blue hasn't faded much but looks a little bit lived in, and as I say they fit a wide range of sizes because of the stretchiness but this leads to a slight lack of character in appearance that a more structured and firm garment might provide. They are well made though, and should last many years.

Lee is a classic name in jeans but one that has in recent years been more associated with clothes for older than for younger people. If you want more of a classic look however they are usually a solid option - I gave these a wear to find out if that was still true. When it comes to design, these are very straight legs and pretty baggy, both around the legs and at the top which means they lack shape. The material is also a semi stretchy material, which is thinner and not quite like a classic jean, paired with an elasticated waistband which means given the fit they are definitely more suitable for the larger man. Pockets are nice and deep, fastenings seem solid and the colour is a good mid shade while the stitching contrasts without being too bright. So have they shaken off the older person look and feel? The answer for Lee is a no in this case but that probably shouldn't stop you considering these if you want this kind of look, even more so if you're a little larger.

Although I didn't consider myself old enough for the elasticated waistband just yet, I'm embracing it with these jeans! OK, well they're not *quite* in the same league as that famously geriatric style, but the stretch material makes them so incredibly comfortable that they almost feel a bit like wearing a pair of jogging bottoms. They're roomy, with a fair bit of give, but still look quite fitted (I do have chunky legs, though - on skinnier legs they could look baggy). They might not be the trendiest style (I'm still *just* around the right age to still get away with a slim fit), but they look 'jeans smart' and casual. Less going out on the town, more knocking about at the weekend. They wash well (no shrinkage or colour loss on a cool cycle)and are a nice shade of stonewashed jeans blue. A great everyday casual pair for when you just want to relax in your clothes (rather than squeeze into them).

I don't really consider myself a jeans person - my larger thighs and bum haven't made me particularly comfortable in the skinny jeans preferred in recent years. But the lycra content of these excellent jeans from Lee have made me reconsider. I usually have to go up at least one inch in the waist to fit most brands of trousers to accommodate my shape but these do fit me well in waist while being not too snug in the thighs. (I've also tried the same cut in the next size up and there's not a huge difference due to the stretchiness). The denim is soft and comfortable and tidily stitched. I'm also pleased that these aren't declaring my waist and leg sizes for the world to see!The Maddox blue is more casual and probably better suited to a younger man than I (the other pair is in the Trip blue) but I'm very pleased with both as they will put jeans back in my wardrobe.

These jeans are a good, comfy fit for my Dad. The fabric is a dark indigo (worth washing before wearing, to try and avoid dye transfer), and has quite a high degree of multi-directional stretch, as well as an elasticated waistband. The degree of movement to the fabric means these are perfect for when he's working out in the garden, as does the fact that this is a softer jeans fabric, not really needing to be broken in.These are a classic design jean, with five pockets, a single button at the waistband and a zip fly. Well sewn, with less contrast between the stitching (a light brown) and the dark blue of the jeans than is often the case. For some reason a bright orange thread has been used for the bottom stitching on the hems, and this shows through slightly on the seams - but you have to be really looking closely to notice this.

Lee jeans for me have never really had that cool factor that say Levis or Wrangler and many other have, not sure why. These are made well enough consisting of 97% Cotton, 3% Elastane so a slightly stretchy fit to them compared to 100% cotton denims. The fasteners are the one main button at the belly button and a zip fly. Reinforcement around the areas of stress such as pockets are as with many other denims. The regular fit is generally good not too slim and not too baggy or loose looking, however the elasticated waist for me is not something I am particularly fond of. Denims are machine wash at low temperature for easy maintenance. Overall well made denims which don't seem to have the cool hip feel of other denims, but then again I never was or am going to be a hipster.

This is a review of Lee Men's Extreme Motion Straight Jeans W36 / L32I gave this to a friend so this is his review."I was perturbed when first putting these on as the material seemed a bit stretchy and its feel bore a remarkable resemblance to my wife’s ‘jeggings’; not a look I wish to emulate as I approach early middle age. However, my initial misgivings were completely unfounded - these jeans are cut normally, not tight and clingy at all (phew) and felt comfortable straight away.I was all set to mow the lawn wearing them when my wife said to me, “Those jeans look very smart, you’re not going to cut the grass in them are you?”So I reluctantly took them off. They’re now hanging up in the wardrobe awaiting a suitable ‘smart jeans’ occasion, hmm."

