Contrary to other reviews, the description states the following:--------------------------------------Please note: You are purchasing a code to download the 17 games. You will only receive a card with the code to download Command and Conquer: The Ultimate Edition. You will not receive a disc.--------------------------------------When I bought this from Amazon, I knew what I was getting.I agree with the review that states that the games are supposed to work on Windows 7, but as was also pointed out, not all do. I am using Windows 8 64 bit and the games that I have played so far work, here's a list:--------------------------------------Command & ConquerCommand & Conquer The Covert Operations:Total Size: 1.1 GB--------------------------------------Command & Conquer Red AlertCommand & Conquer Red Alert Counterstrike: Total Size: 2.1 GBCommand & Conquer Red Alert The Aftermath--------------------------------------Command & Conquer Red Alert 2: Total Size: 1.9 GBCommand & Conquer Red Alert Yuri's Revenge--------------------------------------Command & Conquer Renegade: Total Size: 1.4 GB--------------------------------------Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun and Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun Firestorm (Total Size: 1.7 GB) don't work on Windows 7 64 bit or Windows 8 64 bit. The only solution that I have found is to play these 2 games using a Windows XP SP3 32 bit virtual machine. I have deducted 1 star for this. Using this approach, these 2 games work perfectly. The games are quite large and do take time to download but fortunately Origin (the program used to download and launch these games) has a built-in download manager that resumes if the connection is lost. So no matter how slow your connection is, you will eventually download them. For assistance with these games I would very highly recommend the Official Command and Conquer Forums ( commandandconquer.com/forums/ ) for assistance. There are many dedicated fans willing to help you. We have not yet found a solution to Tiberian Sun / Tiberian Sun Firestorm not working on Windows 7 64 bit or later but the vast majority of other issues have been resolved/worked-around.The issue with Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun and Tiberian Sun Firestorm is that the game installs and can be launched as normal but clicking on any of the menu options e.g. to start a new game, a new skirmish, online play or to load an existing game resulting in nothing happening. It is as if you never clicked the option (the game doesn't crash for me). There a number of workarounds listed on the forums but none have yet worked for other members or me.I would also recommend the 1.06c Revision 3 Patch from Nyerguds for Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer The Covert Operations since it fixes some crash bugs and provides a higher resolution that makes these 2 game far easier to play. Nyerguds is a member of the forums mentioned above and is extremely helpful with any issues concerning this patch. I have not experienced any issues using his patch (just don't allow Origin to update this pair of games after installing the patch since the auto-update will undo the improvements of this patch). My advice is to set the games to download and leave them to do so. I downloaded all of the above games in about 5 hours (the download rate varied from 800 Kbps to 1 Mbps). I will download the rest one by one so as not to use up my monthly download allowance (download cap). The largest games are:--------------------------------------Command & Conquer Generals: Total Size: 3.0 GBCommand & Conquer Generals Zero Hour--------------------------------------Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Total Size: 15.1 GBCommand & Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising--------------------------------------Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars: Total Size: 11.1 GBCommand & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath--------------------------------------Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight: Total Size: 5.9 GB--------------------------------------They can each range from 6 to 11 GB in size; I have not downloaded them yet for this reason. In total the games come to approximately 43 GB (not bad for 17 games). One final point is about the Additional Content, which varies by region, since I live in Europe, for me this contains:--------------------------------------Wallpapers from some of the games (Red Alert 3 and Command and Conquer Tiberian Wars and Kane's Wrath).Video trailers of the upcoming Command and Conquer powered by Frostbite and another game, Tiberian Alliances.--------------------------------------If you live outside the US, this is what you will get. The music and commemorative art are not part of this package from Amazon. You can buy the music from the Ultimate Collection separately from Amazon as MP3 files. For the first list of 8 games above, all worked perfectly on Windows 8 64 bit without any tweaking or changes required. Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer The Covert Operations also worked perfectly on Windows 8, 64 bit but I did install the community patch mentioned above to increase the resolution of the game. This means you can see more of the game on the screen and do not need to scroll as much. The game was created in 1995 when 640x480 was all a screen could display so it's not a fault with the game, screen resolutions have simply increased over the years. The patch works with Windows 8 64 bit without any issues (but do remember to turn off CnCDraw using the patches configuration panel (CCConfig.exe, contained in the installation folder for these 2 games).Overall I am very pleased with this collection. I did play each game as it became available over the years i.e. from 1995 onwards but it has been a long time since I have played them so am I re-living many happy memories. I would have preferred to receive many DVDs or 1, dual layer Blu Ray disc (50 GB) with all of the games on it but the download method isn't too bad.EA / Victory Games may provide patches in the future to eliminate the small issues that I have encountered (I have now worked around them) but this is not guaranteed. My advice is to buy this collection, 17 games for £22.17 since it is excellent value. If you encounter any issues, the Command and Conquer forum members (including myself) are happy to help.-------------------Update: January 2015: The Command and Conquer forums that I mentioned in my review have been re-designed with none of the previous content available. You can also asking any questions that you may have on either of the following forums:http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.phphttp://forums.cncnz.com/forum/115-the-ultimate-collection-the-first-decade/-------------------Thank you.-------------------The specification of the computer I have been using to play these games is as follows:Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.4 GHz16 GB DDR 3 Dual Channel RAMEVGA Geforce GTX 580 SC (x2 in SLI mode)(Nvidia 306.97 WHQL Driver)Windows 8 Pro, 64 bit-------------------Updated July 2014:Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.4 GHz16 GB DDR 3 Dual Channel RAM1x EVGA Geforce GTX Titan (836 Mhz Base, 876 Mhz Boost)(Nvidia 334.89 WHQL Driver)Windows 8.1 Pro, 64 bit with Update 1-------------------Update 13th July 2014:I can now confirm that all of the following games also work on Windows 8.1 (with Update 1) in addition to those listed above for Windows 8.0:Command & Conquer Red Alert 3Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising--------------------------------------Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium WarsCommand & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath--------------------------------------Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian TwilightNo changes were necessary to have any of these games working perfectly. Tiberian Sun and Generals/Generals Zero Hour do not work on Windows 8.0 or Windows 8.1 for me (even when using the suggested workarounds). I play these in a Windows XP SP3 virtual machine (not connected to the internet) using VMware Workstation 10.0.3 instead.Enabling Windows XP compatibility mode to resolve this has been suggested by commenters to this review (many thanks for your suggestions, they are always welcome :) ). For me this did not work but if it works for you, I'm very pleased and it's an easier alternative to using a virtual machine. From what I can tell the success of compatibility settings can vary from computer to computer, for example more than 1 source (which includes EA Support) suggest enabling Vista compatibility mode to enable Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight to work on Windows 8.0 (or newer). However for me, this was not necessary to have it working perfectly on Windows 8.1 (with Update 1), while others stated it resolved their compatibility issues (I am unsure why this varies from person to person).I hope the above update is useful, thank you.

