I bought this to connect to a Samsung Syncmaster 245B 24 inch monitor, which I successfully managed to do. The arm has a lot of range of motion, and feels well built. There is a video from the manufacturer here, showing how to install it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvK_RbLfQfg (has no sound)The arm has a 100 x 100 VESA mounting. I needed to also purchase the "Ergotron VESA Bracket Adaptor Kit" (also sold by Amazon) to connect it to the 200 x 100 VESA mounting on my monitor. This was a little bit fiddly, and the screw-holes don't fully line up, but I got it working, and I'm no handyman! Before I connected my monitor to the arm, I thought I'd check that the arm actually moved as it should, since I've seen a couple of people say that their arm didn't move, and that Ergotron had told them this was a fault. Well, I couldn't get the arm to move at all, so I contacted Ergotron support via their website, who quickly wrote back to say that the monitor acts as a counterbalance, and the arm won't move without it being there. That's true - as soon as I connected the monitor the arm moved fine. There are a couple of Allen key holes that you can tighten and loosen to control the stiffness of the arm, for height and tilt adjustment. It's quite fiddly to get the Allen key into the holes when the whole thing is assembled, especially if you have your desk with its back to a wall, and it would have been easier if these were knobs rather than Allen keys. At least you do get an Allen key with a nice big handle included in the pack, which is good. My advice would be to tighten the Allen keys fairly tight (not quite all the way) before you attach the monitor, because it's a lot easier to access the Allen key holes before you've attached the monitor.

I bought two of these after buying a cheaper pair of monitor arms. The cheaper pair really were not up to the job. The monitors that I am mounting are a 27 inch and 24 inch, so the cheaper arms could not support the weight amongst other design defects. However two of these easily support a 27 inch and a 24 inch monitor. The manipulability of this arm is excellent. Construction is quick and easy, 20 minutes to do two arms. Also the desk I use is quite deep however arms are long enough to reach across the desk. Whilst I have only started using them, at the moment I cannot fault them. Only thing I noticed was they seem a prone to wobble up and down with external vibration but I do think that this will be an issue for me.Saying that every monitor arm I have used, including professional quality ones at work, suffer from this problem. All round excellent. When I first saw them the price I put me off, as they are quite expensive. Compared to other products half their price this item is definitely worth more than double their value. Particularly if you are mounting large / heavy monitors, I would strongly recommend going straight for these and paying a bit more.

This is my first experience with an arm for a monitor - well, personal experience, I've never had one myself - but so far I have to say I'm impressed. The counterbalance is near on perfect, the arm is easy to manipulate, and it's a breeze to set up.The only downside I've found so far is that it doesn't quite go high enough. I originally bought this with the aim of making a standing desk, but it seems I'll have to further engineer it to get the monitor that high with this arm.On the up side, the problem that other people seem to be mentioning about the base arm being hard to maneuver is a non-issue. From what I could figure, people were saying the base pole doesn't move, and amusingly enough it's not supposed to.The arm does have a grub screw to tighten it up, but I've left it loose for maximum movement. Maybe people have been tightening that and thinking the base pole was supposed to rotate? No idea. The conclusion would be that this is a good arm.Pros: Pretty much everything, except...Cons: Doesn't raise high enough to my tastes.

I was interested in a mounting arm for my desk top PC and looked at all the offerings on Amazon and agonised about the price and the specs....this one was slightly costlier than many others but I have a similar mount at office. So thought- what the hell, basically you get what you pay for and therefore why not go with a better product even if it is more expensive. I have to say this is the best- it came earlier than scheduled- all nicely packed. Assembly is minimal and unfussy- and the construction is really solid and exudes quality and finish. It is VERY strong and stable and is one of those things you buy once for life.I have no negative remarks whatsoever- normally I hate writing reviews- but this is for those of you who like me were vacillating between which to buy and whether to buy at all in the first place...buy this one. You will never regret it and it will look fab on your desk.

I needed a way to lower my monitor as I have been suffering from neck and shoulder pain from looking up at my monitor for years. The Ergotron LX Desk Mount seemed a reasonably inexpensive way to resolve this, (considering it cost less than 3 trips to the physio which I've been having to do regularly of late).Out of the box it's heavy, feels well built and packaged nicely. I found the instructions a little confusing but it's fairly clear what to do if you give it a minute. I just clamped on the base to the top shelf of my desk, screwed the vesa mount (with the arm attached) on to the back of my monitor and mounted this piece on to the base and job done.It came with an additional arm link which I'm not using at the moment but I can see it will be great if and when I get a 2nd monitor. For now, My monitor is lower than it was but it's easy to move up down left right and rotate. Job done.

