After discovering the port on my HP 1100a was a micro-Centronics rather than a full size one I went in search of an appropriate USB adapter. Full size to micro Centronics adapters were very expensive and USB to micro not only very expensive but known problems with getting the drivers working in Windows 10.It then occurred to me I already had the DB25 (25 pin D plug) cable going to the printer and found this USB to DB25 adapter instead. Autodetected on Win 7 and 10, and two Linux machines. If you've got a parallel port printer (and a DB25 cable running to it) you need to use with a modern computer this is the adapter you're looking for, and usually £20 cheaper than the alternatives.
