After three attempts I've finally got the size right on these. The 32" felt like a pair of jeans fresh out the wash, a little too tight but you expect them to give over the first few hours. Problem is these don't really give it all (the 65% polyester?) so by the end of the day they were still too tight and I felt like I'd been cut in half. Next up I bought a 34", but somehow this turns them from a slim fit through the bum and thigh into hanging off me. Fine for skateboarding but not really the look I was after.I finally got a pair of 33" and they're perfect. The cut of these isn't slim in any fashion brand sense of the word though. They're cut slim through the bum and thigh but then remain straight at that width down to the ankles,so if you size them right you get an almost boot cut look that hugs around the top then swings at the bottom. I wear them short or rolled up with a pair of white socks and some Vans and see that that style is breaking free of it's skateboarding roots into the mainstream. They're also, intentionally, very short in the crotch and designed to be worn lower down, unlike the Dickies 874 which sit right around the waist. If you feel they're too short, go up and inch and wear them lower down. The material is super stiff out the wash but this goes after a couple of washes leaving you with a very hard wearing trouser, which is why the skateboard community have adopted them as you can fall on concrete all day without ripping them to bits. The creases do remain to a degree though, and you can always iron them back in to keep them sharp, if that's what you're after.

I've owned a pair of Dickies before and knowing how their sizes go, people who aren't familiar with it definitely needs to go 2-3 sizes up. I bought a pair of 34/30First of I'm a body builder. 5'10, 210lbs. I regularly wear 32's which is true to my size which majority of my jeans are but the fit are mostly low rise slim cut jeans mainly for going out and def snug on leg area ( Diesel / True Rel / Seven / etc ). It's just how I like my going out jeans. I own a pair of Luckys that I purposely bought 34's relaxed fit to have more room for the legs for everyday kick back jeans and it def has a 2' give on the waist and breathing room for my legs. These Dickies pair I got def fit the description since I know how they are.Waist as an inch give, snug at the hips(which how slim fit are suppose to be) and leg area are relaxed but a little room for since I have big legs.Overall I like how they fit because I didn't want a super tight or a super loose fit. It's exactly how I wanted it to look for work. It's almost like a custom tailored fit for me.I'll def get more !

I love dickies pants but the waist has always been a little odd for me.I wear a 32x30 in practically every jean/pants. However,as has always been in dickies I have to go 1 size up (33)in the waist for them to fit correctly.when I saw dickies released the 873 slim straight pant I jumped all over this and ordered 5 pairs. As I always have I ordered 33x30 thinking that style was slightly slimmer but it didn't appear that the waist would fit differently. I was wrong. The waist was huge. I tried them with a belt but got that annoying scrunched up thing going on. That's not doable for me. As I bought the 5 pairs from amazon (3 different retailers at that)I thought it's be easier to exchange them through the dickies factory for the size that I actually wear 32x30. Still waiting on them to arrive.but my advice (for the 873 slim straight)would most definitely be to order a size SMALLER then what you generally wear from dickies. Other then that the products seemed great.I've always liked dickies work pants and will continue to as I've worn then since I was 13.

I wore 874 for about six years. They only started looking old in the last year or so. I found the rise to be long in the 874. These promised a shorter rise, and they sit just below my stomach. Where I like them to, more like a pair of 501s. Through the thigh, they feel like the 874.I got the 40w 32l. They actually feel a little big waist wise but no biggie as I wear a belt.I was a little dodgy on the leg length, but they are fine. I usually get a 34l so I can get them taken up, but it wasn't offered here. I got a pair of D2 Dockers in 34l, and I measured them up, looks like there is an inch difference. All up a good buy for the price which requested to about $28 Australian including shipping.I bought four pairs and probably should have got five, all in black. They are also very stiff out of the bag. Another poster mentioned that they are right around the Willy Wang. Can be, wear comfy under pants. You'll be right.

My husband purchased 5 pairs of these pants to replace his new uniform pants offered through work. No matter what size he tried in the rental uniforms pants they were all too high-waisted. The high waist resulted in his belt sitting way above his natural waistline, and was painful after a few hours, and also looked quite stupid. The other option was to forgo the belt and pull up the pants constantly. After getting no where with the uniform company, he sought out his own work pants. The Dickie's Slim Straight Fit work pants turned out to be better than any work pants he's worn in the last 30 years. He's very happy with the overall better fit of the Dickies brand. They are much better quality,so they will last longer. The price was very reasonable as well. Highly recommend

I have purchased the style pants before and knew how they would fit. They are definitely on the snug side in the crotch area but the loose waist allows you to alleviate that a little by "sagging" a little. It is slim in the thighs so if you have chubby or muscular thighs, try a different style dickies pants. The Dickies website will help you decide the best fit. I really like the straight leg of these pants though. Not all the pants fit the same regardless of color. My black ones in the same style "fit" a little better in the crotch area, so not all fit exactly the same. I love these pants either way. Go with the Rigid if you work for a living, not the slim if you do lots of "moving" in and out of things.

