I was in the market for binoculars primarily because I wanted to go stargazing. I wanted something with a 50mm objective lens because research has told me that a large objective lens allows more light.I chose this product due to the overall great reviews on this product, as well as the price. I can comfortably say that I do not regret buying this binocular, because they really are great. They feel very durable. The box it comes in is rather thin and flimsy, but it includes a neck strap and a carrying case, which is very convenient.Moving on to the actual performance. I am very impressed with the binoculars. The image quality is very clear, and the insta-focus works well.It took a while for me to learn how to use it because I have never used any device with a focusing mechanism before, but it was very easy. You simply move the lever on the middle of the binocular to adjust. Moving it to the left allows you to focus on further objects, and moving it to the right allows you to focus on closer objects. That being said though, I'm a little concerned about the long-term durability of the insta-focus mechanism. Every time I push the lever to the left, I hear a flimsy crunching sound, similar to the sound of the exoskeleton of a bug being crushed. In addition, it seems easier to push the lever to the left than it is to push it to the right. I am wondering if this will affect the binocular in the long term, but since the included paperwork states that the binocular has a lifetime defect-free warranty, I don't think I will be returning these anytime soon.Another problem that I have with this binocular is a problem that other reviewers have wrote about, which are the lens caps. You get two large lens caps for the objective lens and they fit fine and stay on. However, the smaller lens caps for the eyepieces are a bit too loose and therefore fall off very easily. But all things considered, I am satisfied with these. The lens caps are no big deal; chances are you will not want to spend a few moments taking off the lens caps before using the binocular if you want to see something quickly so you might even leave the lens caps at home. While the insta-focus does not sound pleasant, it works very well. I was able to focus on stars at night. And of course, always remember the price of this: $31 USD. This is a fraction of the price of other binoculars, but actually gets the job done rather well.

Wanted something to take on vacation to Europe - river cruise and wanted to see castles and such off in distance. The binoculars are very simple to use and provide good viewing from moving boat on a stable image off at a distance. Extremely simple toggle system let me get right on the best focus. Just press down with either left or right fingers. I found it much easier than the ring type focus mechanism. They are quite light as well compared with some more professional/pricey binoculars I have tried. It seems they were about a pound with case and lens covers. The case is a soft material and I would be careful packing them with anything that might damage the binoculars. The case gives some protection from damage and has straps, so I carried them in the case at times around neck. There are also straps for the binoculars. I would not carry them for long around neck as I'd worry about damage. The case closes with a single velcro fastener and anything small could easily fall out and get lost. This is probably the only downside on this buy. I am looking for some additional velcro I can attach to the case. There are four lens covers and they do the job, but would fall off easy were you carrying the binoculars around neck or otherwise not attending close. I only use the covers when the glasses are inside case. I suspect these covers will get lost easy, especially as the soft sided case does not zip.I don't know the material used for these glasses and was shocked at the price for the quality. Clearly, these are not the high quality glasses a professional may want. But, for travel, hunting or backpacking, or such use once in a while, these do a great job.

I bought these binoculars for my trip to Costa Rica in March. For my Ecology course, I would be doing observational research on the local avifauna (birds). Since I would be doing a good amount of birdwatching I needed a pair of binoculars. After seeing the expensive price tags of in store models, I searched Amazon. I wanted a small pair that I could use to see large distances away. Bushnell Falcon 7x35 provided that and more.Pros:1) These binoculars are tough! I took them hiking through the mountains, up and down streams, and through thick forests and jungles. They are still in perfect condition.2) The instant focus feature is great! With the slightest touch of a knob I could focus on the far away bell bird and then to the close by viper in seconds!3)These binoculars work great! I could see far away creatures with ease. I even was able to take a few pictures through them with my phone camera. This really helped with identifying the birds if they moved out of sight or flew away.Cons:1) They were a little heavier than I expected. When I received it, I thought it would be hand sized and lighter. However, they weren't all that heavy. If I could carry them around my neck for 15 hours everyday, you should be fine.2) Watch out for the neck straps! Sometimes they would slide off of the binoculars and a fall could damage them or you could lose them.In conclusion, these are one of my favorite Amazon purchases. You will love them.