As for the overall package JimboC has given an extensive review which i can't think of anything to add to.As for the actual sale it all went smoothly and was delivered on time.My gripes are with Orign/EA itself.I have had a couple of issues in regard to my registered email address, the most important one being sent a newsletter by them even though i chose not to receive the newsletter or for them to pass on my email to other parties on sign up, i also double checked my account settings on receiving the newsletter and both options were unticked so i should not have received the newsletter.Trying to stop the newsletter and contact customer support has been a bit of a nightmare, first of all there is an option with the newsletter email to click a link and stop receiving the newsletter which i did only to be told there were no subscriptions for that email address...as there shouldn't be as i asked not to receive the newsletter! So i then set about trying to contact customer support about that issue and a couple of other minor niggles. I followed their help page guide to contacting customer service, searched for multiple guides to contacting customer service and they all state there should be a 'contact us' button on the help page but it was nowhere to be seen. Eventually i stumbled on a page which said options available may depend on country of residence, the game involved or the time of day.So i changed my country of residence to United States and immediately the contact us button appeared and i got through to a nice representative who seems to have helped me with all my issues.Apparently the only way to contact Origin/EA at all is through the contact us button so if you do not live in the US and have an issue you have to lie about your country of residence to get customer service. This is the only reason i give this product 4 stars instead of 5 because otherwise everything else about the sale/purchase/experience has been excellent.

