Last winter, when I needed some warm mittens for my 45+ minute walks on very cold Winter days, I bought some Carhartt Men's W.P. Waterproof Insulated Mitts. They are the warmest and most well-made mittens I've ever owned. So when I needed warm-weather walking supplies, namely a new pair of cargo shorts, I chose this Carhartt Rigby. Once again, I'm very impressed and I'm beginning to understand why this manufacturer has such a loyal following.I prefer 100% cotton clothing and this pair of shorts is 98% with 2% elastane for stretch. The fabric feels like cotton and is lightweight. I think it will be fine in the hot weather.I'm about 5'9" to 5'10" and 157 pounds. I took the 36, which is my usual size, and the fit is perfect! Carhartt says the fit is "relaxed," and that combined with honest sizing gives a generous amount of room. These are "long shorts" with an 11-inch inseam and come down to the middle of my kneecaps. They have belt loops and accommodate the widest jeans belt that I own.The weather is still cold here, but I wanted to do some furniture rearranging in my condo so I decided to wear the Carhartts during that task. There was much bending, twisting, lugging, squatting and kneeling. The shorts remained completely comfortable without any kind of binding or restriction through the process which lasted an entire evening. They are manufactured in Bangladesh.

Most pants these days arrive at least one size larger than they are labeled. Thus, I normally wear size 34 pants, even though my waist actually measures 35 inches. Thus, I was a bit surprised to find these so-called "relaxed fit" shorts fitting snugly even before washing, and more so after washing. By my tape measure, their post-washing waist is exactly 35 inches, so I can wear them, but more snugly than more of my other pants. My suggestion would be to order 1 size up from usual. As for quality and function, these shorts are great. The fabric is thick and durable, and well-sewn, with pockets everywhere (I counted 9), and in all needed sizes, plus four pockets have Velcro closures to keep stuff in.The zipper is YKK, and the mostly-cotton fabric has 2% Spandex for a bit of stretch. Though not labeled as permanent press, these shorts came out of the dryer with no obvious need for ironing. One size up, and they'd be perfect. As is, they are a good incentive to continue my Keto diet and lose another size.

I've owned a few Carthartt shirts and pants but never any shorts. Was curious to try these out and I actually really like them. They are just as tough as their other clothes, but are also comfortable and great for working on projects at home on the weekends when it's warmer out.Quality is what you'd expect - excellent. I've definitely been missing out on these over the years and plan to buy at least a couple more pairs as soon as possible now that I realize how well they fit me. It's winter time at the time of this review and I've been wearing them around the house all the time because I just really like how they feel. These are 98% cotton and have a bit of stretch in them, but they aren't really tight fitting.I do notice it when I sit down though.

these cargo shorts by Carhartt are the best cargo shorts I've tried. I've long been wearing a line of clothes from REI, some people say I look like I should be in their adverts. I wear clothes that are by Kuhl, Columbia, and REI private brand most of the time. These carhartt shorts are surprisingly good. I'm 6'1" and 175, and these fit me so perfectly that even my wife commented on them. They are very rugged and thick feeling, yet, the material is smooth, comfortable, and non-chafing. They have a variety of pockets and "technical" features too. These are a great length, providing adequate coverage without being too long.this is the first clothing I've owned from Carhartt, and I'll definitely be checking out their entire line.

Pockets, pockets all over. Front left and right have standard pockets plus cargo pockets with a Velcro style closure - that's 4 so far. The right side has TWO more narrow pockets, side by side, stacked on the other two. Ideal for cell phone and a multi-tool. That's six pockets. Then there's two on the rear, both with flaps. That's EIGHT pockets total. So, yea, cargo shorts! There is a LITTLE stretch in the waist - maybe 1/2 an inch. The shorts stretch around 10% - enough so that there's no binding or pinching when bending, squatting, etc. Makes them really comfortable.I have a 38/39 waist. The XL was a little small.

These are nicely made shorts. The fabric is very sturdy, but not too heavy. The shorts are advertised as "relaxed fit", but I think it is closer to a standard American fit than really relaxed. They are comfortable on my muscular legs and the slightly flexy fabric gives me a lot of freedom of movement as I move around. The hand pockets are nice and deep, plus you get 2 big cargo pockets and 2 open tool pockets (only on the right side). My only complaint is that these are pricey for casual shorts. Maybe that's OK if you wear them frequently for work.

Carhartt Men's 11" Rugged Flex Rigby Cargo Shorts are really well made and comfortable. When I first got them I was thinking that they were too rugged to be comfortable, but after washing and drying them they feel really comfortable and fit well. These are much better quality than other cargo shorts I have. These are meant for outdoor activity or more than just sitting on a chair. Price might seem high until you get them and realize that they are well worth the money as they quality is there. Good product.

My husband works outdoors so I bought because Carharrt is so durable. He loves them, especially because they have a bit of stretch added Our experience is that Carharrt fits a size small so we always order up to get the right fit.Well made. Would recommend.

My husband really likes these shorts. We had to order a size larger than usual though. He wears a 36 in other brands and in other styles of Carhartt pants but he fits into a 38 in these. His last pair lasted him a few years of pretty consistent wear.

I normally wear the Carhartt Ripstop 11”. They are currently out of stock. So I tried this model. The material is softest compared to the Ripstop model. I usually order one nice larger in carhartt shorts. I recommend this model every use

These shorts are great, very comfortable and seem to be normal Carhartt quality. In my experience though, the darker colors run smaller, so I order a size up for Navy, Tarmac, etc. but order my true waist size in tan and khaki.

Love these shorts. Sturdy material, don’t feel like they’re going rip if lean or brush up against something. Size, fits as needed. I bought four pair, different styles. I’m sold, won’t go back to other competitors.

Carhart cargo shorts are a long-time staple around here. They’re made with a strong fabric. These shorts are well-made as always and fit as expected. Nothing outstanding, just good basic every day work shorts.

I've fallen asleep in these, and they can take a beating. I would recommend these to anyone who works outside during the summer or anyone that likes being outside and might be a bit rougher on cloths.

I have 2 pair of Carhartt pants so I ordered shorts of the same size. Wrong. Returned for the next size up to get the right fit. Otherwise they're great. Very sturdy fabric. Great pocketage.
