I ordered this on a Friday evening and it was delivered on the following Tuesday, as usual Amazon delivered quickly, indeed i love that about Amazon.I needed this for a Panasonic SD-600 camcorder, i tried to find a 46mm version but could only see it available in 49mm size, thus i bought a stepup 46mm to 49mm adaptor, that worked like a charm and i was able to place this B+W circular polarizing filter on to that, the reason i bought this particular brand is because i can add a lens cap to this one, anyway it looks like quality glass to me and the build quality seems impressive, the packaging was just right and it works like a charm. You can use this at night to reduce flares from streetlights or shoot through glass without reflections as well as into water should you wish to shoot fish,it adds a real nice blue look to the sky and brings out the clouds, another use i have used it for is timelapse photography, i shot a clock which has a glass front and the timelapse effect is great, but the point is that without the filter i got reflections off the glass of the clock, with the filter i can really get a much better shot, i do recommend this for camcorders and normal still photography cameras.I only knock 1 star off because although i consider it an excellent product it is not cheap and i have researched these products and there are some ( albeit ) considerably higher priced products that can do a slightly better job, this is the most i can afford to pay though thus 4 stars for a very good product.:EDIT: I note the price is now higher than what i paid, when i bought it the product was selling for around £80.

I have read a lot about different high-quality filters and after owning a fantastic & fairly pricey Hoya HD CIR-PL filter I decided to invest a bit more if needed to get the best. The main features of this filter are brass frame, very high quality, nano-coated and completely sealed (kaeseman) polarising film and its very narrow profile. Brass frame in theory makes it much easier to mount and unmount the filter from the lens, since most of the lens filter threads are made of aluminium. It works really well indeed with my wide angle Canon L lens, but it did get stuck on my Sigma lens, so I would suggest anyone to mount the filters very gently none-the-less.The polarising film it-self is wonderful - it is just as bright as my Hoya HD filter, polarises light just as good (tested on how well it can blacken the LCD screen), but with a light pleasant warmness in the colour, the coating prevents it from dispersing direct sunlight even at most flare-prone angles and makes it very easy to clean and the fact that it is fully sealed means it will last for years without danger of mould. Finally, the narrow profile does make it harder to get a good grasp of the filter, but also means that any corner vignetting is as minimal as possible, which makes this filter work well even on wide-angle lenses.Overall - highly recommended if you want to get arguably the highest quality filter around!

The image quality is excellent. I bought this for my Fuji X100T and it's much better than I'd expected, even at a relatively high price. However, the front ring did become loose somehow and although it didn't seem to affect the image quality I returned it to the vendor to have it repaired or replaced. This happened just AFTER 12 months with relatively light use. Foto Kiesewetter (the seller) accepted the return, even after such a length of time, sent it to B + W who sent me a replacement almost immediately. So, although I'm VERY happy with this filter, this review is largely for Foto Kiesewetter (I'm unable to leave a seller review as they expire 90 days after purchase) & B+W who did what most sellers /manufacturers would consider outside of their remit - my hat goes off to them; service like this is a rare thing these days, highly recommended filter, vendor and manufacturer.

A recent lens rental review of polarisers put them all very similar, except for transmission as some have a greater degree of light loss than others (and ND) effect. I can certainly say this is indeed high transmission - it’s easy to see even on paper. The polariser effect is also good for saturation and applies the effect evenly. However, it’s branded as thin and suitable for wide angles, but it still has an issue. It is indeed thin, but it has a frame that is larger into the diameter of the filter that makes the aperture narrower, so it still causes vignetting. In fact, it’s just as bad as the B+W filter it was bought to replace, that wasn’t the ‘thin’ variety.Your mileage may vary, but the 77mm filter at 24mm on my Sony 24-105 G OSS makes the corners go black on a full frame body. I returned it and got a refund. I’m still looking for an alternative.

