I've found you still do get a slight element of the "X" while filming when your bordering between fully closed and open, because unfortunately there isn't a stop point for maximum and minimum so you are able to keep spinning the filter round, so as long as you're going more off the look you're wanting and the readings from your Camera you should be fine and able to gauge what's necessary for the shot so you can work around that issue (it's only a tiny issue but something I would've liked to have had). There isn't any thread on the filter for a lens cap which is a little bit of a nuisance, but other than these minor workarounds, this is a great piece of kit for the price highly recommend it.

Fanastic variable ND filter. I watched tonnes of reviews and videos to see what variable ND was the best to get. This won in almost every test I won. Great fit onto my lenses, nice smooth turning motion and most important, it blocks out the sun!Very little is any vignetting at high NDs, worth the price. I also have a 52mm lens ring and I bought a step-up/down to make it fit that one as well.

Excellent for photo and video well built quality item scale is min to max light to dark. Used on tokina wide angled lens some viable crossing at max at but knew this would occur. Using step down rings from 77mm to 58 mm for nikon lenses. No problems on nikon lenses 35 mm 50 mm and 200 mm with crossing . Able to stop down in bright sunlight and achieve better depth of field .

With my 16-35 it works fine however do not expect to get highest stop on 16mm end.Overall I would recommend as the quality of Tiffen's filters is good, this is my second VND from Tiffen after 82mm (I am using them both parallel on two cameras, if not I would have just used step up rings)

Awesome. Previously I had used built-in ND filters in camcorders and I was missing the solution in my mirrorless Sony A7S2 camera. Now it is a totally new world when shooting in bright sunshine. Irreplaceable. The accessory every videographer using a camera should buy.

Fits the camera lens thread well. Easy to attach and remove. It covers a good range of filter stops, which is ideal for most shooting requirements.
