I like to make miniature models of food, doll house miniatures and decoden style models. I normally use a very light weight paper clay called Hearty which produces smooth lightweight air dry results. However, Hearty is not cheap and I decided to try Fimo Air light as an alternative as I get double the amount of clay for the same price. The clay is white, has a slight dryness to it which gives it a little bit of crumble when you are working with it, this can be remedied with small amounts of water. It shapes well and dries within a couple of days to a very nice finish which is very light. It can be sanded, painted etc. once dry. I mistakenly purchased Fimo Air BASIC before I purchased Fimo Air LIGHT.The basic version is much heavier and not what I wanted at all. I will purchase again as it is much cheaper than Hearty and other Japanese imported air dry clays.

Good value for money. I LOVE this product. It dries over night and its easy to work with (just add more water if you need it to be more malleable consistency) You can add more clay to your creation even after it dries (just wet the dry clay surface and carry on!). It sands easily if you want to smooth the clay after drying. This product really is light weight and perfect for making costume/cosplay props: I am using it to make horns for a headpiece and the horns haven't fallen apart under their own weight like normal clay I used previously.

A really good modelling clay that happens to be very light too. May matter to you if you're making something large or might send it through the post. It is very tough when dry and sands to give a silky white finish more attractive than plaster of Paris. I've deducted a star because it has a slight elasticity that can interfere with creating a shape, but it is much less troublesome than DAS, for example.

Lightweight and easy to work with. I found it took two days to dry out, and even then it has quite a spongy texture which might not suit all projects but was fine for what I needed it for. I think this would be ideal for kids to use, although they might be frustrated with the wait for hardening off.

It’s light, easy to model with, especially on small scale and I can dry the microwaveable product in ten minutes. Once dry, I sand down and give a layer of white gesso before I decoupage and or paint over the surface with acrylics, then add embellishment. See photo of my art doll.

Excellent clay. Great to mold into desired shape. Air dries exactly the same colour , with no need to paint white afterwards. Worth the extra money spent as the final outcome is superb.

I use this to add fine detail to my paper mâché sculptures. It's superb and is easy to paper mâché over and paint.