I bought mine "used - like new" for $28.24. The binoculars seemed a little "off" when I received them. I received everything as I was told I would and the packaging was fine. It did appear "like new" and there were no scratches on the lenses. However, the big parts of the binoculars were misaligned. I could not see well out of them or get them in focus at all. I thought maybe it was my vision. Upon re-examining the product, I realized that the binocular parts were not "screwed" in correctly and they were quite crooked. I work on unscrewing them and trying to screw them in correctly and then it worked better. There is a "shaky" factor and it is hard to focus in on things. Even with a steady hand, things still "shake" a little. But for the price, it seems pretty reasonable. It does enlarge subjects, but not in extreme detail. I could read signs from distances. It is rather large to put into a backpack comfortably. There are these covers that go over each lens (a total of 4 = 2 small and 2 bigger), but they come off easily and I am not sure whether I would even use them realistically. I guess it would be good for storing, but you wouldn't be able to have this hanging around your neck with these covers on. There is a fair amount of light that goes in and I did enjoy looking through these binoculars. I tried to look at stars at night and it was okay. I would buy these again if the price is right.

I bought a pair of these on sale (from my "gold box" -- 10x50 is supposed to be the ideal for stargazing. I figured that this might come at the price of some chromatic distortion (tolerable) or difficulty focusing (intolerable). Last night was a "clear" night here in the South Bay. I live about a mile inland, on the coastal edge of Los Angeles' vast light pollution. No marine layer, and I quickly pulled the full moon into focus, then adjusted the other eye-piece. They work for me, but if my eyes get much worse ... I'll have to pass them on to somebody younger.Enough of the moon, already. I wanna see something I don't see on a regular basis. A quick scan of Orion showed some nebulosity visible, even above city lights. They feel steady. I'm looking forward to more star time.I didn't notice any chromatic aberation. I have only three minor complaints:1) No tripod socket for making sure that kids can see what you want them too see. No socket was promised ... so this is not a really fair complaint.2) Lens caps are cheap and tend to fall off. Watch out for them. It wouldn't have cost that much more to manufacture better lens caps--Bushnell ought to fix this one.3) I would have designed the adjustable lens with a broader range of diopters for those of us who don't quite see as well as we used to.All in all, a great pear of binocs for searching the night sky.

I use these to coach a rowing team from land, so here are some good data points about visibility at various distances. The boat is about 60 feet long and has eight people rowing in it.- Within 50 meters binoculars are not necessary in daylight but in very low light (e.g. at night) they are quite helpful in making out details.- At 50-200 meters away I can see all eight rowers clearly and steadily without having to use the zoom at all. This is frankly the optimal distance for these binoculars. Great resolution here.- At 200-500 meters I can see them but need to use the zoom to make out any kind of detail about who is doing what.- At 500-700 meters I can see the boat but have to use full zoom to observe it and details are nearly impossible to make out.At full zoom like this you have to brace your hands (or use a tripod) in order to see details because the free hand just shakes too much to be useful.- Beyond 700 meters it's very difficult to make out any details, even at full zoom. The oar blades are about 2 square feet in area and are a very bright orange and they are difficult to spot at this distance. (For reference, when a boat is rowing toward you, the oar blade face is alternately showing and then hidden, so they basically make a bright orange flashing square for me, and I have a hard time identifying that they have started rowing.)

I bought these at the same time I bought Bushnell Engage 10x42 binocs. I was curious to see the difference in image quality, and these were so inexpensive I couldn't resist. The picture is remarkably clear and focusing is easy. You have to pay attention to see the difference in the image quality. Where the difference between them really stands out is when looking through them for a while (more than a minute or so.) While it's hard for me to pinpoint the specific difference (I seem to be able to discern the same details), my eyes are far more relaxed with less strain through the Engages than through these Falcons. But that's comparing $30 glasses to $170 glasses!Yes, you get more if you pay more. But you really have to pay attention to see the difference.Of course, these are bigger and bulkier than the Engages; don't fit into as nice a small package, not as nice a strap or other features that I like (like the ability to use the Engages with or without my glasses at the twist of the eyepieces to change the "relief".) Also, the Engages will work quite a bit better in rain or mist, with their hydrophobic coating (a bit like Rainex, causing the water to bead up into smaller drops.) The weight isn't too different between the two.For the typical casual viewer, these Falcon binocs will be really great, especially considering the price.