Bought 2 of these arms, it was great at first until after assembling I realised the parts didn't quite fit tight enough and was wobbling a little. There's actually no way to correct this as it seems spare margin was intention from the design. There is a screw provided to tighten, however in doing so the product would not move smoothly so this would rather defeat the purpose. Tension-wise, it's great. Adjusting the tension will hold the monitor in place and I like the fact the tilt will stay in place even while adjusting height! Note that due to the placement of the adjusting screw, you'd have to rotate the monitor out of place while adjusting tension...In the end the slight wobbly "feature" annoyed me more so than anything else so this had to go back. For the price bracket, it's not bad, just not for me. I ended up spending 33% more to get a better monitor arm (in my opinion) instead.

I ordered this to use with my new Cintiq as I didn't want to fork out the £300 off for Wacom's own make stand, but was struggling to use the tablet with the built-in stand it comes with. It was a little flimsy to assemble, more than anything because my tablet is so heavy! I also initially forgot to add in the little screw which stops the plate fastened to the back of the tablet from spinning. Once I added that in it holds the cintiq happily. I can keep it pushed back and out of the way when out of use, and when I do wish to use it I can have it slanted across the desk, upright, standing up with it off the desk, whatever works for whatever I'm doing.I would say it's maybe not the strongest model out there, but if you were using this for a lighter weight graphics tablet, or for a PC monitor or a TV I think it would be perfectly adequate.

Bought for use with a Cintiq 24inch touch. great for getting the screen out of the way when i dont want to touch or draw on it, and actually use it as a second monitor. wish the range of up-down motion was a little larger but thats what more expensive versions are for.the stand holds the monitor in whatever position i leave it in. it occasionally slowly rotates, because my desk is bending under the strain, making the arms not level as so they swivel a little, but thats my desks problem.the wobble when touching the screen is a bit awkward but you get used to it pretty quickly. i try and rest it on my desk to keep it as still as possible anyway though.the cable tidy is useful and keeps everythingneat.

I got this because I wanted to be able to turn my display around when showing a colleague something on my computer screen. It is very simple to assemble, I did need a block of wood for my desk which was not supplied. The cables mount tidly on the arm and you can spin the display around nearly one handed. It stays exactly where it is put, once you have adjusted the spring compensators, again this is a simple job and allen key is supplied for this. Some of my staff think it is from a hospital but I like the look of it and it is easy to clean. All in all a fine looking bit of kit that does just as it says on the pack.

Ergotron products are always good and this is no exception. The item is well made and strong. Only thing I can criticise is the cable managment at the bottom of the stand (see pic). Would of been nice to have the option to bring the cables through the tube so they are hidden. Unfortunately this is not possible as the fixing that holds the base to the table blanks off the tube. I am sure ergotron can make a few improvements on this. I ended up bringing my cables out the side of the stand which looks a bit messy. There are other methods I can think of but it would be nice for Ergotron to have a solution for this.

I selected this product because it appeared from the pictures and the specification to be a quality product, I was right. The quality and finish is exceptional and the design and construction are both elegant and robust, I am sure it will give a lifetime of reliable and perfect service. Also the price was very modest bearing in mind the overall quality and especially so when compared with much of the rubbish on the market provided for mounting monitors and tv's etc.I will certainly buy another should anyone else in the family have a need and I would wholeheartedly recommend them, a first class product.

I was a bit sceptical spending this much on an desk mount, especially because I needed 3, and never purchased one before. After goggling for a while and looking at the specs on Ergotron's website, I got an idea how much weight they could take, and what depth the screens can be, since that affects the arm's performance (because of the screen's center of mass, I guess). My biggest screen is not that thin.I can say I'm quite happy with the purchase. The box included everything I needed, and the assembly was dead easy.I've mounted those with 3 screens (Benq xl2420t, HP LP2475w, Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ)

Easy to put together, solid quality and perfect for a cintiq screen. How i managed without one prior is beyond me. £100ish is a fair chunk of cash to throw down on a monitor arm, however if like me you use a wacom cintiq it really is a must purchase as it makes drawing a lot more comfortable and the cintiq is a pretty hefty device,You need to spend out on a quality arm that will hold the weight of your monitor and a quick tighten of the hydrolic pressure with an alan key and this holds the cintiq in any position without fear of it collasping under the weight

I've had my Wacom 21UX cintiq hooked up to this bad boy since new year 2014, and my workplace has never been better. Utilising a standing desk setup, this robot arm means I can adjust the height and tilt of my cintiq to compensate for my variable working positions (morning upright, midday wobble, evening slouch) which was impossible before when it was just sitting on the desk.Setting the arm up is easy enough that a flake like me managed it, and the stability of the arm is a revelation. I have no complaints, only compliments.

Very nice bit of gear supporting my LG 34" Ultrawide monitor that I use with a MacBook Pro. The brushed aluminium and black plastic trim matches my Aeron executive chair and it balances neatly on an IKEA standing desk.A quality product like this should serve for a few generations of monitors and computers, so the product is in my view very good value at this price. All the ergonomics and cable tidying works great. The products packaging, documentation and etc. was also top notch.
