When I first loaded a new tape, I followed the instructions carefully. They said to tighten the tape by turning the accessible hub. What they didn't say was when to stop. I wound the whole thing on, thinking it would stop when it was tight.I ended up taking the cassette to bits to work out how it worked, rewind the ink tape and reassemble. The good news is the cassette just pops apart if you lever it carefully with a thin knife. The bad news is that it's a real fiddle to do, especially the first time - there are 3 reels of tape inside the cassette. What the instructions should have said is to turn the accessible hub until ink-coloured tape is visible in the jaws of the cassette.10/10 to the product,4/10 to the documentation.BTW, if you make my mistake you may find that the ink becomes "burnt on" to the print head in the printer, and it does not print anything in certain parts of the tape width. I found that magnetic tape head cleaner and a cotton bud would remove this successfully.

As I use these commercially it’s important that they are of a certain standard.Cheaper generic ones maybe as good, but I’m not willing to take the chance. The Brother ones have fantastic adhesion and I’ve never had a problem with lifting. They work evertime and have never jammed in my machine.Just clip them in and away you go.If you want to guarantee a tape with excellent adhesion and a clear typeface then I would always choose the genuine article and these are the best.Update : I have now purchased the 18mm black on yellow as well.Excellent quality as usual and fantastic for marking warning signs on electrical equipment.I can't fault these original Brother labels in any way.Strongly recommended.Ihope you found this review helpful.

i bought a 9mm black on white label 8 meters [at around £10]as i had just got an p-touch labeller and the 2 x 12mm 4ft sample labels that came with it were not very clear [white on pink and white on green],this one is really clear,if you are labelling smaller items like plugs-plant labels ect you don't need a label bigger than 9mm and you can print large-medium or small text on this.i recommend this colour [or white on black]as it is really clear, you can buy 12mm 9mm or 6mm for this machine p-touch 1005.the 12mm is the dearer of these at around £12.this machine p-touch 1005 is great and easy to use even though the labels are a bit expensive.

The brother TZ tape is an excellent tape for labeling. The print is crisp and clear with a high contrast, and the laminating technique makes the tape very resistant to scratches and wear. The adhesive tape leaves no glue residue on hard surfaces, such as polished metal and glass. It stays on for as long as you need it to, and even withstands dish washing. Yet you can peel it off smooth surfaces if no longer needed, without leaving marks.Excellent tape! Also note that you can get fluorescent TZ-tapes for your P-touch printer.

Have tried the "compatible" labels and they are ok but often don't print as well or the label doesn't match the backing 100% and there is a slight rough sticky edge on the edge of the label. The black text on clear "compatible" labels have a slight mark down the middle of the label which matches where the two parts of the backing separate, the genuine version doesn't have this issue. The genuine labels are a bit more expensive but well worth the extra and I will only buy the genuine ones in the future.

I have been using this tape for a couple of years for plant labels. They are stuck on 1/2" plastic labels. There has been no deterioration despite being exposed to all weathers, sun and soil. They beat so called permanent pens, which all seem to fade with time and they are a lot neater.Have just fished some pots out of pond. Despite being submerged for about two years there has been no deterioration to tapes, which are still firmly fixedto 1/2" plastic labels.

Some years back, Brother changed the configuration of the waxed paper backing on this tape, making it much easier to crack & peel. The tapes I got are the old version, where you have to scrape your thumbnail along the edge, over and over and over again, to get the paper backing off. Just a minor inconvenience, which we all lived with for many years; but I missed the newer crack & peel version! I guess this was so cheap because it's clearing out old stock.

I have used these tapes for labelling wiring in my ship models for years and I would recommend them highly. The only caveat I have is the excess blank tape at the beginning and end of each print which is very wasteful and as it is just trimmed and thrown away - expensive! Surely this could be improved - but then the makers would not sell as many tapes! Hm!. This complaint stopped me giving it 5 stars.

This was a warehouse deal and came in perfect condition. It is important to realise that the Brother tapes come in two lengths 4m and 8m and what seems like a good deal may turn out to be the shorter tape. In use the tape is sufficiently sticky to adhere to most surfaces and washable. I've been using it for some years and there has been no yellowing of the labels printed off.

This is labelling tape manufactured by Brother. I've bought it many times before from different retailers. The quality doesn't change. It "does what it says on the tin". The only factor is price, and in this case, the price was better than other retailers. It was also sent promptly packaging. I think the delivery was free, but can't remember.

Running an 8 camera CCTV system, 2 computers, 2 printers and countless other periphals the cables were a mess. They are now labelled and tidied up. The labels stick well to 3 pin plugs, USB plugs etc and wrap around cables without problems. Will be using to label my various tins of screws, nails nuts & bolts etc quite soon.

After using the original Brother tapes I thought them too expensive so I bought alternative tapes - much cheaper. What a load of rubbish - every single tape seized after a short time. OK - so the originals are more expensive but I have never had any issues. I use them for labelling plants and shrubs outdoors - excellent.

Amazon... Have been using amazon for a couple of years now and they are the best, JUNK EMAIL, well from the occasional Email from amazon they are not a problem. Get a life and stop moaning over small things like emails from sellers, Just delete them or filter them to your Junk folder, or Dont have a Email account...

More expensive than the "compatible" tapes, which I haven't tried.Length, as described, is longer than the included tape that was originally supplied with the printer. At time of writing I cannot comment on tape adhesion. I will update review if it "unsticks" unreasonable.Used to label RF coax, USB cables etc.

Not a lot to say really but its a lot neater and smarter than white tape with black print when levelling items such as camera bodies and lenses. These TZ tapes are a lot thinner than the earlier Brother tape systems which is a big plus when trying to stick them to curved surfaces.