My dad always had Bushnell binoculars and scopes while I was growing up. It's a reputable brand that's been around a long time. These binoculars are very reasonably priced. I bought a pair to add to a holiday grab bag and there was some fighting over them. I was a little bit jealous I couldn't keep them for myself, so I finally ordered my own. My quarantine workspace overlooks the neighborhood, a busy street, a sports field, a lot of pedestrian traffic, etc., so I figured this was the perfect time to get some binoculars to spy on everything going on around me to distract from work. I don't believe these binoculars have a great range, but I can see things out to several hundred yards in close detail. In terms of adjusting the binoculars to the shape of your head and focusing, they are very intuitive to figure out. They do come with some minimal instructions in 83 languages. They also come with a neck strap and a surprisingly nice case (not a hard case or anything, but it gets the job done). They include lens covers. I feel like they're well worth the money for casual birding or spying on neighbors. If you need super-powerful binoculars, opt for another pair, but these are a great starter pair and would be ideal for gifts, possibly for children. A kid on a camping trip, for instance, would love these!

Unless you are a binoculars expert or have a very specialized need, I think these are very good binos for the price.I bought these and also bought a different company’s (more expensive) binos at the same time. After comparing them for two days, I wish I had bought two pairs of these!1. (+) They are sturdy and well-made.2. (+) They have excellent lens that are forgiving and have little or no “Kidney bean (eyepiece) blackout,” or eye relief issues of blackout occurring on the sides when using them.3. (+) They focus amazingly quickly with the instant-focus lever and refocus clearly at different ranges.4. (-) They are not light, and the four lens caps are “loose,” so one has to put them aside in a pocket or something.I have used binoculars on and off in the military for more than 20 years. These binoculars may not be as rugged as the milspecs, but they are very competitive, and do the job well --for a great price. The 7x35 is a great choice, too. I compared them to the different new pair, which are 8x 35. I actually liked the “wider” picture of the 7x35 better. They are easier on the eyes –no ill feelings or headaches after using them for whale watching on the seashore. If you want typical "casual use" binoculars for occassional outdoor activities, I can't imagine a better deal for the price!

I was a little wary of this product at first feeling that it might be a marketing ploy - ie. sticking a well-respected name on a less than wonderful low-end product. I already own a Bushnell spotting scope and while I love it - and while it does work very well on a tripod for example - I wanted a decent pair of general purpose binoculars giving me good close-focus distance as well as clear distance viewing. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on these but decided to try to find if decent optical quality on a budget product was possible. I also wanted binoculars which could withstand the general rough and tumble of life without the 'kid gloves' treatment expensive optics seem to foster. This product is first and foremost a true Bushnell.Optical quality is superb and the 'instant focusing' mechanism is clever, simple and easy to get used to. The strap and carrying bag are just about adequate and I may change these myself for something better. However the 'guts 'of the binoculars - the build quality and the optical quality is terrific. Focusing is silky smooth and accurate and the optics are Bushnell quality optics. For the price these are a steal. Ideal for bird-watching, general purpose use etc. A Best Buy in my opinion and well deserving of a five star rating. Highly recommended.

I had and old set of Binoculars that I was having problems focusing with (getting both eyes dialed in). It just wore out over time (spent more time focusing than viewing). I don't use Binoculars all that much but wanted to have a decent one for whenever I needed it. Didn't want to spend an awful lot of money being I wouldn't use them very much. Decided on these. Took it outside, looked around and was very pleased. This one, rather than having a focusing wheel like my other one, had a lever that you moved from one side to the other to focus. It was easy, felt good, I liked it. Did my adjustments easy to get both my eyes in sync with each other (since my vision in both eyes is different).I like these binoculars, they are better than my previous set that I had for years. This one comes with a soft case as opposed to a hard case my other one had. So this one I'm going to have to be a little more careful how I handle them and where I store them. Probably for the rugged dude who needs to manhandle stuff more, these probably wouldn't hold up. For the more casual guy though, these are going to be just fine. Has a strap on the soft case and another included strap for the binoculars themselves. Optics are good, my eyes are not complaining. 5 stars for the quality vs the price.

