Last winter, when I needed some warm mittens for my 45+ minute walks on very cold Winter days, I bought some Carhartt Men's W.P. Waterproof Insulated Mitts. They are the warmest and most well-made mittens I've ever owned. So when I needed warm-weather walking supplies, namely a new pair of cargo shorts, I chose this Carhartt Rigby. Once again, I'm very impressed and I'm beginning to understand why this manufacturer has such a loyal following.I prefer 100% cotton clothing and this pair of shorts is 98% with 2% elastane for stretch. The fabric feels like cotton and is lightweight. I think it will be fine in the hot weather.I'm about 5'9" to 5'10" and 157 pounds. I took the 36, which is my usual size, and the fit is perfect! Carhartt says the fit is "relaxed," and that combined with honest sizing gives a generous amount of room. These are "long shorts" with an 11-inch inseam and come down to the middle of my kneecaps. They have belt loops and accommodate the widest jeans belt that I own.The weather is still cold here, but I wanted to do some furniture rearranging in my condo so I decided to wear the Carhartts during that task. There was much bending, twisting, lugging, squatting and kneeling. The shorts remained completely comfortable without any kind of binding or restriction through the process which lasted an entire evening. They are manufactured in Bangladesh.

Most pants these days arrive at least one size larger than they are labeled. Thus, I normally wear size 34 pants, even though my waist actually measures 35 inches. Thus, I was a bit surprised to find these so-called "relaxed fit" shorts fitting snugly even before washing, and more so after washing. By my tape measure, their post-washing waist is exactly 35 inches, so I can wear them, but more snugly than more of my other pants. My suggestion would be to order 1 size up from usual. As for quality and function, these shorts are great. The fabric is thick and durable, and well-sewn, with pockets everywhere (I counted 9), and in all needed sizes, plus four pockets have Velcro closures to keep stuff in.The zipper is YKK, and the mostly-cotton fabric has 2% Spandex for a bit of stretch. Though not labeled as permanent press, these shorts came out of the dryer with no obvious need for ironing. One size up, and they'd be perfect. As is, they are a good incentive to continue my Keto diet and lose another size.

All my other shorts are 36” waist and fit well, so I ordered these in size 36” as well. Nope, they were a full size too small! Or maybe I’m just getting fat? I returned them and reordered in size 38” and now they fit like my 36s. Otherwise, these are rugged shorts that I have been abusing around the ranch doing tractor work, bucking brush, lifting and moving logs (lots of bending, squatting and scraping) and they have held up well. The material is not lightweight but heavy enough to resist tearing but no so heavy as to be uncomfortable. Having the many sized pockets is very convenient and hold so many items that I have trouble keeping my pants up! I purchased the dark gray color fabric which hides oil, grease and dirt well so I can run the the hardware store without looking like a total slob. I like these work shorts so much I bought another pair.

I've owned a few Carthartt shirts and pants but never any shorts. Was curious to try these out and I actually really like them. They are just as tough as their other clothes, but are also comfortable and great for working on projects at home on the weekends when it's warmer out.Quality is what you'd expect - excellent. I've definitely been missing out on these over the years and plan to buy at least a couple more pairs as soon as possible now that I realize how well they fit me. It's winter time at the time of this review and I've been wearing them around the house all the time because I just really like how they feel. These are 98% cotton and have a bit of stretch in them, but they aren't really tight fitting.I do notice it when I sit down though.

these cargo shorts by Carhartt are the best cargo shorts I've tried. I've long been wearing a line of clothes from REI, some people say I look like I should be in their adverts. I wear clothes that are by Kuhl, Columbia, and REI private brand most of the time. These carhartt shorts are surprisingly good. I'm 6'1" and 175, and these fit me so perfectly that even my wife commented on them. They are very rugged and thick feeling, yet, the material is smooth, comfortable, and non-chafing. They have a variety of pockets and "technical" features too. These are a great length, providing adequate coverage without being too long.this is the first clothing I've owned from Carhartt, and I'll definitely be checking out their entire line.

