I purchased this Fotodiox Olympus OM to Pentax Q adapter so that I could use some of my film-era lenses on my new Pentax Q. The device is well made, with a convenient tripod screw mount so that the tripod mount on the Q does not have to bear the load of heavy lenses. The only problem I have noticed it that the OM bayonet mount seems to be slightly loose, allowing the mounted lens to shift very slightly left/right/up/down, but not tilt. The movement is very slight, and does not seem to impact the image quality. Other reviews of the Fotodiox adapters have noted some internal reflection problems due to the interior not being flat black. I have not (yet) noted this. The interior is finely grooved and not particularly shiny,so perhaps there has been a design change. All in all I am very pleased with this adapter, and have purchased additional versions to allow use of my Canon FD and Pentax M42 lenses with the Pentax Q.Update: I now agree that the Fotodiox adapters benefit from a coat of flat black paint on the interior surface to reduce internal reflections, which improves overall contrast.

This worked well. It fit well. You do have to be careful that you attach it to the camera correctly. If it feels loose, it is not attached properly. I would suggest practicing with the adapter and the camera without a lens to get a feel for how it attaches.I have some great OM lenses. I wanted to use them. They seemed so small to me on my OM SLR years ago. Now they seem heavy and so big compared to the Pentax Q.I would not use an adapter without a tripod mount. The lens is really heavy compared to the camera and if I were to use the camera tripod mount, I would not like the unbalanced feel and I would worry about the pulling on the lens mount surface.I did take some photos hand holding the camera, and using the anti shake option on the Pentax Q. It worked pretty good until zooming the lens a ridiculous amount. The Pentax Q recognizes the lens is not a standard Q lens and tells you but it also helps you set it up. I am more amazed by the power of the little Pentax Q every time I use it and being able to use my collection of OM lenses for a modest price is so nice.

This gives good results when used with the excellent Olympus OM glass. I used a 75-150mm f4.0 zoom and obtained excellent results at 150mm which is an equivalent of 825mm when used on a Pentax Q. Build quality is very good and all metal. You can only use aperture priority or manual with this as there is no electric connection. In practice this isn't a problem if you know how to use these modes. You are also limited to the camera's electronic shutter (the £250 Pentax one has a leaf shutter) and manual focus, again not really a problem unless you make a living photographing racing cars. A tripod is pretty much essential and this has a tripod mount which prevents strain on camera lens mount andtripod socket.I've also bought the Pentax K to Q adaptor which has issues - please see separate review.
