With my new Celestron 925, CGX mount and my dew heater running, my previous Celestron 7 amp-hr Powertank was overwhelmed. I barely got in 4 hours in best conditions, and only if I limited slewing and heater use--even so I was often running it into the yellow. With the Powertank 17, I have yet to run out of green power even at -25C after 6 hours (test conditions recently provided courtesy of our Canadian winters)! And it charges much faster as well despite the much larger capacity, after a long night it is fully charged by the time I crawl out of bed next morning. Full warning though it is heavy, I have to remember that when I pick it up or set it down.Most recommended, you won't regret it.

I purchased this from Amazon.de (Germany) Because it was 40 euro cheaper at the time.The Celestron power tank is a great piece of kit. Not only will it power your telescope with out any problem. It has torch. (just in case you drop something)It saves buying packs of batteries, It will last several days without recharging.I use this with a Celestron nexstar 8se. With The AA batteries you need Eight, I tried rechargeable batteries, But they didn't last long. Long life batteries you might get them to last one night.

Bought this for my boyfriend for Xmas after he moaned and whined for months .... He was all excited and opened it and tested it for about 20 mins .... Since then he hasn't touched it so I don't know about performance .... Hopefully he will make up for it during the summer and use it for his telescope he bought 2 years ago (but has used twice ..... ) .... If he doesn't do you sell socks ? As this is all he will be getting next Xmas ! :)

I've heard mixed reviews about these tanks particularly in reference to the build quality. Thought I would take the plunge so that I could judge for myself. Extremely impressed with this power tank powers my Nexstar 8se with ease, great extras like the white and red LEDs, siren & radio. Additional sockets to power dew heaters, mobile's and tablets. Well done Celestron very impressive product.
