I make cosplays for conventions and this stuff works wonders for things like horns or smaller pieces of decoration like belt buckles and sword hilt because its far lighter than normal clay.As long as you don't leave it out of a airtight container it should keep for at least a month, I keep mine in the original box wrapped in the foil it came in and its lasted me well over 2 years with on and off use.Its kinda doughy when you take it out of the packets and if you want you can make a model and painted it immediately but if you want it to be less squishy then drying time varies depending on how thick your model is, if its thin it should be fully dry in at least a day, however if its thicker it takes longer because the inside of the model is still soft, for example one of my horn sets takes about 3 days to set properly.Once painted and varnished this stuff is ALMOST completely solid, it will still retain some flex to it, again depending on the thickness of whatever your making.Note: Try not to drop things that aren't stable, this stuff doesn't break into lots of pieces thanks to it being spongey but unstable sections will tear off instead making it difficult for clean repairs, I've dropped my main horn set about 3 times and there are very obvious break marks on them

What can I say, we love this stuff. Pretty easy to use. Looks good when coloured with felt pens though most types fade. We've found that sharpies (if you want to risk permanent marker in your child's hands) work best for keeping colour. Good for making 'food items' for dolls. Our playmo have a lovely vegetable and fruit market now. ' Great for making things to bring homework to life i.e. she made a baby dinosaur breaking out of its shell and we've made sea animals as part of her KS1 work. The end product doesn't last long (and it smells a bit strange) but it's great fun for getting them into modelling quickly. Once dried it feels like polystyrene and is as fragile but its lightness means you can have fun making a mobile.Already on our 2nd box.

So as an expert slimer, I reccomend this product for butter slime very much. Unfortunately I can't comment on modelling as I haven't used it for that reason. When you first recieve the clay, it may be very hard. To soften I used some hair gel (not all hair gels work) and it eventually got a lot softer. You'll want it to be super soft for when you add it to slime. Next, get slime and underactivate it a lot. Add clay very slowly. At the end if it's still hard, add lotion or hand cream. Don't add too much because it will make it greasy.I recommend white because you can colour it whatever colour you want later. This is the cheapest model magic I've found.

This product is fantastic. It so light to use, it kind of feels like marshmellow, but it's not sticky and won't come off on yours hands. There is no smell, which is a bonus, and this pack contains so much modelling clay it will keep them occupied for hours and hours. Now, let's talk delivery time- it takes forever to get it, so order early, and by early I'd say give yourself at least three to four weeks for delivery before the date you need it.Having said that I can not recommend this product enough. Absolutely fantastic and so easy to use.

The product won't survive once opened, and there are only four packets within the bucket, so -- make the models fairly large and allow an hour or so to use the whole of one packet in a sitting.Other than that proviso -- it's good. Pieces don't stick //that// well unless you work at it (I end up using PVA glue to stick things back together sometimes, once the clay has dried), but it's great fun and takes paint well.Good fun for me and my four-year-old - recommended.

I bought model magic as I was making a Weeping Angel Costume (From Dr Who) for New Years Eve, I rolled the model magic into worm shapes to make a hair effect wig, and let it dry then painted it all grey and used stone spray, it worked and looked so effective, easy to make shapes out of and very light weight too, great to paint, I had to use lots of Dry Clear Glue on parts where it cracked but it was ideal for what I wanted it for and would definetely recommend it.

We discovered Crayola Model Magic recently when my son was in hospital. They use it as it doesn't stick to bandages and can be painted straight away - good for children who are there for a short stay.It is lightweight and easy to manipulate. It sticks to itself and as soon as you finish shaping it you can paint it. Brilliant activity and my 5 year old loved it. It dries up if you leave it out, so guess you have to be careful to pack it away afterwards.

The best thing about this stuff is that kids can colour any colour they want. You simply spread a bit out and colour it with felt tip and then knead the colour in. Not bright enough - add more colour. Too bright, add more model magic. It's easy to use, to fix mistakes etc - it give the children complete control over their project from start to finish and with no fiddly steps, it means they have be spontanteous in their creativity. Magic stuff!

My 10 year old daughter was looking to do some modelling of animals. I spent some time trying out different modelling clays, some crumbled & cracked. Finally settled on Crayola model magic. Seems to work really well for her. Easy to mould, twist etc. does not dry out too soon. Reasonably flexible every after drying. The only comment I would make is the finished models are very lightweight, feels like the material is same weight as foam.

This stuff is fantastic! I used it for a Year 3/4 class at school. we made model teeth. It is really pliable and sticks to itself when 'wet' so no need for messy glueing, really handy! Make a mistake? Just rip it off and mould it back in. Really great for 'one-off' projects, but can't be reused when dried. Definitely intend to use this product again.

amazing clay for butter slime ! came with 4 HUGE 8oz packets of clay chunks and lasted me months ! Makes slime very spreadable and sizzly and thick, better than daiso and lasts much longer ! My only complaint is after a few days, your slime starts to get a smell with the model magic so i'd reccommend some scent too!

i have used this in the past with young children and it is a wonderful modelling media. I purchased this to use within a nursing home with residents with dementia, because it is so veratile. I plan to make decorative tiles with it, and simple figures. It is clean and non messy so will be good for them to work with.

Goods arrived sooner than expected which was a bonus. Product is true to description and am more than happy with it. Only issue is that it seems to be taking substantially longer than the 48 hours to dry!!

Very good mouldable material. My class of Y1 and Y2 children used it to make igloos, polar bears etc, with no help. We were able to photograph them then reuse the material. good for fine motor skills.

Wife and daughter love it. If you are into cosplay this stuff makes great horns and the like, very light weight. Also making a kilo more than we had thought. Good value. And it's clean, so no mess.