Excellent heavy Duty Cargo Shorts, ordered a 34 waist size before reading the reviews which I normally do first. Figuring these were Carhartt's and should be an exact fit. Read the reviews and found they ran small in the waist, tried on the 34's and sure enough were small. sent them back, re ordered 36's and found to be a good fit. Although a good fit out of the package, i'm sure once washed they will shrink just a little being that their made of cotton 98% but after a few hours of wear they should stretch out some and become a great fitting pair of shorts. One last comment, Amazon returns are a breeze and easier that going through the hoops at the big box stores.Returned them one day received the new one's the next day.

Pockets, pockets all over. Front left and right have standard pockets plus cargo pockets with a Velcro style closure - that's 4 so far. The right side has TWO more narrow pockets, side by side, stacked on the other two. Ideal for cell phone and a multi-tool. That's six pockets. Then there's two on the rear, both with flaps. That's EIGHT pockets total. So, yea, cargo shorts! There is a LITTLE stretch in the waist - maybe 1/2 an inch. The shorts stretch around 10% - enough so that there's no binding or pinching when bending, squatting, etc. Makes them really comfortable.I have a 38/39 waist. The XL was a little small.

These are nicely made shorts. The fabric is very sturdy, but not too heavy. The shorts are advertised as "relaxed fit", but I think it is closer to a standard American fit than really relaxed. They are comfortable on my muscular legs and the slightly flexy fabric gives me a lot of freedom of movement as I move around. The hand pockets are nice and deep, plus you get 2 big cargo pockets and 2 open tool pockets (only on the right side). My only complaint is that these are pricey for casual shorts. Maybe that's OK if you wear them frequently for work.

Carhartt Men's 11" Rugged Flex Rigby Cargo Shorts are really well made and comfortable. When I first got them I was thinking that they were too rugged to be comfortable, but after washing and drying them they feel really comfortable and fit well. These are much better quality than other cargo shorts I have. These are meant for outdoor activity or more than just sitting on a chair. Price might seem high until you get them and realize that they are well worth the money as they quality is there. Good product.

I need to wear cargo shorts for my job, but I've been looking for some that have a straighter profile. These are not as slim-fitting as the Amazon photo appears. But Carhartt is quality, and these are well-made shorts. I like the stretch fabric and the exterior pockets on the cargo pockets. At the end of the day, though, I wonder if I'd would have done just as well spending about $15 less and getting either Amazon Essentials cargo shorts or the Wrangler shorts that Wal-Mart carries.

I am used to other lightweight fabrics or jean shorts. These feel like they are of quality made fabrics and stitching.Although a little on the heavy side, I like the pockets and the side "tech" pocket that easily fits my Note 9.The velcro tabs on the back side do not line up anymore. Its not a big deal for me as i like to have easy access to my wallet but for some that like to keep their belongings more secure it could be an issue.

My husband loves Carhartt products. I bought these as a gift for him. They are very durable and fit great. Overall, carhartt's products are amazing quality. I had to return the 11" for the 10" but this is still a great product.TIP- Be sure to pay attention to the length. The picture is misleading because I originally bought my 5'9" husband the 11" based off the pictures.... those are too long. The 10" is right around his knee.

I tend to go through shorts like NASCAR racers go through tires. But these things hold up. I'm 6'2" and 260lbs. I wear a size 40 in most pants, and a 40 here fits very comfortably. The right thigh cargo pockets are great for holding a knife and the zipper pocket on the left thigh is excellent for keeping extra items secure on a hike. I've purchased 2 pairs over the last couple years, and I'll definitely be buying more of these.

These are nice shorts that feel very well made. They huge pockets on the sides, which is what I was looking for. As some of the other reviews have suggested, order a larger size than what you normally wear. I ordered my normal waist size, and they were too tight. I exchanged them for the next size up and they fit perfectly. It says that they run true to size, but that wasn't the case for me. I'll be ordering a 2nd pair.

24.6.2020

They provide quality with functionality and durability. Pricier than some but will outlast competitors under hard use. There sizes are consistent and reliable. For the most part they are quite comfortable considering many of the clothes are more for work than style. The selection of styles and fits like most brands these days verges on confusion with the too many choices.
