i bought this lens after accidentally destroying my 40x lens , i nearly bought an entire new microscope after seeing how expensive new lenses can be.i worried if i was going to receive poor quality, but i'm delighted. its excellent quality, needs a little practise if you've not used higher than 40x before. but i'm so pleased i want to recommend it as great value quality viewing lens. its also suitable for oil. i have an apex practitioner scope and it fits perfectly. its great for biological /cellular imaging...and my digital eyepiece takes good pictures with it, nice extra detail that i was looking for.now i want the 100x and a new 40x.... hope they sell these too. jo challis

This objective is excellent. Very little chromatic aberration and for a very high non-oil objective the images are remarkable. I have added an image of some fungi spores taken with just this objective projected onto a webcam. Some spore structure can clearly be seen The spores are about 10 x 6µm.

This is a high quality replacement or extra lens for your microscope! It fits my Apex Researcher perfectly and I have replaced my 100x Oil Immersion lens with this which I find to be much more practical for day to day use. Just unscrew the old one and screw this in, done!
