I only use Nikon lenses to guarantee 100% compatibility. My camera is a Nikon D5500 DX (cropped sensor). Nikon do not make a compatible 2X teleconverter for DX lenses, which meant I had to apprehensively buy a 3rd party teleconverter. I chose the Kenko and I’m very pleased I did. It works perfectly with my AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f1:4.5-5.6 zoom and my AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f1:5.6 zoom. Both camera and lenses fit snuggly without any binding or looseness. I consider it well engineered and well designed. It’s 100% ‘plug and play’ straight out of the box. As expected, and quite normal, there is a loss of light by about two stops. It’s a great lens and I’ve been using my Kenko 2X teleconverter for several months,

Autofocus struggles at times but for the price it cant be beaten and a little bit of manual focus doesnt hurt
