Got these to replace a dropped pair of those $20 pocket binoculars. I mainly use them for backyard birding, so I needed a close focus and not too much magnification. These Bushnells are quite a leap from the old cheapies. Brighter, clearer and easier to focus. I did not realize the value of this model until I scored a free pair of Kenko 8x32 waterproof bino's on Amazon Vine. I'm reluctant to report that my eyes can barely see the difference despite the price. Bushnells $35 vs. the Kenkos @ $232. The Kenkos are certainly a fine piece of workmanship, but I just can't see the value in them. The main difference to me is the ease of finding the sweet spot for centering my eyes on the eyecups. The 8x32's are a bit brighter in challenging light, but in most situations, you may never see the difference. These Bushnells are a rather amazing bit of work for the price. Buy without hesitation.

I purchased these binoculars for an animal viewing trip to Africa. I have other binoculars but they are the large, heavy, night viewing variety and I wanted something light and portable. I did not want to pay a high price and I decided on these after reading a number of favorable reviews. I was not disappointed. The view was clear and sharp. They were every bit as good as my wife's 8X25 Nikon model which was much more expensive. I have only one minor complaint, the right independent focusing eyepiece seemed to lose its focus rather easily resulting in the necessity for a refocus. It might have been due to me continuously shoving them in and out of their case. Overall,I would rate them excellent and would recommend them to anyone wishing to purchase a high quality binocular at a reasonable price.

We tried several pairs of small binocs in this range, including Olympus and Pentax models, and liked the Bushnells the best. They focus easily with one hand and have a clear image. 8x is perfect for birding because it offers a wide field of view but also sufficient magnification. Brightness doesn't compare with larger optics but very good for 25mm. Rubberized all over, so they seem pretty durable. I have to fold them almost completely to fit me, so if your eyes are very close together, they may not work for you. Not sure how well they'd work with glasses. These can't compare with bigger, costlier binocs, but I rate these 5 stars on the basis of their combination of convenient size and weight, image quality, and value.

I wear glasses. These work with or without glasses. Have not tested at sporting events or concerts. Are light weight and easy to carry, fits in pocket so should work at concerts. Used during hiking and the power was just about right. Higher power harder to hold steady, these were easy to hold steady. Fit in pocket. Eye cups need to be turned down with glasses, then work just fine. Diopter setting will move, so remember your setting, even in neutral. Very clear and sharp. Seem to be well made. Note: Had to work a bit to get the eye cups to stay folded down with use with glasses, just the rubber was new and preferred the usual eye cup position.

Excellent quality and price. I have some old Swift Audubon 10x50 glasses which I love, but they can't focus up close. The Bushnell will focus sharply to 6' as advertised, and now I can get looks at the birds right out my windows. And their compact nature is another plus. I will take them to the next opera or in a pocket or on my belt the next hike. These days I often have my camera around my neck because it won't easily fit in my pocket. The Bushnell will be quick to grab if needed. It comes with lens caps, lens cloth, strap and carrying case w/ belt loop. And basic instructions, of course.

bought this to keep in my truck and also to carry with me on hiking and hunting trips. Obviously, the optics won't keep up with a pair of binos that several hundred dollars, but for my purposes, it should do just fine. The optics are surprisingly clear and easy to focus.Cons:Not waterproofDoesn't have Bushnell rainguard (works great in my rifle scope, but it also costs ten times more than these binos)No lens caps for objective lensCheapo lens covers for eyepiecesFor the price though, you get more than you pay for with these.

The inflexible eyecups don't work for those of us who wear glasses. Optics seemed very good from a quick trial, but we returned. Customer service said to return them, sd the eyecups are not meant to be flexible. I did try the method mentioned in another review to "train" the eyecups to stay down (soften with hair dryer, restrain with rubber bands or vise). Eyecup ended up looking smushed and still were not fully out of the way-it's difficult to really restrain that small a rubber piece to stay fully in position.

This well made and easy to use pair of binoculars made vacationing with our 4, 7 and 8 year old grandchildren so much more fun. Each child got more out of looking at the wildlife. The binoculars are light weight and easily focused. The children were so excited when they received them and used them often on each day of our 13 day trip through Rocky Mt. National Park, the Black Hills area and the Badlands. We are considering getting a pair for ourselves as our pair is quite a bit heavier. Well worth every cent.

These sit on the back windowsill for birdwatching most of the time. Good for relatively close objects - a shorter focal length than most binocs. Good for close-up watching in our yard, outside the window. The minimum focus distance appears to be about as advertised. Just be sure your intended objects are no closer. Like all compact size, they are a bit harder on the eyes than a full size pair, but the trade-off for small footprint & light weight is worth it. Just what you need for occasional use.

I have owned several pairs of larger and more expensive binocs, however, these definately hold their own against them all. I needed a smaller pair for when I wanted the near-performance of a larger pair, but not the bulk. The last compact pair I owned were 10 X 25 that did not feel as good on the eyes and in the hands. I prefer these because they are clearer and less "telescope-ish", giving a noticeably wider field of view. I highly recommend these unless you have big hands with fat fingers! :)

What a great deal. Just thrilled by this purchase. Crystal clear. Im a big fella and the eye cups are not to small. Very glad I picked this pair, considering buying another. Super compact! Great carrying case. Best binocs ive ever owned. You could enjoy bird watching of distances up to a 100 yards. Only draw back that isnt even remotely big enough to take a star off for is there is no tripod screw hole just in case you wanted that option, which i do, but oh well! So worth the money!

Bought these simply to go in our weekend hike backpack. I wanted something so-so in price/quality but not to great that if they got a bit mussed up being in an external pocket of a hike bag I would mind. They are a bit better than I planned for so I guess I will have to keep them in their case and in an interior pocket of the pack. Really, they are great for the money...better than expected.. and quite sharp. The super close focusing is really nice too. I would buy them again.

I have 4 pair of binoculars for various uses including astronomy. I needed a quick and compact solution for my wife to use for backyard birdwatching and light stargazing. These binocs are small, light, and perfect. I purchased this pair for her but I have the exact same pair on my truck for my use. For the cost, these provide a view that is very clear and comparable to more expensive models. We pack these for vacation to the mountains also and are great for wildlife watching.

This is simply a great pair of portable binoculars. I have owned many Bushnell binoculars over the years and, pound for pound, Bushnell binoculars are among the best value binoculars in the world. The image produced by these binoculars is crystal clear and the right optic adjuster does not have to be readjusted when focusing at different distances, making this portable beauty a pleasure to take on trips where there just isn't enough room for the larger instruments.

I bought these to keep in the car for emergency wildlife sightings. They're a great size to fit in the holder on the back seat of my SUV; quick to grab, lightweight and adjust easily. The case is good enough, and so is the strap. They've already helped me confirm that, yes indeed, that was a trumpeter swan. They are so convenient to use I may take them when I go out west to visit friends. A helpful pair of binoculars at a good price.
