Empire Earth 2 is a good strategy game. It is, as it's name suggests, the second of the series. It is basically the same game as Empire Earth 1. Since Empire Earth 1 was extremely fun, this is a good thing. But, the title was it WAS fun, not it is fun. When I first bought it, it was amazing. I created many spearmen, and told them to explore, and they soon found the opponent civilization. Then I started to attack and had a very hard time (it took 3 hours) to defeat the enemy. However, after a few times, I found that it was pretty ordinary, and very basic, as the entire game is about 'attack the enemy'. Basically the aim of the game it to eradicate the enemy. You can become more technologically advanced, but still the aim is to destroy the enemy. A good strategy is simply to attack anything that isn't yours. This gets repetitive after a while, and you really cannot play this game for long (unlike other games where you can choose whether to build a huge civilization with amazing treasures and wonders or choose to build a magnificent but strong army and civilization. The main storyline can get quite boring at times, especially when you have to keep destroying troops again and again.Graphics: The graphics are raher primitive. The zoom-in view gives you a good view of your troops, but it is useless, as you cannot command them in it. To command your troops you have to zoom out, where the graphics are dated. Also, there is no rotate button, meaning that you have to keep looking at your troops at one view, meaning that if you cannot reach a few troops, you have to keep scrolling along the screen.Empire Earth is a good game with a good main storyline, even if it can get repetitive at times. However, I only played and enjoyed it in the first few days.

I have been playing this now for two days. The main thing that strikes me is the quality of the graphics. For those of you that played Empire Earth and enjoyed it then you will love this. Some neat new features have been included including the ability to rotate the camera around. For those of you who didn't play the original, the game combines elements of Age of Empires II and the settlers. For those of you expecting the involvement that you get from the likes of Rome total war, then you will be disappointed it aimed at the more pick up and play market.Good pointsGreat GraphicsGreat game playAbility to span 15,000 years worth of developmentOn the down sideThe advances at an incredible rate (as per the original)even on the easiest level I find I am still using cavemen when his B52 comes in to wipe me outThe game requires a good PC to run it, it runs fine on my desktop (AMD FX53, ATI X800XT, 2GB RAM) however it really struggles on my laptop (P4 2.6Ghz, G4 4200Go, 512mb RAM) so make sure your PC is up to spec before parting with your hard earned cash!

On the whole Empire Earth [EE] is pretty enjoyable. Certainly it is good fun to advance and then crush less advanced civilisations. But rather than attack lesser beings, I want a challenge. Maybe I am not playing it hard enough, but I find advancing gives so much more of an advantage and if you do not advance quick enough you lose out your chance to win. I almost always end up being in Epoch XV (the highest) and just nuking my enemies. It just doesn't work for me sadly, I'd rather have a challenge, but not get swamped and miss out on any chance to advance. It is without a doubt, any gap of about 5 epochs onwards the more advanced player will win. The Map editor is OK,but annoyingly demanding I feel and the two different ways of saving the map are confusing! In essence a quite enjoyable game, but not brilliant and I feel it leaves me not quite satisfied yet...

If you enjoyed the first version of Empire earth, then you will love the second version. It includes everything that you loved about the first and improved on graphics and game play. The only thing that is annoying is that when there is a snow storm ( yes there is now weather) you can't see anything. I playedthe original for years and will play this version for years to come. It is always different and never the same game. If you are a shoot and roam (Doom 3, Half Life) kinda person then this is not for you. This is a game that can take days to finish certain senarios. So if you have time, and think that you can build the next Empire to stand through time...... give it a shot.

This game is much better than the origenal with the MUCH better graphics and new civilisation powers and special units. The addition of weather and seasons makes the game that little bit hardder.However. Having said that there is one poroblem. As I said the graphics are excellent and because thay are so good the game has a fair amount of lage.Apart for that I would strongly recomend buying this game :)

This is a great game and is a good improvement on the first. The thing I want to get over though is you need a really meaty PC to get this to run well. I am running on a 2.8Ghz PC with a 9800 Radeon card and it is just acceptable. Anything less than that and as soon as the screen gets busy it will lag to a halt.Online is awful by the way! Lags like Soldier of Fortune 2.

Good game, many different ways to play. Good campaign plus hours of fun to be had in skirmish mode.I would recommend this game to any one with a tactical mindset.
