This is an anachromatic doublet, much better quality than most closeup lenses, which are a single element. Using it on a Panasonic 45 - 150 zoom lens (micro 4/3) the FoV at 150mm and closest focusing is 24mm (long edge) and about 70mm at 45mm. For the occasional closeup work much more convenient (and cheaper) than a macro lens and gives good results. There is a 2 diopre version which will have a smaller magnification. Another alternative is to use extension rings, which also give good results. Whereas extension rings are dedicated to a particular camera range, a closeup lens has to match the lens's filter size.
