I first bought this from Amazon in Jun 2010 for ][. Now it is [], so I thought this is a cheap way to upgrade to 8GB. On installing beside the original memory in the 3rd and 4th slots on my MB (MSI 790FX GD70), the PC would not boot up. I swapped them round and everything seemed to work OK, the pc recognizing the full 8GB etc. However, I have since been plagued by random BSOD and reboots which I can only attribute to this memory kit. The part numbers were also different from the kit from 7 months ago. I did do a memtest boot disk check, and it did 4 passes overnight without failing. However, the reboots still recur. I will do some more digging on the part numbers and timings, but beware - you get what you pay for.OK, I've now taken the RAM out and it has "Version 3.1" on the sticker, whereas the same item bought in Jun 2010 had "Version 7". BIOS settings are the same with one exception - the TRFC is different. Although they are all 9-9-9-24, there is a difference in the TRFC timings. The Version 3.1 chips have this at 160ns (107) and the version 7 are 110ns (74). Corsair recommend that you don't mix versions. Separately, the RAM works OK - no BSOD for the past week with the newer 4GB set, whereas before it was almost daily with the mixed 8GB. However, together they are incompatible. If you are purchasing to upgrade an existing system, replace all the RAM together so that it matches.Still Ok after 2 weeks with no BSOD or memtest or Prime95 errors. Good RAM but just won't play well with other versions.

Bought this ram 4 weeks ago to sit alongside the DHX version I already have installed, it is the exact same memory but has a different heat spreader (I checked with corsair before ordering). This memory has a aluminium spreader with no fins. Been using the DHX memory with the fins for 2 years now and had no problems at all, no blue screens of death, lost data or anything. Running on a ASUS M4A78T-E motherboard. This memory runs in Dual channel, so is to be installed in matching pairs. Also if upgrading to or past 4gb of memory check that windows is 64bit, if its 32bit the maximum that version can work with is upto 4gb, you could have 8gb installed but would only work with 4gb. That is for Windows 7,for vista and XP I think its even less, you need a 64bit operating system. Go to control panel, system and will tell you there.Done the video showing the box, memory and fitting to motherboard. To Install-Disconnect computer and all leadsWear an anti-static wrist band (I always do)Remove side panel of case and lay down case on solid surfacepush back tabs on memory slotsInsert memory until it clicks in and when the tabs can be clipped upPut computer back together again

I was a little concerned to read 1.7v in the specification, but took a chance and they are actually marked 1.5v, so no need to worry about voltages for the Intel processors. Installed on a Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 board with Intel i3 530 processor and runs perfectly. The DHX fins are a bit OTT for me, maybe they are useful if you are planning to overclock your memory to within an inch of its life. In fact, be aware that in a micro case, the height of the fins may affect the use of your drive bays. In my build, it affected 3 of my 4 3.5" bays and I would have preferred not to have the fins at all - the reason why I have deducted a star. The price fluctuates wildly. When Amazon has stock,I couldn't find 4GB of DD3 memory anywhere for less (<70). Marketplace vendors are asking considerably more.

I've never upgraded memory on any of my computers so this is a first for me. I knew I had to get the "right match" as far as specs are concerned. But there seemed to be so many ancillary numbers. So, I merely matched the type of memory, which for my machine is DDR3 1333 MHz. I received the product in a very timely manner, after which, I installed the memory. I was skeptical at first whether I made the right decision on the memory and also about how easy it would be to install it. But, it turned out to be the exact type of memory I needed and it was very easy to install. I now have 8 gigs of this memory in my computer. After installing I turned on my computer and successfully went through the POST and everything thereafter was like clockwork..

WELL IT'S TIME TO oc THE HOLE RIG FOR NEW GAMES. ALMOST 3 YEARS AND I DONT NEED ANY HARDWARE UPGRATE AT ALL :)FROM 1333 IT'S AT I THINK EITHER 1720 OR 1780 AND VERY STABLE. THIS PROOVES IF U BUILT UR OWN GAMING RIG AND CHOOSE CHEAP BUT GOOD STUFF IT WILL LOOK GREAT AND LAST FOR A WHILE. AND AT THE END U CAN OC IT TO THE MAX RIGHT BEFORE U CAN GET A NEW PC FOR THE NEWER GAMES. i'M THINKING EVEN GOING CLOSER TO 2000 BUT THEY NEED TO MAKE A GAME THAT MY RIG WONT PULL PROPER.ANYWAY THIS IS A GOOD INVESTMENT FOR THE TIME. I'M SURE WHEN TIME CALLS FOR I'LL GET THE SAME NAMEBRAND RAM.. NO QUESTIONS ASKED@!!!THANK U CORSAIR :-0) THANK U THANK U THANK U.

