In the adventure puzzle genre this game could be considered above average but not amongst the top echelon as it's not quite polished enough. It is nevertheless still a thoroughly enjoyable experience with 8 chapters, plenty of areas to visit, a multitude of hidden objects scenes and an inbuilt strategy guide.Also, once the game is completed a bonus level is released together with other extras including concept art, music and wallpapers.The artwork, music and incidental sounds really compliment each other and provide a sense of consistency throughout the game. The penmanship, although good, is not however as precise as in the higher end games and appears a little grainy.The animations are quite nice although some are better than others, specifically the smoke effects at the end.As is normal in this genre game play consists of travelling to and from various areas, playing hidden object games and collecting items to be combined with other objects to achieve a particular goal. Many interactions are obvious but some are more obscure however the strategy guide button can be accessed in-game if you get stuck. There are also playing cards to locate in line with the theme of the game.The hidden object areas are not too overcrowded and a lot of the objects are realistic in appearance and placement but not all. I found the scenes a pleasure to look at and enjoyed spending time searching out the better hidden items.Hints are unlimited and appear as a swirl of cards. They are very accurate and recharge in about a minute although the skip button for the mini games takes a lot longer.The mini games range in style and difficulty and most are fun to play. There is also an option to skip them if need be.At the very end the next instalment is introduced as Haunted Legends: The Bronze Horseman and I eagerly look forward to it's release.This game was fun to play, was neither too short nor too long and the extra level was a nice bonus. Although I can thoroughly recommend buying it as it is very good value for money, I could only give it 4 stars as it is not as polished as the higher rated games in the genre.

I did a trial playing of this game some time ago, but I'd forgotten about it. When I finally bought it and began playing I found it challenging enough to hold my interest. Who am I kidding? I kept going until I'd solved it. I'd advise players to keep their eyes peeled for the playing cards, they aren't always easy to find, but the game keeps you engaged and is not just a hidden object, there are certainly some surprises along the way! I say no more.

Very entertaining game with lots of scenes, excellent visual effects and an ongoing collection of cards to remember to pick up. It took several hours to complete with a variety of scenes to investigate and return to.

i HAVE A LOT OF THESE TYPE OF GAMES SO I KNEW WHAT TO EXPECT. THIS GAME DELIVERED EXCITEMENT BY THE HOUR. PLENTY OF GAME PLAY, VERY ADDICTIVE. I WAS SORRY WHEN I COMPLETED IT. ABOUT 5 HOURS.

Great story. Great scenes and great hidden objects.The puzzles were very good and not to easy.I would recommend it , also it took some time to do,and it was not over in a flash.Teresa

Played the regular version of this game several times and wanted to see what else there was. A very enjoyable game. Will look for the rest in the series.

good and well constucted game, but if you play a lot of h.o.g games you might find it a bit too easy. but overall really enjoyed it.

Excellent value for money for those who like HO games- not too taxing for the brain but enjoyable all the same. Worth giving a go

this has got to be the greatest game I have played for a long time. it had me gripped from beginning to end. fantastic game.

This is a good game with lots of twists and turns. Don't forget to collect the playing cars as you'll need them at the end
