I received a pair of these as a very unexpected present - unexpected because I have been collecting binoculars for several years and most of my family and friends would hesitate to buy me pair without a word or two.So what to make of them? Well (somewhat to my surprise maybe!) they're not at all bad. Most importantly the vision was good straight out of the box. There is plenty of light and the sharpness and clarity are more than adequate. There is a nice widish field of view however the close focus, whilst adequate for general use, is unlikely to be close enough for the dedicated birdwatcher.Middle distance viewing and star gazing are both very satisfactory.I'm not overwhelmed by the insta-focus mechanism. It works well enough and offers quick focussing. You can sharpen things up nicely with a bit of extra fiddling - but you do have fiddle a bit to get the sharpest image. I guess I'm old fashioned and just prefer the focus wheel - it's personal taste which may change with more use.A trip to my scales confirms them as very lightweight for 10x50s, (8 ounces lighter than Zeiss Jenoptem) and I found them most pleasant in the hand. The "armourplating" finish is functional if not aesthetically pleasing in my view but no money has been wasted on the neckstrap, caps and bag.10x50 is probably the best specification for the general user and there are many brands to choose from. I think you'd be pushed to do much better than these (unless you were lucky on the the secondhand market) and would say it's £50 well spent.

Ok, so we admit it: my girlfriend and I are total creepers. A few months ago, we moved into a new, 9th-floor downtown apartment with a fantastic view. We love our view and we are addicted to people watching. I bought these binoculars as an impulse buy, and quite frankly, they've doubled up our already ridiculous fascination with all of the people that can be seen from our windows. They're also a hit when we entertain, and we quickly discovered that almost everyone has an inner "panel van driver" after a few adult beverages. We've also taken to some bird watching in the surrounding trees as they're now visible and on one occasion I actually used them to identify a neighborhood trouble-makeracting aggressively towards an elderly woman and was able to get downstairs before he caused any more trouble. I wear glasses and they're easily adjustable enough for me to use without the glasses on.They're easy to hold in your hands, relatively light, quick to adjust and focus, and deliver exactly what I wanted: simple, no nonsense "zoom." They stay in our apartment, so portability wasn't an issue, as the strap and case they come with are obviously not where Bushnell spent the money. The only downside for us was the dust caps don't seem to be very well thought out part of the design and I'd like to see some innovation in this area.

I currently have a 10x50 binocular and was looking for something both smaller and more powerfull. In comercial binoculars, you really cannot get the "perfect" binocular for every situation. Size do matters and depends on what you want it for you will have to choose the right one. For me, my 10x50 was a little too big since I mostly use it in the outdoors, hiking, etc... And I felt that the 10x was really not that much, hence I was looking for something else. When I saw this 12x32, folding binoculars I just had to have them. The size is PERFECT for what I want them and the 12x is definitely an improvement. It's not a great difference vs the one I originally had, but it's an improvement. And the 32 factor helps a lot in the size. I have not taken them on a hiking trip yet but they perform just fine when I used them at home. The grip is good, comfortable to my size of hands. The binoculars come in a black nylon case, not water-proof of course, soft, but protects them all right. They do not come with lens rubber protectors so I guess that would be a "nice to have" items.Overall, I am happy with my purchase. Maybe in the future I will get the bushnell 16x32 but for now, this will do just fine.

Husband and I were invited to the opera at the last minute, next-day tickets. I had been wanting to get a pair of opera glasses, but time was tight, so I wasn't going to be able to go looking for a pair at a retail store. Amazon one-day shipping to the rescue. However, since it was already mid-afternoon, the options for receiving the item on the next day were limited. These were among them. They were also reasonably powerful (according to my photographer Husband's opinion of the numbers), and a great price. I placed the order online, and they arrived promptly the next day!I have to say that I totally love these binoculars. They are light, fold up small, and have a cloth sleeve that fits easily into any handbag I am carrying,so I don't have to leave them behind. They are also very clear and powerful. At the opera (Family Circle seats at the Met), I was able to read the French horn part all the way down in the orchestra pit. With these binoculars, a budget ticket will turn your place in the hall into a premium seat, where you can see every last nuance of facial expression and action.Great product, great service from Amazon!