The specs are already listed. This is a user report. Some boats were harassing spinner dolphins and I needed enough binocular quality to see their names & license numbers....but don't have big bucks. This fits the bill. It's an improved version of the binoculars also by Bushnell I used on my sail boat. The construction is solid, the materials strong but light, the ocular adjustments brought the dolphins and boats into sharp focus in bright and in more overcast conditions.I have used these primarily standing on shore from about 200-400 yards from the dolphins (and boats) with excellent visual results. The visual reach is considerably farther, however. The binoculars come with a handy & light bag for carrying with a strap that goes over the shoulder, and the binoculars themselves have a neck strap. There's a detailed user guide.ANY ALERTS? No. This is a relatively inexpensive binocular. As stated in the product description, this not an ultra-lightweight, folding binocular you can fit in your pocket. It's a full-size binocular, with a widely useful 7x35 optic, sturdy, likely to have a LONG useful life, and for the kind of purposes I've sketched out, it works just fine and I can highly recommend it.

Bushnell does it again. These binoculars are incredible, especially at this price. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting the greatest, but being an optimist, I assumed Amazon.com wouldn't sell me something for $25 that seemed of $25 or lower value. The binoculars are not only what they say they are, but also of sturdy construction and quality with a tilt focus instead of the cheaper knobs you sometimes see. (This means you can change the focus without having to run your finger along a knob, shaking your view as it focuses.) It comes with a strap and a bag, too.The lens caps are a little loose on the eye pieces, but that's what the bag is for. Honestly, I intend to look through these more than I'll need eye piece caps anyway. The ones on the lens side are tight, though. In the way of extra notes, these do fog up if you get really, really sweaty, (was working out when these came in the mail) but I should hope I don't bird watching or star gazing, as these are ideal, especially with the 50mm lenses for extra light.Overall, I gave this unit 5 out of 5 because it far exceeds what you'd get out of $25 anywhere else and is more than suited for the tasks I have purchased them for. Good job again, Amazon.com!

Bought these to replace a pair of old boat binoculars I had dropped. Use them now, principally for bird and wildlife viewing so stepped up to the 10x50 ves the old 7x35. The binoculars themselves seem solidly made, and the optics are much better than the price would indicate. No - they aren't up to the higher end...But they don't cost $500-2000 either. These are full size heavy binoculars. The principal difference between these and the next level more expensive Bushnell's are higher quality lens coating, and anti-fog and waterproof sealing to prevent moisture. So those points, in combination with the weight, aren't probably what you want to slog around in the wilderness or wet environments with.To get them down to this price,Bushnell cheaped up on the case and carry strap. The case is cheap trash. If you intend to carry these anywhere I strongly recommend buying a better case to prevent damage of bangin into other things in transport .The strap supplied for the binoculars are also cheap trash. I solved this problem by scavenging an wide padded strap from an old SLR Camera. These `1" to 1 1/2" padded straps work wonders (your neck and shoulder will thank you!) and can be had for about $5 up.

Excellent! Amazed how far I can see with these, the detail seen at a distance of more than 2 1/2 football fields is stunning! That's as far as we measured but they go further. Love the good grippy feel too. They have some sort of rubberized coating. We had an older pair of same type which were heavier. The lightness is a nice change, strap was adequate though cheaper quality than our older pair. It included a cloth bag which is a bonus though not high quality, We will probably only use it for storage or packing, it didn't see tough quality. Very pleased with these binoculars and affordable price, good quality and exactly what we were looking for. Can see animals and birds at a distance too.Our yard is. Very long so they help to see what's around and watch ducklings on our pond too. Surprised they could see clearly past neighbor's yard too (no, we didn't get them for spying but we were curious how far they would focus). The top rocker bar for focusing is nice too and more intuitive rather than turning knobs. Hopefully we won't drop these on tile floor as we did our last pair! Ha. Reasonable price for great pair of binoculars. I recommend them, also for bird watching.