These are very comfortable as they are a cotton/polyester/elastene blend which results in a nicely springy, stretchy fabric. They are rather a conventional, straight leg cut, which will be a matter of taste but personally I think cuts a nice balance between modern and not too skinny. The waist and leg measurements are spot on and as I would expect, and comparable with other types of jeans I own e.g. Gap.The image on the product page is misleading and suggests a skinnier cut than the actual jeans you get, which are straight leg with a very slight taper. This is my first pair of Lee jeans but given the quality and price, they are a good investment. I would recommend them for a nice mix of style and comfort.Made in Bangladesh.

Loving these premium quality jeans by Lee,they are a nice fit and are made of strong material. Good for wear and tear.I like the colour blue ( Maddox pu ) although there is four other colour choices, so probably going to purchase another pair..I love the feel of them against my skin and the very comfortable waistband, also I get lots of comfort and movement from them. They are modern and fashionable with plenty of pockets , button and zip fastening and tapered.Cold wash 30% is recommended and I won't tumble dry.Absolutely love them and will be buying another pair probably in black but these are a very dark blue.I'm definitely highly recommending, fabulous jeans by Lee.

Overall, I am very impressed with these jeans; in-fact, out of all the pairs I have, these are my favourite so far.The colour is a nice deep tone of blue and the fitting makes it very smart looking; these for an evening out will very much compliment a smart-casual look. The size I received fits me well and I really liked the feel of the fit; they also have a subtle stretch to them for extra comfort. The pocket seem to be of a decent size, but most importantly for me, they have a Zip rather than a set of buttons which most jeans seem to come with these days...All in all, very pleased with these and may have to consider getting more in the future.

I have been buying cheap brands of Jeans until recently but on balance I think it's definitely worth shelling out for a branded pair like these. They cost a bit more but just look and feel that little bit better and seem to have a slightly better fit and just feel more comfortable. There's quite a lot of give in these jeans so they do accommodate so expansion or shrinkage of the waistline if you are the sort of person whose weight varies a bit during the course of the year. They are really soft and stretchy and they just seem to give me an extra spring in my step. Considering how many times you can wear a pair of jeans, the extra cost is minuscule.

11.4.2019

On the plus side, these jeans are hugely comfortable and the lighter fabric makes them quicker to dry and easier to fold & pack. Perhaps erring too much on the side of comfort, they have essentially an elastic waist - it doesn't look as bad as you expected, and under a belt it's not noticeable, but given they are a quite a generous fit anyway, I'm not sure this was necessary. The denim is a pretty standard colour, and the shape is also "vanilla", meaning overall, the jeans look a little bit bland. Nothing major to dislike, but if I was only to pick one pair of "comfort jeans" I'd go with Rohan as they look smarter and the fabric is higher quality.

10.4.2019

These jeans are very nice quality. There is elastane in the actual denim plus some discreet elastic on the inside of the waistband. They do not look like they are elasticated on the outside. They fit slightly below the waist to help prevent "builder's bum" and to say they are a 33 waist, they only fit because of that elastic. My waist is a 30/31 and they just fit. They are comfy though because the elastic waistband moves with me.Sadly like many jeans today they are very baggy from the bottom of the buttock to the knee so I had to take them in on the thigh to fit properly. But they were oh so nearly a good fit!

11.4.2019

I wouldn’t call these jeans particularly stylish but I would call them particularly comfortable. The 3% of the dreaded elastane make a lot of difference to the wearability of this garment particularly when sitting down and driving. The straight fit is about right for somebody like me in their sixth decade (54 before you ask) but who doesn’t want to go down the Blue Harbour route and although my “motions” haven’t been “extreme” for a while when I do move in these it is quite a pleasurable experience. Note the pair I have in the Trip blue are a bit darker than pictured also, they look more like the Maddox.