I'm so happy I can perfectly see the wildlife in the open expanse out our back windows now! It's absolutely crystal clear, not too heavy, and I don't shake so much to make it prohibitive. All of the things I was worried about! My favorite thing off the bat is the tilted lever in the middle for changing focus. What a huge improvement on those familiar rotating wheels. It's also nice that it comes with a (soft-cover) case.We have a smaller Bushnell binoculars but they really won't do the job for long distances. In my limited binocular research, it's the first number which signifies the distance. So 20 is going to be much better for distance than the common 10 or 12.I don't think anyone would regret this purchase. These are fantastic! Happy birthday to me!ETA: I used this to go to a concert in a large auditorium downtown, and we sat in the very back row! I took these along and we had so much fun seeing the performers "up close." It worked absolutely perfectly for this use as well.

I purchased these binoculars as a birthday gift for my husband. We use binoculars to watch the wildlife in our backyard and pasture. We are both very pleased with the quality of these Bushnell PowerView 20x50 glasses. The view is very crisp and clear, and the 20x zoom far exceeds any other binoculars we have used. (We can count the points on the antlers of bucks half-way up the mountain.) The product has a nice, solid feel but is not too heavy. I really like the rubber coating -- it gives you a good solid grip. We have other Bushnell optic products which have performed well for over 30 years, and we expect the same result from these. The only issue we have is, for some reason,it is very obvious that we can't be still while using these glasses. The 'wiggling' is much more distracting than we ever noticed with the 10x binoculars. It probably has something to do with the extra magnification, but I suppose it could be just old age setting in. I would recommend these binoculars to others.

I recently enrolled in an Ornithology class and binoculars are required. I went out and bought a cheap $13 one. Sure it can zoom up just fine, but I kept thinking something was wrong. A lot of my classmates can see birds and their field marks so clearly while I often just see a blur edge. So I decided to cough up some money and buy this one due to all the good reviews. I was a little hesitant since some people says that it's very heavy. Well, I don't regret it at all. The quality is very good. I can see a lot of details on the birds. Even on cloudy/rainy days, I can see better using this binoculars than my old one. Also, regarding the weight, it's not really that heavy. It did give me wrist pains on the first day though, but after I get use to it and not let it hang on my neck for too long. I don't like the strap very much though, it can cuts into your neck. I usually wear it over my hoodie. So overall, good product, fast shipping and happy customer :]

I bought this pair of binoculars as a replacement and upgrade for what I had for the past twenty years. When I orderd it, I did know it would let me see more at much farther distances than what our previous pair allowed. But when I actually had the chance to compare them both side by side when it was delivered I was amazed at how much difference there was. I only now wish I had made the switch many years earlier.Well worth the price, very good close ups for sporting events, travel, recreational, and hunting activities. The quality is very good, and I have had no issues with the mechanism so far. The only short fall, and it is a minor one at that, is the strap. It could be of better quality and a little better thought out with its functionality. However with its carrying case, the strap is not that much of factor. I do rate it a good buy overall. If you buy it, you will like what you see with it.

This binoculars are very powerful. Unfortunately, this is also its downfall as holding these while trying to focus can be tricky. However, if you can somehow place this on a stand of some kind, something that is not prone to even subtle movements, then these binoculars will probably be the last you will ever need to buy. For activities like bird watching, deer hunting, or spying on your neighbors/kids, this unit should do the trick as you will probably be standing still or have very limited movements. However, you might want to look at a different pair if you plan on bringing these to a rock concert or sporting event where you might be moving around a little more.Comes with all the accessories you will ever need including carrying case and lens caps for all 4 exposed lens. Adjustable viewfinder should work for anybody. Solidly constructed. Overall, a great pair if you don't mind paying the price.

