This will be a long feedback, but I feel worthwhile for a product that I would recommend.I searched for long enough to try and find a tap that has a tall swivel column, thereby reducing the forces applied to the internal sealing rings that the short column versions experience. These forces result in the failure of the sealing rings and the tap leaks around the swivel, which is unattractive and undesirable. This tap appears to fit the bill, but only time will tell if my theory is to be proven; it has a smooth lever operation (both for water flow and hot/cold mixing) and smooth swivel. The problem that I faced was that the tap is fitted with small bore hoses (and presumably small bore internals),which loses pressure and therefore on a hot supply with gravity feed head tank in the loft of a bungalow the flow of water was a trickle. I overcame this problem by installing a pump on the hot water supply, but this more than doubled the cost of replacing the old leaking Franke tap. One other problem was adapting the G3/8 female hose fittings to my 15mm copper supplies, which was achieved by using 15x10 compression straight couplings (the thread of the male part of the 10mm end matches the G3/8 female hose connection perfectly (parallel thread and face to face seals)). The price of the tap was great, especially when you consider that it came direct from Germany (Post paid!), and cheaper than the same item from any UK supplier that I tried. Delivery time was quite acceptable, perhaps slightly longer than some UK suppliers, but then for the additional price I would have expected next day before noon! So, in summary, for those with at least 1 bar water pressure this tap is recommended and for those with less than 1 bar, I would still recommend the tap and recommend that you install a pump (described as a Shower Pump).

This is German engineering at its best.A superbly made tap. The quality of the chroming is outstandingly good with a flawless finish. The action of the lever is as smooth and precise as you can imagine and when you turn it off, not a single drop dribbles from the end. The body or stem of the tap rotates like a ballerina on ice to allow you to move the spout from side to side.It is really substantial, heavy and undoubtedly highly durable.Because the lever is top mounted, you can easily turn the water supply on with the palm of your hand and so sticky fingers from cooking won't leave marks on the leaver.- The lever can also be easily closed using just your elbow which means that you can readily turn the water off if your hands are already full.I originally bought a cheaper tap but sent it back as the quality was not what I wanted and bought this instead. I am so glad I did. Hansgrohe deserves its longstanding reputation for outstanding qualityThe flexible braded tail-pipes which are supplied are already in place and the fitting/plumbing-in of the unit was very easy. You will need two simple tail adapters ( about £1 each) to convert the tails to domestic UK tube sizes but don't let this put you off and it takes a second to put them on.If you are looking for a chrome pillar tap with a single lever, this tap is not only a joy to use and operate but shouts quality and is engineered to extremely high standards.Highly recommended and a real bargain at this price.

Another vote for this excellent piece of German engineering. This tap has actually been DESIGNED - function and form married together perfectly. A joy to fit (unlike the sink!) and flawless in use from the start. My only observation is that I had to "guesstimate" the 7Nm of torque which should be applied to the screws below the large brass retaining nut (think 7 small apples and a 1m-long bar attached at right-angles to the screwdriver...). Brilliant idea, though - easily beats randomly tightening the nut with a spanner in a potentially confined space. It's a pleasure to use and I look forward to flawless service for many years. As already pointed out in others' comments, don't forget to order a pair of 3/8" male to 15mm compression fittings (assuming you have standard UK 15mm copper pipe).

I bought the Hansgrohe Focus 160 kitchen tap to replace the Franke taps that came with the sink when I installed the kitchen 6 years ago. I tried Blanco Daras taps first but even the box that they came in looked disappointing and the tap was no better. so I exchanged them for the Hansgrohe. The box looked great and the tap is just beautiful. The tap comes with flexible hoses already attached ending in the standard European 3/8" connectors and the hot pipe is marked with a red band. You will need a pair of 3/8" to 15mm adapters to connect to 15mm supplies. I promise that you will not be disappointed with the soft aerated water that the tap delivers. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

COMPRESSION ADAPTER MAY BE REQUIRED. The tap fixing can go into a deep work top however making the hole will require a special hole saw. Fits to my sink easily but had to make the main hole bigger. The flexie feed pipes do not unscrew and perhaps held in by means of a clip release. So you can't change them. All is well made and the valve is made in Germany. To any diy person make sure your stop check valves work and be aware they can leek after being used. Did happen once. You need the stopcock access then. Check these before starting any work. The design is for ease of use and a sensible one. Therefore I like it.

Great quality without breaking the bank. I also have hansgrohe taps and shower in my bathroom and they're worlds apart from the rubbish you get in the diy sheds. The only issue - and this is by no means the fault of the tap - is with how thin modern stainless steel sinks have become. Large, heavy taps like this cause the thin metal to flex during operation. My kitchen installer tried fobbing me off saying it can't be rectified, but I discovered Franke sell a tap brace which secures the underside of the tap to the worktop. It does the job but I wish I'd chosen a sturdier sink to begin with.

This is a typical example of the German quality workmanship. This superbly engineered tap is simple to operate and will swivel through 360 degrees. It is the only tap I know of that doesn't splash everything within 10 feet of the sink. Please be aware that the its' flexible pipes are designed for a high pressure water supply.Your cold water will probably run very well as it will come off the mains but the hot water pressure (the volume of flow) will depend on whether or not the supply is fed from your tank in the loft or directly from the mains water.

I really like this tap! It feels well made and looks stunning. It is very shiny and modern looking. It does mark, but it is easy to restore the shine with a dry microfibre clothe. I read other reviews about needing certain fittings but they must be pretty common place as my plumber had what he needed with him. The spout swivels very easily. This tap is non splash. I love going to work with a dry jacket these days! I have been using it for about a month and have no problems to report. I would highly recommend this tap.

Bought two of these for kitchen and utility, both for use on a high pressure system (combi boiler). Beautifully made taps with a lovely deep, shiny, finish that wipes easily to a perfect shine with a microfibre cloth and a super smooth positive action. Love the way the spout turns all the way round out of the way. Absolutely no splashing due to foaming design of spout. Completely delighted and would never buy another make of tap having had a Hansgrohe. Excellent value for money.

Really well made tap, easy to install but worth noting the tap flexi hose ends with a 12mm connector so will probably require a compression reduced coupler [15mmx12mm ],the 15mm end fits the water pipe, the male thread of the 12mmend matches the tap hose.Been installed a couple of weeks now and very pleased with our purchase.

Just had this fitted in my new kitchen. Chose this make after reading lots of good reviews. I like the simple style, it has a lovely smooth movement and looks good quality. Easy to wipe over and keep shiny. Seems even better than the Grohe tap I have in my bathroom which takes more buffing to remove water marks.

Quality product. Stylish and easy to clean. I actually have this tap in my bathroom and was a bit worried when ordering that it would be too big but it actually turns out to be perfect, especially as the sink is on the big side too.

It was going to cost me more to replace worn out items in my existing mixer tap than to buy a new one. I am very pleased with this Hansgrohe. It was easy to install and works extremely well. I would certainly recommend it.

Lovely tap - easy to fit and looks very contemporary in my newly fitted kitchen. The aerator works brilliantly - lovely soft water flow - no splashback at all even at high pressure. Arrived quickly and well packaged.

Works well, you need a 3/8 compression fitting converter if you have standard isolators. These are a couple of pounds from Toolstation. Performance of the tap is great, really pleased with it. A bargain price too
