Sooo I wanted to give these tires a month or more of "testing" before I reviewed..and I have to say man, IM IMPRESSED for once!Firstly, let me just say that 650-sized tires are becoming more of a nightmare for me to find..but I love my old Trek HiLo carbon tribike and I fly to work everyday through Center City Philly on these tires....rain or shine. I've had ZERO flats with these on so far, which isn't necessarily a testament to the tire as it is to the tubes...but these tires at 120psi+ are rock hard and bulletproof in my opinion...and as a folding tire are very easy to get on by hand. They have taken everything that I can throw at them every day, they have a very controllable "skid" to them...as anyone riding knows a lot of city braking is skidding and redirecting whether or not youre on a fixie. The moral: I love these tires, they are well worth the money, they run at super high pressure and have yet to pop on the hardest sharpest pot holes and construction cuts, I wish they made them in other colors...or they offered me a free pair for being one of the only 650B riders left in the US haha...all things considered HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for daily commutes, races, and even cyclocross! For video testimony..you can catch me on my daily ride at BEME @theCheerioKid CHECK IT!

My bike came with these originally when I had it built. They wear well & fit between my brakes (700 x 20, no release lever on my brakes). Twice now I have gotten partial thickness gouges in the sidewall on my rear wheel. Probably from hitting decent sized rocks with sharp edges or those embedded road reflectors with the metal base. I found them when cleaning & inspecting the bike, not due to a flat. I am sure that most other tires would have sliced right through and left me stuck. The wear is acceptable & they have those little holes as wear indicators (there is a "TWI" mark). There is also a "direction of rotation" with an arrow.I marked these on mine with silver Sharpie because you can't see it when mounting it back on the rim since it is molded in and all black on black. All in all these wear well, ride well, and hold up well. After my recent gouge, Amazon was the best price ($50 vs $67 everywhere else). This is still a ridiculous amount for a bike tire and you can buy cheap car tires for the same amount, but when you need one, you need one.

I'll leave the long reviews to those who excel at that, and since my time is limited, I'll keep it short and sweet. I ride long, hard, and fast. I started looking for a tire that wasn't cheap (you get what you pay for), but also didn't require a bank loan. I ordered the Continental Grand Prix 4000's and went to work replacing my worn out tires. Put these bad boys on, pumped 'em up to 150 psi and took off on a 40 mile ride. Now after about 200 miles, and pumping them to 155 psi (160 is max), I'm giving them 5 stars. I like the road grip, but smooth ride. Notice I said smooth, not soft. You are going to get the some arm & butt vibrations on rough road spot 'cause these are 700x20's. If you want soft, then you should go to 23's or higher. Time will tell about the durability, but since I've been getting about 2000+ miles from previous tires, these will probably go beyond that. I believe in first impressions and stand by the 5 stars. And with that, time to go ride.

This is the first set of tires I have put on the road bike after the OEM tires. I got the ones with the black chili.I've had them for a few months now, and put a few hundred miles on them. So far, they are doing well. They give me a smoother ride than the original tires. They are also quieter, and the black with yellow labeling looks good on my bike.I did have one flat, but it was not an issue with the tire at all (the tube failed at the valve stem, so nothing to do with the tire.)I mostly ride on the road with them, but there are a few parts of my normal route that are dirt with some gravels. Also, some of the road is potholed. Fortunately so far, this has not affected the tires.

Picked up the 25mm tire to serve as an all around tire. I ride everything crushed gravel trails, crappy country roads, smooth city streets and chip sealed roads. This tire and size is perfect for each. When on the rode, I do not notice any problem with speed, like I would when riding on cross tires. They do stick well to the roads, as the tire claims. Also works well on the bad roads and trails. I have about 750 miles on them without any issues thus far.An added benefit is the wear. these tires last. One of the better tires I've ridden during my 20 years of cycling.

These tyres are great and currently are the pinnacle of continentals venture into bike tyres from the combination of technology used and it really does work. I personally went with the 20mm tyre which doesn't have much of a side wall so there's no issue of it getting damaged as some have mentioned. The tyre has basically converted my front wheel into a blade too which handles amazingly considering the contact area with the ground. As for puncture protection I have yet to get one and have cycled about 1000 miles

I ride a lot of centuries over the course of the year and have always used Continetal 25mm Ultra Gatorskins, until now. On a recommendation from a friend I bought a set and I'm glad I did. Not only do these carve corners but there is a noticeable difference in the rolling resistance of these tires. I also like the idea of knowing there's an indicator of how bad the tire is wearing. Some say there are issues with the sidewalls. but for me I don't see anything. Anyways, I'm sold on these tires.

I bought these to upgrade the stock tires that came with my Supersix (Swalbe Luganos I think). The ride quality after changing was night and day. The ride is smoother, cornering is tighter, and even braking is better. The tires are nice and supple. I highly recommend these. One other thing, from what I've read the GP4000 with black chili is the same tire as the GP4000s, they just have different graphics.

In as much as there's many a cheaper tire to be had, I expected the Grand Prix to be a pret-tay, pret-tay decent tire. Though I'm only about 500 miles into these, they seem to have lived up to those expectations. I ride around 25 miles home from work, and I really want/need to have a lot of confidence in my tires -- these puppies give me that confidence.

I have used this tire for over 10 years now and never had a complaint, they will last in excess of 2,000 miles and are good in slick conditions as well. I have raced in this tire under touch conditions that other tires have failed at. I also rarely get flats (knock on wood) usually only when the tire is near the end of its life with the worn down rubber.

Have used Continental 4000 tires on my bikes for many years. Flats are rare and mileage high with these tires.I ride recumbent bikes which makes changing a rear tire a bit more difficult than on a diamond frame so I appreciate the puncture resistance of these tires. I get 3500 - 4000 miles before they are worn enough to consider replacing them.

Believe these are of high quality and will serve well as other Conti tires I have purchased in past. I have only mounted these on rims so far inflating with new tubes. Like that these are folding tires but were somewhat hard to get on rims, had to use tire jack tool - without this tool may never have go onto rims...

Bought these for my grandfathers bike he loves them and specifically likes this make and model he trusts them and likes that they wear very slowly. He used them for two years straight until he ran over glass and they tore a little so it was time to replace them. Very high quality tire definite buy

Still have this on my front since 2016. Have 2000+ on it easy- no issues.BUT I put "Gatorskins" on my back a few years ago...was having puncture issues not related to wear with the Continental. Took a star for that. Gatorskins are bullet proof so far.***********Pricey but good. 2016

Already had one of these tires and bought my second because the first performed so well. They grip well and I have yet to get a flat on either tire (knock on wood.) For supported long rides (100+ miles at a time) I highly recommend these for their speediness and reliability.
