A word of warning before buying a bottle of Bulgari's Man Extreme spray - it smells quite different on the skin to on a tester card. I bought a bottle based primarily on a tester card spray, and I find that it doesn't smell as unique or quite as brilliant on my skin as it did in the shop.Now that's out of the way, on to the scent itself. The Bulgari website says that Man Extreme has top notes of pink grapefruit, bergamot and cactus, middle notes of white freesia, cardamom and amber, and base notes of vetiver (a type of grass), benzoin (resin from tree bark) and balsa wood. And there was me thinking balsa was just for model aeroplanes!As you can see from the ingredients,to call it a woody fragrance would be doing it a complete injustice, as many of its constituents are derived from trees. The woody hit goes right through, from the moment you first spray it on to the time you can barely detect it, completely perforated by the pink grapefruit and bergamot - fruity wood is probably the best way to describe it to someone who's never smelled it before. In fact, like it or not, the fruit and wood notes are so ubiquitous that Man Extreme is a fragrance that smells pretty much the same at the end of the day as it did at the beginning.What Man Extreme also is, is quite strong on my skin. I usually spray myself anything up to 7 or 8 times just to be able to smell the spray I've probably spent a fair amount of money on, but with Man Extreme two or three sprays is enough to get me through the day, and as far as I'm concerned that's virtually unheard of.Man Extreme is the very definition of a 2014 summer scent, in that it smells oh so similar to any number of other fragrances out there. I put this down to the grapefruit and bergamot, which give it its fruity vibe and which (in my opinion) it could do without. That's not to say that it's an unpleasant scent, but I have enough fruity and citrus colognes in my cabinet, and one more is just one more bottle to get lost amongst the others. I would have loved to see what could have been done with it if the grapefruit had been removed and replaced with something slightly less sharp and more sympathetic to the wood notes - something more floral perhaps?

Initially bought this earlier in the year and was my new favourite. Had to buy more as my nephew was showing too much interest in borrowing my bottle. So bought two bottles at the sale price. Arrived on the expected date and well packaged. My nephew loves this but now means mine with last a bit longer. Has a great smell and had a few comments on it.

I like to try different edt sprays and this is the best smelling one I've come across so far and I've been trying quite a few i love to smell nice and do get compliments when I'm out and about.

Women love the smell on you wearing this.. Nothing like the familiar scents they are used to as it isn't common. Long lasting and unique

Great original fragrance. If you're going to use 100/3.4 oz. Get the tester save 50%. Same as glitzy package but save at least 50-60%.