I like these pants. I work bench making pizza part time and I wanted something sturdy, stylish, and comfortable. Something I could move around in quickly and bend down in to close shop without tearing the crotch. These pants do the job. They are low rise on the waist which takes a little getting used to but it is not an issue for me. I wear a belt with them through the reinforced belt loop which is a plus. Dickies logo right rear pocket. A stylish modern fit without going full blown hipster slim. These pants have a tapered leg opening so they don't drag or get in the way. No need to roll them up or peg them. Fit neatly over a workboot or shoe. Might, probably will buy another pair.

I'm not usually one to post a review, but I have this idea that those people unsatisfied with this style/fit of pant do not have the body type for it. As a man with "slim/straight" written all over me, these pants are exactly what I require - Well, these pants, and an ass to keep them up a little better. They seem to like sliding down when I start moving at a full hustle.Normally, I'd wear a 34×32 regular fit, but I need these at 32×32. Weird. They're comfy, rugged, and they fit properly. The reason I didn't give them 5/5 stars is because the crease on the right leg isn't where it's supposed to be on either pair. It's starts fine, but ends at my inner ankle.

I need smart but strong trousers for work. now these at £35 are about double what I would normally pay and they're expensive compared with other dickies workwear but they're going to easily last twice as long as trousers I normally wear. Now sizing, I usually wear size 36 and decided to heed other peoples advice and size up to 38 and I'm glad I did, they're a little loose but with a belt will be perfect and I don't have the tightness others have reported thanks to them sitting a little lower. Other thing to note is here my legs are normally too long for 31 inch leg but little short for 33 which is the UK standard but these 32's are again just right.

I think another reviewer said it best - these are the old school Dickies work pants that are darn near indestructible, only thinner and or slimmer (which I think is great). Also, as another reviewer stated, these are "nut-huggers" in that it's pretty tight in the crotch area, but strangely loose in the waist. Long story short, I like them alot and have order another pair and may order yet another color. These are not a "modern" slim or skinny jean though - the leg openings are a little bigger. Anyway, I wear these to an office that's business casual and they seem fine - other than the wider bellt loops, they would be near perfect office pants.

Yesssss! At last some decent smart work trousers! Previously had the regular fit versions, which were great but I wanted slimer fit in the legs. Didn't know these existed, so bought a few different types of work trouser, but never as good as Dickies. Found these by accident and took a gamble on fit and style, but these have turned out to be exactly what Ive been looking for. I'm fairly sure they will last as well as the regular fit, but so much smarter, particularly if you wear smart safety shoes.Delivery took a while, but was well within the timescale quoted. Overall, I'm really glad I bought these and I'll be buying more soon.

These pants should be called "straight" and not slim straight as there was not much "slim" about them, especially in the legs. The waist fit as expected but the legs were so baggy and had too much extra fabric and room all the way from the thigh down to the opening. My boyfriend, who I bought the pants for, has a big muscular bottom and legs but prefers slimmer fitting pants. Usually our problem is finding a slim looking pant that isn't skin tight on him. With these pants, we couldn't believe how baggy they fit him through the legs. I ended up returning this style and buying the "slim taper" which he is much happier with.

Due to my employers inability to provide me with workwear that fits I bit the bullet and bought myself some Dickies.Wasn't sure on size due to mixed reviews on fit so went in to my local Urban Outfitters and tried a pair for size, 32" waist fits me perfectly, I'm a 31 or 32 in jeans so they are pretty true to size.Very pleased that these were on sale at just over £28 a pair when they are £45 in the shops. Free delivery, ordered Tuesday evening, arrived Saturday, I was in no rush for them.Hopefully they will feel a bit less stiff after a few washes but look smart and hardwearing.

i got these for office work because they are cheap compared to other name brands out there. so i read reviews on this and lot of people said it was tight around the thigh / crotch area and it is. it would be nice if dickies came in slim tapered fitment not just slim around the crotch. its little uncomfortable but you get use to it only if you are not packed big down there (you know what i mean).maybe if you get a larger size it will be ok not %100 sure. other than the tight crotch area its nice pants for any situation.