I was looking for a reliable pair of binoculars with at least 12x magnification, preferably with a camo pattern, that i could use for hunting. I'm nearsighted and the 12x gives me that little extra help. The Bushnell Powerview 12x25 binoculars matched my requirements and the price on Amazon Prime day was even better. I've used them to spot deer, birds, and small game, and just to check some distant objects. They've performed well in all situations including low-light. They have good, clear lens, are easy to calibrate (instructions included), focus quickly and sharply at different distances, and are compact and light. Based on some review,it looks like people didn't realize that you need to specify the magnification strength when buying and that will affect the price. I took my time, ordered the strength and finish that I wanted and I'm completely satisfied with the product.

Haven't bought binoculars before so researched a bit went for a value internet-only deal on 10 x 50. Couldn't find any high street stocking them - just web sales. They are quite heavy but that's because they're porro prisms - they have nice rubber grip. I think the main reason they were about half the price of other similar binoculars is because they're a little cheap and cheerful from an accessories point of view. The neck strap is a bit rubbish and the case is pretty flimsy. The binoculars themselves seem good so far. They do the job for what I wanted and managed to see some good things on a walk. They aren't waterproof or fog proof apparently, but I just carry a plastic bag around and if it starts to rain,I put them away. So not for sailing or camping holidays in the UK, but good for sunny birding or the view from a hill, which is what I wanted them for.

I primarily use binoculars for amateur astronomy. And, I am still quite new to the hobby-started in March 2010. I believe that these binoculars are great for beginners in skygazing. On an exceptionally clear night, and holding still, you can see Jupiter's moons. You'll definitely see Pleiades, Orion Nebula, Beehive Cluster, and Venus, to name a few.I have several pairs of binoculars (including Bushnell 10x50) and after reading an astronomy site, I noticed that Nikon 16x50 was mentioned an awful lot. I decided to give them a try, and I didn't really see a difference between the Nikons and Bushnell, so, the Nikons went back in less than 24 hours, and I traded them here at Amazon for the 20x50s.My strong advice to beginners is not to purchase a pair of high end binoculars at first, unless you have a dual purpose for them. Bushnell will pull through for you!

I love these and use them regularly for astronomy. They are sturdy, but not too heavy (They can make your arms tired if you are looking up for extended periods, but what doesn't?). The rubberish coating on the body gives a good grip and makes them durable. The optics are good, giving sharp images from edge to edge. There is a little bit of coma distortion but generally I don't notice it. These give about a 5degree field of view, which is great for looking at star clusters and nebulae, and I've seen several galaxies and other deep sky objects. The 10x power is enough to find Uranus and Neptune, too. The focus bar works nicely with good control for pretty fine adjustments. The lens caps are just a bit loose,so they pop off a little too easily. The strap that comes with is also crap, so get a nice wide camera strap, and you're good to go.

a great value. Very clear and incredible magnifications. Big and bulky. You'll see the shake in your hand. They are not sealed the best. I had these and got some condensation in them some how and opened them up to dry out. Friends uncle messed with it and chipped a lense. Bushnell does not make and will not sell ANY parts nor service these. You are done if you damage these. Buy another pair. I really reccomend buying these and another more durable and warranty or repairable set. I was upset that they would not bother to repair or sell parts. This kind of magnification is what you want sometimes. You can read aircraft numbers or street signs from a mile away. Great value and performance, but lacks repairabliity or longevitiy. Trying Celestron next

I've tried using professional-grade binoculars before, and I always struggle with the focus and then I keep losing things in the visual field because the field is narrow.I love these binoculars because they have a very wide visual field--once you view something, you can track it easily as it moves.I bought it for a beach vacation, so I could sit on the porch and watch the boats, hang gliders, and swimmers on the ocean. These binoculars were perfect for that. I imagine that they would be good for following any fast-moving object, such as at a ball game or for birding. The lens quality was excellent--far better than I expected for the price.I highly recommend these binoculars to anyone who's beenfrustrated by binoculars in the past.
