I bought this for a friend who is an investigator. He lives in Wales and I live in Yorkshire, I performed the buying on my mobile phone through Argos. He gave me his postcode and I chose the nearest Argos to his house. Click and collect. Job done. I bought one for myself. You'll need to update the software/firmware for the drone. Easily done. It can work with hand gestures, track and follow you, avoid obstacles and film in 4K with RAW imagery 18meg. Pre programmed flight modes. And easy to fly
Finally got the Mavic Air & chose the white version, was surprised to see it’s actually a Matt White unlike the red version which is glossy which would’ve looked much nicer. Upon setting up you’ll have a number of firmware & software updates, before you’re ready to go! This drone is a beast & sounds like a bunch of angry hornets as it takes off into the distance. If you are new to drones make sure you fly in a wide open area and start off in beginners mode along with the prop guards.
Upgraded to the Mavic Sir from a DJI Spark and what a huge difference! The folding design is nlbrilliant, the object avoidance and APAS system are really useful, especially if your using the Active Track features on the Air. Have already bought 2 more batteries and a high speed Micro SD card for extended 4K footage, but even without the Mavic Air can still record 8GB of 4K footage on its internal memory. A fantastic purchase!
This is my second drone, but the first, the Mavic Mini would not work with my phone which is why I would recommend loading the software first, to see if it is compatible with your phone. The Mavic Air software was fine with my phone, so that is why I got this one. I do like the fact that it will fly in stronger winds than the Mini and the picture quality is fantastic.
