First of all, you don't need a UV filter on digital cameras, as sensors already have their own UV filter. UV filters will also block a bit more light than a clear filter: the Pro1D only lets 97% of light through, whereas this Fusion Antistatic lets 99.8%! So, if you have a smaller sensor and want to maximize the amount of light hitting the sensor, you know what to do: get a CLEAR filter!Then, this is the successor to the Pro1 Digital: it has a much better coating that is much easier to clean. My previous Pro1 was a pain to clean compared to B+W filters. On top of it, it should require less cleaning to begin with, as it's antistatic...Then regarding flaring and ghosting,

I tend to keep my fingers off so I can't comment on the ease of cleaning but I am most impressed by the lack of dust. That is presumably due to the anti-static properties.The other thing that impresses me is the lack of reflections. I have seen no evidence of internal reflections in photos and the filter itself can hardly be seen unless you deliberately reflect a bright light off it. Hidden inside the inverse hood that I use, it is all but invisible.This is my first Hoya 'Fusion' filter but I have several other Hoya 'Super HMC' and 'HD' filters. This seems to be the best as far as dust is concerned.

The Protector filter makes a very good impression so far. Even fingerprints can be removed with a dry lens cleaning microfibre cloth without leaving any residue. Good for travelling without lens cleaning fluid. The antistatic attribute seems OK, although not all materials are "rejected". A good buy at a fair price.

Hoya undoubtedly the best filters. Thought I'd try one of these newer Fusion protector filters for my newly acquired L series Canon lens.Too soon to say if it has any effect on Image quality but I doubt it will. Protects the lens from scratches so a must for an expensive (or any) lens.

Superb filters which have turned me away from my usual B+W obsession . These Hoya Fusion filters are much better in every way and i'd rate them as the best quality filters on the market today ! and they arrive spotlessly clean which is very rare with other makes including B+W .

Modern digital camera lenses don't need a UV filter - but they do need protection. Protection certainly doesn't come any better than the Hoya Fusion filter. It's clear, anti-static and minimises fingerprints and smears too. A 5-Star product!

I bought this because I wanted to protect my new lens against scratching. It was easy to screw on and when I take photos, there isn’t any difference. They are not cheap but if your lens was expensive then it is definitely worth it.

I have only used this product for a month or so. It does not cause any colour effects in the picture. I like the fact that in-place on the lens, it is almost invisible.

First class product. Fitted to my new Panasonic Leica Lumix DG Summilux 15mm F/1.7 ASPH Lens. Has been excellent in light rain, easy to clean and totally clear.

Well made lens protector and of high quality. Filter is very slim so does not darken the edges of the pictures. Typical high quality item from Hoya.

I was quite impressed with how easy it is to clean this filter and keep it smudge free. I'll be buying these Fusion filters for all my lenses.

Great product, super clear optics, antistatic layer protects against dust... Very easy to clean and without any effect on picture quallity...

Hoya 52 mm / 52mm Fusion Antistatic Protector Filter Makes a good work. It protects my GoPro camera lens well.