I am quite used to B+W XS-Pro filters yet I was surprised when I saw how slim this polariser is. Despite its thinness it remains easy to operate, turning the ring is a piece of cake thanks to its nicely knurled outer edge. The highest f-stop loss I measured while comparing shots with and without was about 1.7 stops which is also very good and close to its advertised 1-1.5 stops and especially when compared to the average 3 stops difference you get with regular CPL filters. And naturally, I think it does a very good job on guess what, polarising light. The filter itself is the usual Schneider Kreuznach quality which sets a very high standard in my opinion.Yes it is quite expensive but you get what you pay for.

Having mulled over whether to spend the extra on this filter, I'm glad I spent the extra. The filter arrived within 3 working days without issue. Having now had the filter for 3 weeks and used it on holiday I can say the results have been excellent.Beautifully vivid blues in direct sunlight and the filter, as previously mentioned ,was near impossible to smear despite my clumsy fingers!I was concerned about the lens cap issues that have been quoted. I can say I had no issues attaching the filter to my Canon 10-22 and 17-40 lenses and that my lens caps attached quite securely.Overall, you can't beat the B&W quality and the reassurance that goes with it.Recommend you treat yourself. 5 stars.

Thin enough to stack (with another ultraslim filter) on an UWA lens without vignetting. I use it on the canon 16-40 f4L IS, stacked with the BW slim protector filter and no vignetting at all. Neutral colour renditionDIT_ after using it a few times I have gone back to the thicker (still doesn't vignette) version from B+W as this one always sticks and takes me absolutely ages to get off. It ends up being easier and actually faster to take the UV filter off , put this one on and reverse that process when done than to stack this and try to remove it -even though I never screw it tightly

As I have several canon L lenses I wanted a decent quality polariser. In my mind Hoya are still a good filter manufacturer, just the CPL filters didn't seem up to par according to reviews. I only invested in the 77mm B+W CPL, I use step up filters for my 67mm lenses so I have only need for 1 large CPL to keep costs low. I am very happy with the filter and use it regularily. Four stars given as I feel that the price seems steep, but then again some say this is one of the best and you get what you pay for. Perhaps over time if this holds true I would upgrade to a 5 star.

The polarizer is excellent, removes reflections much better than any other I have seen, adds a rich dark tone to photos and brings up the highlights like clouds, blue skies in an astounding manner and clarity. It has made a huge difference to my pictures in terms of making the sky blue and showing up the clouds etc. Also reduces the f stop by ~1 which is excellent. Build and quality are superb. Although expensive you get whay you pay for as it is impossible to get this image quality with other cheaper filters (even if you photoshop them)

The polarising works like a dream. My problem is that it has such a low profile my fat fingers tend to hit the glass when I'm trying to turn it. Also, because it is so low profile it is almost impossible to turn with a lens hood on. You have to press your finger hard against the thin front rim and push towards the lens to get friction/traction, and then try to slide it around sideways. Very awkward. But great glass and does the job.

By now I use B+W filters and polarisers exclusively. Top quality glass and coatings that last seemingly forever. After several years of use, numerous cleanings (I recommend Zeiss wet lens wipes by far), being exposed to water, dust and sand all my B+W filters look like new, while I had to bin some slightly cheaper filters from other manufacturers already as they developed blemishes and scratches.

The new Xs-pro mount is about 1/3 thinner than the old f-pro mount. Making it an excellent choice for ultra wide angle lenses. This high transmission version of the circular polarising filter allows approximately half as much more light through as the older f-pro version. Easing the possibility of hand holding the shot while still gaining the full polarising effect.

The quality is exactly as described by other reviewers. The difference between Polarizer/no Polarizer is like day and night. Some people have described the occasional problem of unscrewing the Polarizer from the lens. I have not yet encountered that problem but I am carrying a rubber glove in my camera bag now just in case the Polarizer does become stuck.

Very well made filter with a very smooth action. I haven't been able to thoroughly check the polarising action yet as the weather has been too dull but it seemed to enhance the predominantly grey sky. Doesn't cause any noticeable vignetting on my 35mm lens, but this is the widest lens I have for this filter size.

I have an expensive 77mm by Singh Ray.I decided to get this one, because many of my Zeiss lenses have a 67mm filter thread.I have to say, I was really impressed by this. You look through it and it feels as if there is no glass. Now I have to find money for the 82mm version :)Highly recommended.