One day I was browsing on-line at various products which may interest me and then I saw it "Command and Conquer" the complete set. I swear I blanked out for 15 minutes just staring at the screen in surprise and shock. When I came too I went ahead and bought he product without hesitation. I selected the First class option of delivery so That I could bring pain and destruction apon my enemy's as soon as possible. For those of you out there who have never played this game I can only describe it as orgasmic. My particular favourites are "Red Alert" and "Generals". The rush you feel as your army grow to such numbers that even Gods fist can not stop you.To feel the exhilaration as a squad of planes fly over as you listen to "Danger Zone" from top gun (music not included in game. And the best feeling of all is when you commit genocide with the click of the mouse. That experience is the best I scream to the heavens and laugh with my arms out stretched screaming to the Gods to try and challenge me.Sometimes I role play whilst in game. I dress as a Soviet general. Hat, Boots, Medals and even side arm. You can get all this costume on Amazon. However I hit a problem when I ordered. The game was late. By a week. I have never felt my heart sink so much. Not because I didn't have the game but because I could not bring pain apon the ones lesser than myself. Who would send an army of terror drones at a tank squadron? Who would shoot down the American air force with RPGs? Who would bring misery on the innocent. I complained and got the game re sent to me free. was a little annoying having to wait. Oh well. Anyway the reason I am giving it 5 stars is not only because it is an excellent series but because I see my self as a 5 star general and wouldn't think any less of myself.DANGER ZONE!

A huge fan of the franchise back in the day, I bought every game up until generals. Some of my discs had become damaged over the years so, refreshing my collection and adding the later ones I missed out on to less than a tenner was a total no brainer!Works well on Windows 10 if you take a few precautions.Seeing a few folk complaining that some games don't work with WIN 10I'm running WIN 10 64bit on an i3 with 4gb ram and on-board graphics.Disable screensaver and screen power off options.C&C, Tiberium sun and red alert 1, max screen res 800x600, when turning off game, you may have to log off computer and log back on as it doesn't close down properly.Ra2 and generals, max screen res 1024x768Don't alt+tab or let your screen turn off for any reason or the game will crash. The origin cloud save and origin checkneeds to be disabled also.Ra3, C&C 3 and 4 work without any issues.Still loving it, have played through them all and have gone back to yuris revenge again (best in the series imho, and a decent storyline)Did anyone else find ra3 to be really pervy?

I understood perfectly well that I was buying a code that I could use to download all these games from EA.I however was not told that I would have to download them via "Origin", an application that has to be downloaded and installed onto your computer before you can download and install the games you PAID for.You may think this isn't a big deal, just download what you want and get rid of it, but oh no, you can't PLAY the games you PAID for without Origins permission. Even though you have all the files you need to run it. not connected to the internet? cant play the games you PAID for, not got Origin on your computer ? nope you cant play the games you PAID for. This is not made clear to you at any stage, until you have the code in your hands and go to the EA website. Also on a side note, you can have the code delivered to you for £10, but for it to be emailed that's £25. erm. really ?Anyway great value !! for some good games. well worth the money. But be aware, Origin holds all the keys to games and if you don't play by its ridiculous rules, you cant play.

All been said really, I was having problems getting into my games, people bought from were most helpful and in the end it turned out that the download of Origin that you must do first had not loaded correctly, once this was sorted out all worked fine. I had most of these on disk but they were old and not reliable and in the end one shattered in my CD drive, I tend to play them for a while then again perhaps 6 months later so this is ideal for me as do not need to look for disks and so on, service seems reliable and for the price it is a good deal, I have done quite a few upgrades on my machine recently so lost the games downloaded at least 3 times, however after resigning in I was able to download them again without any queries as to why I needed to so, consider it a good service, in all if you enjoy strategy war games you cant go wrong with buying this, even if only 2 or 3 suit you it still works out a cheap way of playing them, much cheaper and I think safer than buying the original disks.

Looks like great value, but as of my third session trying, I still haven't managed to get them to work. So far I've been trying to run Generals. On the first attempt it wouldn't run at all. Now I can run the game but not move any units. I'll revise this review if I can get any of them working, but in the mean time if it takes more than two or three more sessions of trying, I'll have to go back to playstation games to ease my nerves.*** Hot off the press! ***It works now! Hurrah!Messed around with some mouse settings on my computer and it works now. Great fun times lie ahead, as I'll be spending many an evening ordering around GLA workers and Technical Trucks."Everybody Out!""...can I have some shoes?"Would be five stars, but teething problems and installation issues were a bit of a headache. For seasoned PC gamers, who haven't let their minds be softened by consoles (like mine has), this will present little reason to not rate this as a five star purchase.