I purchased these about 2 yrs ago and i use my PC heavily with gaming downloading and converting and these have given me no issues i heard a lot of reviews about how these were bad went against them and purchased this product anyways and let me tell you just beacuase people get DOA (Dead On Arrival) ram doesn't mean its the companies fault or that they are bad quality he its electronic it happens i will be purchasing another kit soon due to the fact most games require to run soo much ram to work so quit thinking about it and order these they are something you will not regret and i used to be a kingston fan not after using corsair

Just got this in this afternoon and have already installed it. I have two of these kits in my home built rig. Combine them with a fast 6 core amd chip and the system is great. I initially bought two of these from another vendor and one of the sets had problems and kept causing the machine to lock up and reboot at random times. This set seems to work great. No hangups so far. With the 6 core AMD processor and high speed 1.5 Gb ATI Video card, the system rocks. 7.9 (out of 7.9 available) points for CPU and RAM and VIDEO. Only thing bringing it down is slow hard drives. Guess they're gonna have to go next. LOL

These modules run fine on an ASUS M4A87TD motherboard, and Sisoft Sandra (an information and diagnostic utility) rates them at 1.34 GHz (667 MHz x 2, Double Data Rate). Those reviewers complaining they don't work should bear in mind that they need to be properly installed for dual channel operation (the motherboard slots are color coded, an identical pair goes in the blue slots for instance - you can find this information in your motherboard manual). The Amazon packaging was minimal (only a cardboard envelope, no padding whatsoever), but this isn't Corsair's fault so they still get 5 stars.

I have been using this RAM in my new build computer for a while now and have experience to problems. They are brilliant; fast, excellent quality and really cheap. I hope to purchase two more of these RAM stick so that I may have GB of RAM, however just with the GB it is still lightning quick, programs load almost instantly and I have experienced no lag what soever, this is a world apart from my previous computer. I'd recommend this product to anyone (who needs them for a computer that is) whether they need a serious gaming computer or just a fast office computer, this RAM wont let you down!

Bought this memory 2 years ago now for the computer Im on now, Cost alot more aswell £130! Has been spot on thru out that time, no freezing, blue screen of deaths or anything. At the time because of the voltage at 1.5v, dual channel and being the new DDR3 they were aimed towards the AMD AM3 market, intel were moving towards triple channel. Thats how they were advertised at the time, I have a ASUS M4A78T-E motherboard with AMD Phenom III 955. There are a few different variants of this memory with different heat spreaders and cheaper, I have just bought this

I bought these to add to the 2 x 4GB sticks I already had in my desktop PC taking my total to 12GB.Clock speed is 1333mhz so not the fastest but definitely more reliable. I have been running the original 8GB set up for over a year with not a single problem during heavy daily use.Heres an answer to a question that I couldn't find when I was searching... You can use 2x4GB sticks and 2x2GB sticks together to make 12GB as long as the speed and timing are the same and your motherboard supports dual channel.Good memory for a nice price.

I have always liked Corsair products and bought two of these for my son's new PC for Christmas 2010. He started experiencing blue screens and random crashes. Eventually we determined the cause to be one of the DIMMS (and narrowed down to which pair). I am currently waiting to receive the replacement (expected in a couple of days). Once I have the memory replaced, I'll update this review.OVerall, I have always been pleased with the Corsair memory products and would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade or build a new system.

I built a new gaming system. The 1st set of this memory had an intermittent problem..... After getting system up and running with Windows 7 HP it would at times go into blue screen and do a memory dump and reboot and restore. After determining that one of the memory modules was flaky. I used the return/replacement section on Amazon. They shipped a new set FedEx and it arrived in 2 days [I'm in Alaska]. New set is up and running for past week. Returned the defective set via UPS to Amazon with pre-printed labels from web site.

Arrived on time when Amazon said they would arrive. The RAM was very easy to install, just slotted them in and turned on the PC and away we went. It really was that simple. I have two sets which means I am running on 8GB and I have had no problems running these at all. I am running Windows 7 ultimate, and again I have had no conflicts at all.The board I am using is Crosshair IV Formula, so rest assured that they work fine with that board and I have a AMD hex-core and again no problems or conflicts.
