For the 7 of you still reading, Gloom and Lovecraft are a match made in ...................... somehow heaven does not seem appropriate.I would actually recommend that people who don't know the game use this as a starter rather than the real game.there is no real need to have read any Lovecraft to play the game, but a knowledge of the mythos will help with some of the references.If you don't know Lovecraft, or dislike his stories, original Gloom may suit you better

it comes with some great addons to the gloom cthulu series:- you can now play in 5 players- it adds 3 new characters that move along when a certain type of card/action is performed.- it adds some cards that you can add to your family for certain bonuses when you have a certain amount of icon type cards in your family- also new events/modifiers

This is an addition to the original card game Gloom and has plenty of fun characters and traits to add more scares and tactics to the game.