Nothing more simple pay the vendor and received the code via email installed and signed up to EA origins and redeem the code. It will confirm the game purchase in my case command & conquer the ultimate collection you then need to install the games you wish to play (recommend you download the additional content pack this looks like the came cover and is only 100+ MB) this contains information for running the games abit like the decade edition had to be ran through its dashboard. When installing individual titles it will prompt you to install Microsoft dll files and visual files to run the game please do. People on Windows 10 like myself it is just a Windows 7 in a shell and should have no issues running the games if you do you haven't installed the required dll files. This product is quality and cheaper than game or hmv there selling at £10 for the same download code. Overall this is a simple purchase for a cheap quality product.Read full review...

The first ever game I played was the very first Command and Conquer when I was around 6 years old and to this day, I love no other series of games more. The earlier games sometime are a pain because the scroll speed is just too quick which makes the game sometimes unplayable.all but the last game (command and Conquer 4) is a must have for any fan of RTS games and if you haven't played any of these and you are a fan of RTS, then there are severe problems.Command and Conquer 4 is really the only problem with this series which is a real shame saying the series went out on such a low note. They tried to completely change the concept of the game for the last ever one which I have no idea how anyonewould think that is a good idea and they have failed miserably in trying to go out with a bang.Apart from this, there are 16 other immense games here to get lost in and you will keep coming back to them time and time again for more thrills

I received the product in good order. Within the package, I expected CD's but was surprised to see a small 'credit-card-sized' plastic card. It has a serial number on it which you need to log in with on a special webpage. This allows you to download the product.Unfortunately, you need to log in EVERY time you use it and it won't always log in. The result is that you start playing and then, all of a sudden, all of your men die. Another problem is the graphics- not all the graphics can be seen. I'm lucky in that I've played this game for years and know my way around the site.If there's anyone reading this that can help me overcome my problems, I'd appreciate it.

I bought the download code for windows 7 compatible gaming, for a friend who loved the original C&C but was unable to play it using his current laptop. Please note, that to download the game you have to create an account with ORIGIN, which is no hassle and you could even do it using bogus names in case you do not want to share your information, the whole process was simple, even for someone with little computer knowledge and even less with regards gaming [is that the correct term ? lol].The price available is an absolute steal for the amount of games included in the pack, and will take you back to days of old with regards the games. enjoy.

If this works on your system, then it is worth 5 stars; there are clearly some issues with some PC setups.Such good games in their day, and still great to those who remember them fondly. Modern day gamers might scratch their heads, but you should look at the Command and Conquer franchise like a classic car - a beauty in its own right. There are some playing changes - you have to use right click to move or attack in The Generals/Zero hour, but you get used to it.Tiberium Sun does not appear to work - crashes if you try to save.If you loved the originals, but haven't got a PC to play them on, then buy this - a bargain!

I bought this because I wanted to play Red alert 3 - my personal fav of all the C&C games. All the instructions are supplied on the card in the CD case (that doesn't come with a CD/DVD so that threw me for a second). The download went ok; was a bit slow and installed Origin software ok. Selected C&C Red Alert 3 and that was then downloaded and installed. Once done, started the game and have been playing pretty much none stop ever since. Didn't have to change any compatibility settings or even reboot. Just works. I'm running latest version Windows 10, 64 bit and game runs great.

8.4.2017

While I enjoy graphically impressive, fast moving games like, say, Battlefield 4 or Dying Light, I find myself always going back to play games from the Command and Conquer series. Some of these titles such as Red Alert 2 and Tiberium Sun date back almost twenty years. For me this is the mark of a truly great game. It's not about frames per second or how fast your rig needs to be to play it, It's about gameplay. Now this download code provides an updated (windows 10 friendly) version of all of these games for a really low price. It's a no brainer.

4.11.2012

As someone who has played C&C since the age of 5, I was really excited to see this deal. The games work fine on Windows 7 (occasional minor graphical glitches on the '95 games, but these are fixed by a quick exit game / restart), although there is no extended resolution or anything - the games come as they originally did. With all these amazing games, this package contains hundreds of hours of amazing gameplay, a must-own for stratagy and C&C fans alike!- As for Origin - the games downloaded and installed no problem, don't be put off by it.
